Thank you, Mr. Ballen, for the retelling of my dad's story. His 6 hours in hell mission is unbelievable and one he didn't like to relive, but he told it in hopes of inspiring those who heard it. He never took credit for being a hero, although in all of our eyes he is one. He always said the real heroes are the ones who never came home. By the way, our family just celebrated the 40th Anniversary of my father receiving the Medal of Honor. Again, well done Mr. Ballen. -Yvette Benavidez Garcia, Roy's proud daughter. #TangoMikeMike

I’ve heard your dad’s story many times. I can only imagine the internal strength of mind required to overcome the overwhelming physical trauma he endured and to keep fighting to save others. His story should never be forgotten. I’ve shared your father’s story with my children and hopefully they will share it with their own kids someday. I like to tell my kids that life will knock you down a million different ways, it’s your job to find a million and one ways to get back up. Inspired by your Dad. Thank you

I have heard Roy's story so many times and avery time I am amazed. Three things about Roy's story: -Who was the helicopter pilot? -Why no one has made a movie about his life? -Diabetes is a really horrific thing, because Roy died by its complications.

@@Spills51 Yes, I'm sure the "full recovery" was a bit exaggerated. He definitely had lots of aches and pains, if not actual health problems, over the years due to his injuries. @@juliecook6057 You know that statement has nothing to do with women’s equality, or equality in general. There’s nothing wrong with being proud to be a man, just like there’s nothing wrong with being proud to be a women. We should all be proud to be who we are. Stating that pride doesn’t create inequality, and it’s a right that both genders have. If the statement was written “Congratulations, it’s a women” would you say that it takes away men’s rights and men’s equality? Don’t create an issue that doesn’t exist in relation to the comment. Frankly, your comment just reflects poorly on all women. I’m a huge supporter of gender equality, meaning for both women and men, before you go claiming that I’m against women’s rights and promote inequality. I believe that both genders should be equal. Feminism has become this fight for women’s rights to be more important, rather than the fight for equality, which is at its roots. That’s not any better than what’s historically occurred and still exists in many places. We are human beings, and should all be EQUAL.

He pulled some video game bullshit, sprinting through the jungle fighting unhindered with one hitpoint after getting shot and blown up time and again.

This exemplifies the quote by Heraclitus about soldiers in battle , “Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn’t even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back.”

Imagine being a northern Vietnamese soldier in that regiment. They probably had asked themselves multiple times “Why won’t this guy die?”

Must have been a hell of a sight for the Vietnamese soldiers seeing a man and his Bowie knife running through the jungle with a wheelbarrow for his nuts.

Got a wonder are Roy's, or Desmond Doss's balls bigger? Imagine if they were a tag-team. Any platoon would say "I don't feel so good! I think I'm going to take today off cap'!"
