Welcome to CRM Life Episode 109, where I travel to the International Jewelers Exchange (@internationaljewelers9840) in Boca Raton (our second trip there), Florida to visit Matthew Green from Matthew Green Jewelers (@matthewgreenjewelers3838), the most impressive vintage watch collector I’ve ever met. Matt even took me through a mock auction of a Paul Newman Daytona! It was pretty wild and I definitely plan to do a lot more vintage watch videos with him going forward!

One thing I love about this family and the Leadership of Carols is a rule I have always followed. There is enough business for everyone just operate honor and with integrity. Mr, Green was the absolute real deal. Charlie is learning well from genuine people like his dad, and steering clear of the KZfaq dealer/flexers. Of course lab diamonds are real. The alchemists of old dreamed of turning base metals into gold. I wonder if modern Chemists/Physicists will achieve that feat too one day?? Another great show from CRM!!

Lab diamonds are a good alternative to real diamonds, but that’s what they are, an alternative. Slight difference in chemical composition (small amount of nitrogen in real diamonds), but big difference in resale values.

You can definitely differentiate a natural diamond vs lab grown diamond Because they are mass-produced in weeks, laboratory-grown diamonds have specific growth-related patterns which can be easily detected using professional verification instruments

You need very expensive instruments to detect nuances in the growth patterns, but at the end of the day, the physical and chemical properties are the same and you're dealing with type 2a stones. The rest is science fiction. 🤷

Friday has officially arrived with the release of the new CRM video! The weekend can now begin! Did I hear Charlie right when he talks about Matthew? A watch ''voyeur''? if i did, that's a first. If that's not what he said, well, I just invented an unusual term. A watch ''voyeur''... My mind went right at the end of last week video... which I still haven't recovered from... Man! when we talk about having a lot of watches... i think Matthew Green owns them all! If Starbucks are hard to find, we now know where to go. Matthew reminds me of Robert Meyer Burnett, his double on KZfaq but in the world of cinema and movie talk. Same friendliness. Same knowledge. Same passion. Same set of hair... In another vein, it is always interesting, even fascinating, to follow Carlos in his discussions on the phone, journeys to other dealers or in front of customers, especially when the time comes to discern a fake watch. And if following Carlos is captivating, it is even more touching to see him perform these same gestures with his son Charlie by his side. I liked the short sequence around the 10:00 minutes mark where the future of the store (good old Charlie) is explaining something to his father. All that was missing to soften me further was to see Carlos kiss his son on the forehead, as he usually does... Speaking of softing me up, if a CRM video doesn't contain any material on Eve, sorry... Natalie, which is always a bit sad, the next best thing is either to see family scenes between Carlos and his clan or see the new encounters with characters out of the ordinary. In this sense, Matthew Green is a super nice addition to this channel. It gives the gray market a good name and this fascinating world will always need it. There you have it. The CRM video is done. I finished my coffee (in my CRM mug). No burn this time (although i wouldn't have minded some provided it's because of Natalie...). On to the weekend. Wish everyday was friday. Wish everyday was CRM day.

I don't look at a lab made diamond the same as a mined diamond. But I don't think it matters as long as the supplier/retailer is up front about which one the client is buying.

Yes my friend, disclosure is important, but a lot of people still aren't ready to go lab grown, especially with all the decades of aggressive marketing by De Beers.

@@Crmjewelers People will eventually have to adapt and be open minded to lab grown. Especially as the ethics of diamonds continues to become more important to retail buyers. Ironically, De Beers is one of the biggest offenders of buying from unsafe and forced work mines in Botswana and the DRC. At least with lab grown there's no question about them being ethical.

As someone who works for a diamond business, lab grown and natural are the same besides the way they were born, the main difference is the price you pay at the end. It's all up to consumer whether you want it from the ground or lab. But I have been seeing more and more people go to lab tho over the past 3 years.
