Tuomas has said that music belongs to everyone. The meaning you get from his songs is your own and does not need to be what he meant when he wrote it. Their music is deep, powerful, and thought-provoking as well as ear candy and super entertaining when they excel in their live performances. I call it Metal for grown-ups ;)

Play the songs to the end! Floor Jansen (singer) herself reacted to her own song on her channel. Fans wanted that, and she did. Since she is also a vocal coach, she explains the technical side of the song and she also talks about her experiences that evening. Extremely endearing, exciting, interesting. Extremely worth seeing.

@@corneliusantonius3108 Yes absolutely possible, but then not because of the solocariere, but because of other things in her personal life. The solo career would then be a consequence of this. You just have more freedom than in a band. Of course, like everyone else, I hope for an endless time together with nightwish.

There are some songs of NW which are very emotional, if you really listen to it. Tuomas is always telling storys. So having tears during a NW song only shows that you are empatic and alive. This song is about a unfulfilled love. And Floor always hits me at the end and during the beginning.

Damn true when I saw them I cried during How's The Heart because Floor talked about keeping someone in mind that couldn't be there or you missed and I happened to raise my right arm which has a memorial tattoo for my triplet sister. I could not keep my eyes dry at that point and I know my father and I cried at least 3 times during Floor's solo concert.

The atmosphere is so special because the circumstances are special. The band was in survival mode after breaking up with Anette. Nobody knew how to proceed and whether Floor could withstand the strain. They would have canceled the tour, but needed the proceeds from the concert to cover the costs already incurred. Floor had only performed three concerts in the 18 months prior to Nightwish and was mostly in psychotherapy. Here in Wacken the situation is completely different. Floor was well received by the audience, had already internally agreed to be the new singer and the chemistry in the band was right again. The future of the band was secured. Floor's career had peaked within a short period of time. For the first time she is part of the headliner at one of the big festivals and sings in front of such a large audience for the first time. What she doesn't know yet, it will also be the end of her own band ReVamp. During the Nightwishtour she had prepared the recordings for the second album and released it afterwards. Ghost Love Score is a Tarja song and was sung by Tarja and Anette as an encore or at long concerts. With Floor it becomes part of the main program and the Argentina version is the first video to be released with Floor, a few weeks after her first appearance. In terms of content, Tuomas probably anticipates the breakup with Tarja. Tuomas started making personnel changes in 2001 and had forced the first bass player out of the band because of alcoholism. Marko was the ideal replacement. Even then there were rumors that Tarja would be next. The artistic and private differences between the "opera diva" and the "rock stars" had become too great. But they recorded another album together and in 2005 the break came. The end of the song was rewritten by Floor. In the original, the singing fades away slowly. In general, she reinterprets the vocals because she is a mix of her two predecessors and combines the advantages of both. Ghost Love Score is the song with the most reaction videos on KZfaq. Including one from Floor, where she describes her experiences with the song: Floor Jansen REACTS to Nightwish - Ghost Love Score (Wacken 2013)

👍That was a excelent sentence; "The artistic and private differences between the "opera diva" and the "rock stars",Not all, but classical trained musicians have a tendency to be a bit of denigrading to other styles of music,Diva,as a word discribes that perfectly. I'm not totally shure, but the conservatory in Rotterdam (netherland) was the first ,at the end of the 80's to have a "popular" music department, and i'm not shure for the rest of Europe (or the world) ,but conservatories where mainly classical oriënted,so no surprise there, that there is/was some snobism towards other styles of music. The rock academie was the first in ,around 2000, wich mainly focussed on that style of music + (not unimportant) the busines side of the music industrie. "Edward Hoepelman " where Floor studied also was more theater/musical/classical conservatory orientated and Floor said, that ,that was a eye opener for her. All this said, you can study all you want and i agree it makes you better in singing and to take care of your voice, but whitout the TRAIN LOAD of talent, like Floor has,it's not garantied that you gonna be among the best.🤘

On that 3rd of August it seems everything in the universe aligned resulting in one of the best concerts ever recorded. I know it sounds presumptuous, but check it out and you'll see I'm right. This concert has no weak spots, everything is as good as this song. Luckily for us there are more of these awesome concerts, Wembley 2015, Tampere 2015, Buenos Aires 2018 all recorded, all awesome. But THE best thing is seeing them live yourself. I'm high wired for days after seeing them. Enjoy the ride. Also Tuomas writes his music and lyrics when he knows what he wants to tell, every song is story in itself.

