The first time I heard this, I had to look up the work necrocracy, to make sure I knew what it meant. This is a band that doesn't dumb down its music for their fans, maybe because they know they don't have to. I agree with you Wolff, this is one of my top favorites, also. Sometimes, I have to remember to breathe when I'm listening to it.

I just looked up 'necrocracy' with an AI plugin. This is what it said: "Necrocracy refers to a form of government where power is held by the dead or through the influence of the dead. In the context of the KZfaq video titled "Ex Metal Elitist Reacts to Nightwish 'Weak Fantasy'," necrocracy may be used metaphorically to describe the dominance of traditional or older styles of metal music over newer or more experimental forms. The term could also be used to highlight the nostalgic or reverential nature of the metal elitist's reaction to Nightwish's song, as they may prefer the music of the past or deceased metal musicians."

One of my favourites! What they are actually saying is RELIGION IS A WEAK FANTASY. This song is against organized religions based on tribal religious texts, especially The Bible, it's not against personal faith in some Deity. However, one should realize that all those religious texts are & have been interpreted and used to justify unimaginable cruelties, persecution, discrimination etc., the worst being the idea that man is separate from nature & by some divine right above all other lifeforms, which explains the current almost catastrophic state of our planet.

This is one of my favorite NW songs. The performance of every member of the band is amazing! BTW. Kai Hahto has said that he improvises the opening drum part every time. So it's a little different at every concert! The concert in Tampere was special. In a way, the band celebrated their 20th anniversary in advance (actually, it wouldn't have been until the following year). But the concert performed at home in front of 25,000 fans, including Floor's parents! The end of the concert is epic. The last song is "The Greatest Show On Earth" and if you decide to make it a reaction video, choose this Tampere 2015. And if you watch the video with subtitles, you will get an idea of how the entire history of the universe / earth is told in 20 minutes. It's a great show outdoors with all the effects they use (lights, pyro, led screen).

You should really watch "The Reunion" (with subtitles) where a Dutch television team visits this Tampere show. Her parents are there and when interviewed, it could be a scene with a shy school girl and her parents just before the school musical. But when she enters the stage: a beast! That is one of the many fascinating faces of Floor😔 BTW this song is also based on the work of Richard Dawkins.

This song is also my top 5 !!! What an ABSOLUTE BANGER, from Floor's first Nightwish album as an official member (Endless Forms Most Beautiful is the eighth studio album). This song is against organized religions based on tribal religious texts, especially The Bible, it's not against personal faith in some Deity. However, one should realize that all those religious texts are & have been interpreted and used to justify unimaginable cruelties, persecution, discrimination etc., the worst being the idea that man is separate from nature & by some divine right above all other lifeforms, which explains the current almost catastrophic state of our planet. lyrics are spot on - so many fractures in our world have a root in the fantasy that each of the religions/sects/whatever are THE ONE way. This song speaks, with anger, against the fact that we humans are destroying ourselves and this world based on a power structure that needs to be made obsolete - we ALL deserve better. I LOVE this Song . Especially Floor's Freddie Mercury pose at the end . Speaking of Freddie ,....Floor's first band After Forever did a Cover of Queen's song "Who Wants To Live Forever " : Who Wants To Live Forever kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r7Z8p8qml9a0mZc.html NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘

@@TheWolffAndTheMelody Here are some band comments about the song and the making of the album: MARCO: What comes to the new lyrics, "Weak Fantasy" was the only one that actually hints at ancient tribal literature We obviously realized that religion is a touchy subject and that we'd have to carefully consider the tone of the lyrics. It's still funny that you can publicly criticize and mock art and politics as much as you want, as well as artists and politicians but when you stick your finger in the hornet's nest of religion.. uh-oh. TROY: We were working on "Weak Fantasy" for quite a while. Tuomas originally used more direct, aggressive metaphors, but in the end, we decided to opt for a more ambiguous tone. Some people might still find "Weak Fantasy" confrontational, but you can have different interpretations M as well. The wisdom is in the eye of the beholder TUOMAS: We discussed this stuff with the band for hours on end, and everybody stood behind the lines in Weak Fantasy" for instance. In Nightwish, I have never felt the need to neither rebel nor preach, and that hasn't changed, but if the listener stops to consider different viewpoints because of our music, that's always great There's never enough open, intelligent, and unprejudiced discussion in the world. Marco- There's obviously nothing wrong with leaning a higher power per se. A belief in something supernatural can comfort you and help you get through the day. But its just horrible when people use ancient religions as an excuse for their own utterly condemnable acts or to instigate senseless indiscriminate hatred towards others. Blind fundamentalism seldom leads to m anything good, whether you bow to Allah. Jahve, Jesus, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or something else. TROY: As the wisdom goes, if you could reason with a fundamentalist, there would be no fundamentalists. TUOMAS: It's only during the last years that l've started to question my own religious stance. Why have I been a Lutheran and believed in the kind of God Lutherans do? It's simply because I was born in Finland in the 1970's. In another culture, in another time, there would have been another god above others. In 10th century Denmark, I would have worshipped Odin and Thor. If I'd been born North Korean, I would've been forbidden to believe in any kind of Supreme Being In other words: what you believe in - or what you think you believe in - is based on pure coincidence. TROY: It's baffling, but some of my friends are actually afraid that I will be cast into the fiery pits of hell. I can only compare these dear friends of mine to chain smokers in this respect: they know it's unhealthy, but they still refuse to quit. I don't understand why people believe in something without any proof, yet laugh at other similar beliefs I mean, if I were to claim that you can live to be 150 by eating just yoghurt, nobody would believe me. They would ask me for some kind of proof and research findings. Why can't they apply this logic universally? TUOMAS: To be precise, I consider myself an agnostic atheist. I don't believe in God, so that makes me an atheist How do I know that God does not exist? I don't, but neither does anybody else. That's why I am also an agnostic. To confess that you do not know something is actually an intelligent and constructive stance. It makes you humble, unlike a blind belief in m something unproven MARCO: We had just returned from an 18-month hiatus, so everybody was itching to make some noise again even to rehearse! It's always interesting to play new material, because new songs are not in muscle memory yet. I'm using a double-neck instrument for "Weak Fantasy" for example, and there's a moment when I have to leave the bass humming, turn on the guitar, and, on a certain eighth note quickly grab the other neck. You have to practise these things quite a bit to be able to play them with confidence. 🤘😎🤘

