I am a school bus driver IRL and was able to give Dummiesman some feedback about a few things that werent 100% but it was REALLY good on first release. The fact that i can do a whole 100 point bus inspection in a video game is absolutely ridiculous and i love it lmfao, literally everything is there. PS: Cat C7 > Cummins B6.7 any day of the week.

I've actually worked a few months as a school bus mechanic almost a quarter-century back and recognized this as a Blue Bird TC/2000. Spent a lot of time PMing them and doing repairs as needed. I agree about the inaccuracies, but it's not bad especially for a game mod. Shame they stuck a CAT in there instead of what was the stock Cummins 6BTA5.9/ISB. When the governor isn't installed on those, the bus actually has a lot of get up and go, but tends to get downrated by the dealer before distribution. (Been in the same bus fresh from the factory driving across country to the dealer and after it was delivered to the district and it was a very noticeable loss of power in that step. It was also a lot easier to work on and more reliable than the Detroit Diesels and CATs in the other brands and older buses. (The Gilligs with their CATs were notorious for leaving a rolling black cloud of smoke and oil spray behind them no matter how much effort was dumped into the engines. The garage would keep getting heat from district office from parents calling in complaints about having to wash their cars after getting stuck behind one of them.)

This looks exactly like the kind of bus I rode as a kid. The dome lights were used for morning pickups for sure, but they were turned on in the exact same way as this bus many times. The bus drivers I had in middle school would always use them when they needed to yell at someone miss behaving on the bus, they would just light up the area where those kids were to get their attention and such...

Get a $200 office PC with an i5-6500 or so, get a low profile GTX 1050 and 16 GB RAM; you'll be playing on medium settings just fine.

The only time i have seen the dome lights on a school bus get used is in the morning around the time of year it's still dark out at the usual pick-up time. And that typically had to do with what side of the route you lived on. The first half of students got to see the dome lights used, and typically, the last few students were getting picked up didn't as the sun was out enough for them to see.

Beginning of this year I bumped into one of my bus life friends in DC and watched paratroopers for a VFW type ceremony from on top of his bus. Chillin in a lawn chair, smoking my legal doobie. On a bus roof. W paratroopers haha. Hell yeah Bus. Hell yeah Neil. Crash into the new year, eh? (Wait till you see what I got planned, meng, oh boy…)

As someone who drives a schoolbus from the same era this one is modeled after, everything is spot-on, even with the warning/loading light switches (the ones for the top signals and stopsign) Also, the 'activity' bus usually are busses that don't have a route to pick up or drop off students, and is exclusively used for field trips and the like

Working in the world of buses irl, I can tell you that everything is there, looks just like a TC3000 but unlicensed, all the way to how the yellow/red lights are activated, it really is how that works. Even the steering wheel is very similar to SCI basic wheels commonly found on most school buses. And the realism of the wide angle mirrors in the front is insane

that COE bus brings me back to my days in school when I had to get on 2 or 3 different busses to get home. that bus, in 300,000 miles went through 7 engines, 12 transmissions, 18 rear differentials, 20 driveshafts because U joint failures causing the driveshaft to be shot but man was it nice to ride on.

The brake lag is normal for air brake equipped vehicles. It’s normally about 3/4 of a second.
