I agree with Touker it looks really cheap, tacky and just doesn't stand out, "its vegan, includive, hand made" yet its made in batches in china and shipped over , how has no one pointed out the only hand made bit is the inital custom samples she sends to her suppliers?

There definitely needs to be more shades on the market that represent everybody, however I agree with Sara, lockdown thry should have killed it but 13,000 a year is like a grand a month in sales. You can do these kind of figures at little markets and ebay. It's very low :/

I'm sad she didn't get an investment, she was great. The business can evolve too, she can work with developers to create lip/eye make up with her colour pallet. It's an over saturated market, but even in 2024 I constantly see people of colour talking about the struggle about not being able to buy the correct shades of make up. With the right marketing, people of colour are far more likely to purchase from an independent & black owned business than the huge names.

Ultimately, I have to deal with criticism all round. But I'd like to ultimately thank all of the positive comments. Also this was filmed over 2 years ago and I've operated this business since 2019, so Ultimately a lot of things are no longer correct or accurate anymore. These markets are so saturated. Yeah you have a few unique colours, but that doesn't necessarily pull EVERYONE over to your range. You have a unique blue? Ok? How many people want THAT blue? Ain't knocking her for trying. But there are so many MASSIVE companies sitting in this space, they could easily go "thanks", pinch her colours, and that's it.

You have to feel bad for the on set make up team, whenever a pitch like this happens. They now have to pause filming and clean everyone's nails. That aside, and im just a white guy who has had his done like twice, so im overly experienced. However its lucky for her that the big boys are mostly white skinned. It takes one "Big History Month" type promotion by any of the big names, and she is over.
