Yes. When my hair grew to its longest in 2011 I had been wearing it naturally in twists regularly. When I wasn’t having a weave in I was wearing my own natural hair in thick twists. I don’t think it matters how thin or thick the twists are. It’s a very good style because the take down is easy. I was moisturising and steaming and trimming my hair regularly. I was using lots of oils in my hair. It really thrived. I am on a new hair journey now as I dropped the ball so many times over the years so my hair broke. I never reached my hair goals but I intend to this time and will definitely share when it starts to get there! Yes. Highly recommend twists. ❤😊🎉

Your hair has grown a lot. It also looks very healthy. I’m trying to get my hair back to growing healthy again. It’s hard for me to grow my edges back. It came out badly on both sides because of dyes and perms. Do you have any ideas?

I had the same issue. I stopped tying scarves around my edges and sleep on satin pillowcases. I used black castor oil for moisturizer then boiled rosemary, cinnamon sticks and cloves and used it as a spray leave in. It worked well for me. Hopefully it will help you. 😌

I can testify to this...if you really want to grow back your edges ...try this, I did this👉🏾 I plait my hair into 8 cornrows and used Fenugreek+ Aloe Vera gel spray onto my scalp and hair ends, then followed it up with blue magic hair grease mixed with castor oil, peppermint oil, tea tree and Amla oil + Avocado oil. Massage my hair very well 2x every day for 2 weeks. Wash my hair, deep condition and repeat the hair routine for 6mths. That's how I grew my edges and my hair shockingly grew from my lower back neck to my shoulder bra straps within 6mths. Our natural hair needs isolation and tlc esp. our edges and hair ends. I hope you try this method, your edges will be back in no time.😊✌🏾xx

I make sure to braid then twist my hair. I ordered hair for braided twists. I start my hair with two quarters on the side of each section. Then, I braid about six passes until I can put the quarters together and twist to the end. I do this as to not pull the hair to even it out before twisting. My twist outs come out much better. My hair has grown longer and thicker. A couple of weeks ago, I clipped my ends a few times because I was afraid of chopping too much off. Now, it seems longer than it was before the trimming!

It really doesn't matter how long another person leaves their twists in. The key is to find out how long. YOUR hair will hold the twists before locking, breaking, unraveling, etc.

Water, leave-in conditioner, and oil or grease. Thoroughly detangle before twisting. Learn how long YOUR hair can stay in twists before locking and take them out before that time.

Instead of starting it with twist, start off braiding at the root, then start your twist until the end. This is the only way my twist will stay up for 2 months. Otherwise they start unraveling overnight.

😢😢😢 am I the only natural 4c whose hair hates twists??? My hair just marries each other and tangles like nobody's business. I tried so many times but eventually just gave up

Add marley twist hair or kinky twist hair. My natural hair tangles more alone than when I add extension hair.

Be careful to detangle your hair well before twisting it. While twisting it, make sure that you're pulling your hair downward. Don't give it a chance to curl up on itself. Use tension when twisting, don't be so light-handed, and of course, not too heavy-handed.

Ohhh, wait. I did mini twist for the 1st time, and I left them in for 3 weeks. My hair got tangled as heck and was hard to get out. My hair was almost matted!! No more mini twists for me, only chunky. If I ever did mini ones for a style, I would take them out within a week.
