Oh dear Allie. You have no idea, none at all, how much of an impact you have made on my life. I have suffered from low self esteem for most of my life. I’m a 52 year old teacher of 31 years and have two wonderful daughters with no self esteem issues at all. I worked so hard to teach them how important they were and how raise their self esteem. All those things I wish I could have, but do not. This past summer I decided the goal of my summer off would be to work on increasing my self worth. I watched your channel and two others religiously. I bought makeup and skin care products until the employees at Ulta were recognizing me outside of the store and stopping me like we were old friends! I began wishing I was receiving promo boxes! Makeup and self care began building a sense of self assurance within in. I started allowing my picture to be taken, when I’ve always been the one taking the pix. I made two vlogs of my summer. I was asked to help various family members with their makeup. No one could get over the change in me and I was startled myself. It has not cured the issues that years have placed upon me, but it started moving them in the right direction. I thank God for you daily and when I am down or need a bit of a pick me up, I watch you. You are so soothing to listen to and offer such wonderful suggestions. You are a beautiful person both inside and out. 💗 I have a running wish list of products you have suggested and am getting your makeup bags for Christmas. I want to be you when I grow up! 🤣 How I wish I had your self confidence and ability to come into our homes (even my classroom) and brighten our days. I’d love to take that step when I retire. I'm a full-glam, full-coverage queen on the daily. But the days where I just wear concealer, a powder foundation, a tiny bit of bronzer and highlight, brow gel, a shadow stick with mascara, and a plumping gloss; I just feel so fresh. Like "oh it's not fair she's so naturally stunning, THIS must be what she looks like without makeup." (Or at least that's what I imagine people are saying or thinking!😂) Because I wear so much makeup every day, a routine like this feels fabulous ❤

I love doing the monochromatic look to add confidence... I just use a skin tint, serum concealer, cream blush, cream bronzer a warm brown eyeshadow ,a blurring pressed powder, liptint or lipstick that matches my eyeshadow 💗

I love the cleanser. It smells so good.

I definitely am in a better mood for the day when I do my makeup in the morning. It is the best confidence booster for sure. That’s why I always tell people I do makeup for myself and not a boy hehe

I usually only use cruelty free makeup but I tried the maybelline skin tint for months trying to love it but my skin is like the Sahara desert 😅 even with a hydrating base. It looks so amazing tho on ppl! I end up using the Saie slip tint or Tower 28 for everyday. Pricier but I love both and they’re cruelty free ❤

Yes, great topic!!!! I call it my "game face," and definitely can confirm- a confidence boosting routine is essential. I had to represent my late father at an exhibit opening honoring his art career at my hometowns museum. It was a 6 hr drive, I was running late, and I know my game face,/confidence routine works because I did the essentials only version in 5 mins while meeting with the museum assistant in the public restroom. I am 53, she was 22. She gasped after I applied my tinted moisturizer, she was a bit embarassed but the transformation after 6 hrs driving was WOW, and asked me to write down everything I used. It is a very simple routine, all matte in case there's press (im in museum marketing as a career) but uses very, very good, well behaved products. I never ever travel without my game face products, i have a casual & a work version of "game face," and keep them handy at home for anytime I need a big boost or insurance that I look my best.

Just an aside, that "spa" feeling is extra enjoyable mostly b/c it is a natural way to use an evidence based self-care technique where you fill your mind with the literal present moment: giving it sensory information - sounds, sights (images, colors, lighting), touch&feels, & taste/smell. It isn't meditation but uses some of the same concepts & the concrete, sensory thinking pushes away abstract thoughts, worries & anxiety better than just employing 1-2 senses. Anything that is health-neutral or positive, physically relaxing, and that you enjoy can offer similar benefits if you really take time to experience pleasure and savor and explore all that delicious sensory luxury. Doesn't have to be expensive at all 😊 best of all, studies show it works and there is good evidence that this can be a small but effective component of healing after trauma & improving mental wellness in a very real, long term way... anyone wanna help me write a book about beauty, style, and evidence based self care?

have you ever tried youniqe foundation its a little pricey but not so exspensive its a light weight blends very well you can find it online and it ships to your house i love it not to heavy like your wearing a mask just feels like your skin the color i use and i am fair skinned is velour is a neutral color and many skin tones look nicewith that color

I have this eye palette. The taupe/browns do not work for my coloring at ALL. Not flattering. I was sad (this is my first splurge makeup and I guess I wanted to love it more), but I literally can’t do my eyes without the 3 topper shades and “Whisper”. I’m unwilling to part with those because they instantly upgrade any eye look I make into EXACTLY what works best for me ❤ The formulas are just absolutely perfect for my personal taste. Any ideas on how to warm up or tone down the cool-ness of the brown/taupes? I think it’s the undertones that are clashing with my skin eyes and hair. I can make travertine “work,” but I haven’t liked anything with it yet. Specifically, I have issues with Ella, Filigree, Tender, and Travertine.

Day to day I don't wear makeup anymore, I used to every day though. Im getting married soon and after 3 years of only on holidays I'm feeling uncomfortable getting back into it to square off my wedding look. I've had my makeup done professionally in the past for events and hated it so much so I would rather get back to confidence in doing it myself. I used to do a similar look to this with a purple thin smudge liner on the top.

I’m so tired of creators overhype products in the makeup industry. Just do the tutorial and enough with the opinions . Nobody will ever be having the same opinions on makeup etc and everyone’s face is different. What works for you doesn’t mean it works for all or even “good “ on your terms. It really is personal

I like the theme but that was a lot of incredibly bougie products to achieve that confidence.