Hi, here are jy usual comments on this one: Nightwish in fairly heavy mode but the point, as in most Nightwish songs, is the lyrics Nobody but Tuomas would come up with "male necrocracy" in the lyrics to a song But the whole thing is well-crafted musically as well as lyrically. Floor uses a multitude of voval effects in the same ohrases, Marco back to his roots on six-string, Troy showcasing bouzouki and Kaitsu demonstrating his absolute mastery. He has to be one of the very best drummers this century. Although anti organised religion, there is thought behind this composition. Here is what the band had to say: MARCO: What comes to the new lyrics, "Weak Fantasy" was the only one that actually hints at ancient tribal literature We obviously realized that religion is a touchy subject and that we'd have to ca- refully consider the tone of the lyrics. IIRC this is off the 1st album where songs are written for both Floor and Kai's abilities in mind, LMK if that's wrong tho. That said, Kai is bringing the thunder, Empuu and Marko with a killer riff, Tuomas rocking OUT on keys, Troy filling those rare quiet spots with his Bouzouki.. Floor and Marko at max synergy. They all were 100% on point, this is in my top 10, if not 5 for sure. Killer react Cosmic! As a side, it blows my mind they can put so many different sides out in their songs. Compare this song to Dead Boys Poem, or Sleeping Sun.. or the likes of Last of the Wilds, Elvenjig/Elven Path, I want my tears back.. to songs like Yours is and Empty Hope, to the new album with its songs.. you get my drift. So much variety and talent.

When some streamers, the somewhat metal 'elite' ones, ask for a heavier song, this one does go under the radar even for the nightwish army when doing suggestions. In any case this is an amazing song.

i have been hearing and listening to their brand of symphonic metal brought to you by Nightwish second to none with these professional musicians been listening since 2000 so these guys can make something so heavy that you would think doesn't work not according to this creativity here with this band and how they weave beautifully together the symphonics of a living symphony at yeah it might bloww you away with the transitions they can seemlessly make between sounds top 5 i dig it they are probably in the top 10 in their own country imagine what will happen when they can tour here in the states they are going to sell out stadiums and arenas everywhere

According to Spotify, I listened to this song more than 320 times in 2021 and it was the song I listened to the most that year. I do remember listening to it on repeat 5 or 6 times in a row. It's that awesome!!! I love the drive you feel with Kai working those kick drums. It's a good running song. I still use it to work out and I have a feeling Êlan is going to be riding next to this one this year. What a contrast! lol A DJ by the name of Eric Clark, who does reactions here, did a reaction to this and said "It makes me feel like going out and taking somebody's stuff!" 😂😂 Absolutely one of my top 5 along with 7 Days To The Wolves and Romanticide. Thank you for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤️🤘🤘

Nightwish is truly the best in performances! You said "its like discovering music for the first time" and holy shit i could not of described it any better! And now here we are chasing that dragon, chasing that high yet its as good if not better the 10000000th time as it is the first hit lol and just a fun fact if you didnt know, floor jansen is married to the drummer of sabaton! The sheer talent coming out of the nordic countries is truly staggering! Sometimes i hate saying this because i dont want to belittle the music we grew up with but we are in the golden age of music and performance

Weak fantasy, more like total control. This band is made to perform, there's no just going thru the motions here, it's full steam ahead with a big smile on your face. Marko must have been in a very deep, dark place to want to give all of this up?

This is one of the songs that is improved massively for me by the live performance. Amazingly, it's probably my least liked on their _Endless_ _Forms_ _Most_ _Beautiful_ album! That's my favourite album of all time from any band, so I'm not saying the studio take is bad (it is still solid), but I just adore this version. It's one of the songs Tuomas co-wrote with Marko, which I think gives it a slightly different edge.