Nightwish is one of my absolute favorite bands. It made me relive the pure joy of music again. I had also known about them for almonst 20 years but never really listened tothem for real. Rediscovered them with Wacken and Floor and have been hooked ever since. No band makes me FEEL the way Nightwish does. I'm really really looking forward to more Nightwish reactions, you have a new subscriber :D I also commented on the previous video when you requested sad songs that doesn't have to be metal - I highly, highly recommend Hi Ren by the artist Ren. It is sad in a very different way and it completely blew my mind in how artistic and relatable it is. It's an emotional rollercoaster for sure, especially if one has experience with depression and mental health.

You have Been obsessed with these live performances. Any Nightwish live performance is something special ( my family went to seen them in Birmingham last November) . BUT Wacken 13 is ultra special as possibly the concert of all concerts. The concert that introduced Floor to the European audience and the concert where Floor stamped her ownership of the entire back catalogue and her place as the voice of Nightwish. And within that concert, GLS. The most reacted to track. Floors heart and soul capturing epic. You say ‘You almost want to cry, but you don’t know why’. Exactly. My intro to Nightwish was jan 6 2022, Wacken 13 GLS, total and instant infatuation with the Valkyrie. You also give a lot of thought to the lyric. Everyone was their own interpretation of Tuomas words, just carry on listening and thinking along the Nightwish journey, you will not be disappointed.

When you put together the writing and composing skills of Tuomas, singing and storytelling skills of Floor, and bunch of first class musicians, this is what you get. It is not just music, it makes you feel. This music takes you on an emotional journey. Sometimes it is a happy one, sometimes it will wreck you, but either way you feel better at the end. As much as it rips your heart and soul open, it also repairs them. This music is at its best when you let it take over. If you feel like crying, cry. I can not count how many times I have shed tears listening to Nightwish and Floor.

I just watched all your Nightwish reactions, with a massive smile on my face i might add, and was just waiting for that moment that you'd say "i got chills". Because that is what we lovingly call, a "Floorgasm" and it is the one and only demand we have to be inducted into the NW Army, so.. that said, welcome to the Nightwish army my friend. This concert is flawless, every song is worthy of a reaction video, and the more of this very concert you see/hear, the more you start to realize that they go all-out 110% for the entire concert. And with that realization you also find that they are like the "freaking Duracell/Energizer bunny!" they just keep going and adding more and more layers and power in each and every song. Others will have said this already, "your favorite Nightwish song, is the next song you hear" and eventho that might be a huge claim, in case of Nightwish... it kinda is true. Now, you asked for suggestions, and i have plenty of those.. but... there is one band that has been forgotten over the decades that does deserve some love. So while they might be obscure to most people, i am going to suggest them regardless..: Blue Cheer - Peace of Mind. Blue Cheer, for a lack of a better description, was/is a psy/prog/Southern rock band with an incredibly "dirty" sound, "swamp-rock" if you will, as if Creedence Clearwater Revival went hard and dirty. "Peace of mind" also is a bit of a journey type of song that can grab your inner self and have you feel all sorts of ways, so.. who knows, you might be the first to that song? (yes, that obscure) Another song of theirs has gotten a few reactions, their cover of Eddie Cochran's "Summertime Blues", which was their biggest hit, but the song "Peace of mind" has sadly been overlooked time and time again. (another song, "Parchment farm", also happens to be criminally overlooked) Either way, i think you'd enjoy their music as well, and on a personal note, i feel that Blue Sheer deserves some renewed love and attention, but ofc that is all up to you and i would not fault anyone for not taking the risk that the unfamiliarity of the band name, could draw in only a handful of people to come and watch it, but then again... it has to start somewhere right? ;) A big ty for your reactions sofar, i've enjoy them a lot and am curious to see how big your channel can grow, so with that being said, catch you in the next reactions :)

Great reaction. Reminded me of my own flabbergasted reaction years ago when I first saw this. I had written off NW after Tarja left. Now I never listen to anything but Floor NW. She is the ruling Queen.

