That would be a fun little car to take around a track like Winton here in Victoria as it's a bit shorter and tighter and suited to the smaller cars like this one. :)

Great review of the Mini, Ross. Sure looked like a fun car to drive. The exhaust sounds quite good. I agree it needs a 2.0L in it, now that would be a fun car to drive. It’s a great little car for someone to buy. The 0-100km wasn’t too bad for the size of the engine.

Best review of a car ever. Maybe I'm showing my age but they will always be a cooper to me. Be it a austin or a a morris or bmw. For pure driving fun i don't think much comes close. But what do i know. If i could afford that beauty I'd be at next ride in an hour.👍

the later Minis are surprisingly fun, at BMW training we got to blast some of the line up in the Victorian hills, after being in some fun cars I thought the Mini was going to be meh in comparison, I was very wrong. Mini kept hard on the tail in the corners with a 135i and its probably one the most memorable fun times I had driving the line up. Never got to drive a JCW but the standard petrol model was so good. Inspired a lot of confidence that you could push it.

the newer GP models have 300+ hp if im not mistaken. Mini are very fun little cars, even the S models

Yep, they have a BMW B48 - which is a B58 minus 2 cylinders..

Considering keeping my R53 supercharged version and going with a K24 swap and type R head with ITB's and Hondata now that ive sold the Harrop supercharger kit.

Btw those seats are recaros When you compared it to the thought of a recaro If you look close you'll see recaro stamped into the back of the seat shoulder height Also this car has hit 5.8 seconds 0-60mph

From the UK. You’re referring, I believe, to the prior generation R53 Cooper S Works GP. Launched in 2006, LSD to front axle, 1,090 kgs, 218bhp at 7,100 rpm 1.6 litre supercharged 4-cylinder engine, 184 lb ft torque at 4,600 rpm, 149mph and 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds. Assembled by Bertone.

BIGGEST downsides to these are the horrible reliability of the engines, and the fact that they all have an open diff... *even* the GP2?? This car'd be so much better if it had one! Still great fun.
