Chinese scientists recently discovered an unusual crystal on the Moon. They found out that this crystal contains an element that can literally replace nuclear fuel. These crystals were formed as a result of volcanic activity, just like some garnets on the Earth. And yep, the place where they discovered these crystals also suffered from volcanoes... 1.2 billion years ago. Are they dangerous for us down on Earth, or could we make good use of them?

I remember a talk about being able to fuse Helium 3 and still get an output of energy because of how light the element is. The sever lack of resources when it came to the element is1 of the biggest reasons why they went the Hydrogen route to which they are making big strides of progress but still slow going in the grand scheme of things

At 4:56, the narrator mentions Sol (the sun's proper name) compressing hydrogen into "new heavy elements, like . . . helium". Helium, the second lightest element, hardly qualifies as one of the "heavy elements"! These would be uranium, amongst several others. I come here to learn. I spend most of my time correcting contestable assertions.

If this source is for real, and we can get to mining it as soon as possible, not only would fossil fuels and nuclear power come to a permanent end - it would also give us a chance to restore all regions destroyed by mining and farming practices, while powering our entire cities. Furthermore, we could develop technology that could allow the crystal to be used for space travel, allowing us to not only mine the Moon, Mars and asteroids for similar elements, but also creating subterranean cities within those planetoid structures with artificial lighting, not to mention launching pads for spacecraft to repeat the process of mining and colonization on the moons of Jupiter and Saturn!