Hey Cosmic, love the reaction. Having never used drugs in my life, I could never understand people's urge for their next "fix" Then along comes Nightwish, and all of a sudden, you just can't get enough. I need the next song, and the next until you're hooked! (presuming this is what it's like to take drugs?) Then you dig deeper, and deeper and Tuomas keeps on giving, all of a sudden you can't live without Nightwish! The emotional rollercoaster this band takes you on is phenomenal. There are so many Nightwish songs for you to discover, but if you really want to hear a masterpiece, then you must try "Poet and the pendulum" This song is Tuomas's reaction to firing Tarja, and how his life was at that time. Very dark, deep and meaningful. See if you catch the 3 mins and counting section? look for the Wembley concert in 2015, the last time that they apparently play this live. Floor's vocals will haunt you for the rest of your life. Look for Marko and Emppu standing by Tuomas in support, the whole song, spoiler alert (written backwards) is a masterpiece. If you do not feel "something" listening to this song, I think you need to check for a heartbeat!

I think this monologue from the movie Vision Quest explains how we all feel about this: "I was in the room here one day, watching the Mexican channel on TV. I don't know nothing about Pele. I'm watching what he does with a ball and his feet. Next thing I know, he jumps up in the air and flips into a somersault and kicks the ball in upside-down and backwards. The god damn goalie never knew what hit him. Pele gets excited, and he rips off his Jersey and starts running around the stadium, waving it around over his head. Everybody's screaming in Spanish. I'm here sitting alone in my room... And I start crying. Yeah, that's right. I start crying... Because another human being, a species which I happen to belong to, can kick a ball... And lift himself... And the rest of us sad-ass human beings up to a better place, if only for a minute. Let me tell you, kid. It was pretty god damn glorious." We cry because in that moment, in some small way, we as human beings, share a connection with Floor.

Also when dive deeper to Nightwish you can't ignore Tarja that was their first vocalist. Listen to "Nemo" and "The Phantom Of The Opera". Lot of these songs are for Tarja from era when they were not so big and stage sound was not perfect like "Wacken" that you are listening now. Anette the third singer also had some really good studio albums. All of the Queens had their talent.

Great to see you again Cosmic. This was the one that hooked, enchanted, and obsessed me when I discovered Nightwish. My first of countless Floorgasms. Followed by waterworks and awe. It looked like you experienced at least 2? It made us all feel unsettled and emotional the first time and every time since. Tuomas writes music and lyrics to make us feel something. Floor is the perfect storyteller to express the intended emotions he hopes to induce in every listener. We lovingly refer to those goosebumps, cold chills, frissons engendered by Floor Jansen, the Dutch queen of symphonic metal. You got it. IMHO You probably could not make out the choir parts during the chorus. "My fall will be for you My fall will be for you My love will be in you You were the one to cut me So I’ll bleed forever"

We like to joke, when a listener has *that* expression on his or her face, that it's "another soul for the Valkyrie goddess." The thing is, Nightwish and Floor *are* captivating, to a degree (for me, at least) that I've never experienced with any other band or singer.

Brother.... the "My fall..." part always gets me. Especially the last part of the song where Floor reveals the depths of her own soul... so powerfully reflecting to us our own longings for true love. The way she sings it makes me feel hope for a connection that never dies and is as deep as the soul itself. Floor is so theatrical and magnificent, but she is so real. Profound.

Oooh, nice you hit one of the big ones of NW in GLS. I can't tell you how much this song shocked and amazed me the 1st time i heard it. I def would have a hard time describing the feelings, but yeah.. chills, sadness, longing, melancholy, frustration, beauty.. they were all there. Tuomas's structure of HOW he puts songs together is masterful and fully designed to evoke an emotional response. Couple that with Floor, who is rumored to be a true empath, she has the ability to "feel and read" the words, the meanings, the music and in turn put that in her vocal instrument and evoke even more intense emotions. It is quite remarkable, I don't think I've ever felt this consistently from any other band. Kudos again for your reactions, keep it up!

Every Nightwish song makes you feel a certain way, this is intended. Each song can be summed up by an emotion that it evokes. This is because Tuomas is not only a master composer and poet, he is also a master psychologist. The key changes, the cord progression, the cadence and the lyrics are all targeted at achieving that goal. Even the color of the lights and the images on the screen behind them are carefully crafted by Tuomas to make you feel things that you didn't know that you needed to feel.
