This new Jean Grey deck is fire and performed really well in Gold Conquest in Marvel Snap! The thing I like the most about this deck is the control it provides - you have Jean Grey to control where your opponent plays their cards and you also have cards like Jeff, Silk, Spiderham and Wave to further help you control the board and grow your Angela and Kraven. Having Nebula in one location and Jean Grey in another location often means an auto win for the Nebula location especially if you manage to play Wave on turn 5. One of my favourite cards in this deck is Aero though - she is growing in popularity again because of Galactus and she can buff your Kraven too!

it's crazy how alioth fits in in so many deck. even loki player brings in alioth when they already have a broken advantage 😂. it also fits in high-e, lockdown control, and move deck.

I don’t think it really fits in a lot of those decks. A lot of it is just new card copium or people adjusting those decks specifically to make alioth work which hurts the deck most of the time. People just don’t know how to play around alioth yet.

@silentkyng3661 you're right that people don't know how to play it, and it doesn't have synergy with a lot of those decks. However, in my experience, it is pretty damn flexible. All you need is to secure 1 lane, and have priority, and your odds of winning are quite high, sometimes literally guarantees. I think many decks can hit that bar easily. Either way, we'll have to see how it goes.

Prefer Nightcrawler over Nebula. Gives you more options with Jean to move about. That bit of flexibility matters more than the power imo. I'm seeing Aero more in these lists. Not sure she's good if you play Jean already since that's basically an Aero and you want to wave on 5. Currently been playing Snowguard to help with location control and beat Limbo.

I've been pretty much only playing this and a stupid Destroy deck that involves Psylocke or destroy X23 on turn 4 to play Wave and Jean on Turn 5 into Alioth or Galactus (if you put Jean into a filled lane). It's actually in a destroy Archetype with Phoenix Force because I can also play Jean on 3, kill her on 4 (only placing her in a lane with X-23 or Wolverine), Bring her back with Phoenix Force which forces them to play on that location while you can move her to which ever lane you want to win. Jean and PF brings the same power curve as Vision with extra steps but has the control ability to force them to play somewhere. If you have Prio you just drop Alioth in the lane Jean was in (if you moved her). If you have something like an Altar of Death with Jean and PF in hand that's basically a snap since you're able to manipulate Jean and their first card placement on multiple turns.

Alioth kinda mid ngl. For ranked maybe okay, but in conquest if you don't surprise them with an 8 cuber you just have a bad card that is easily countered and predictable.

He's easy to read much like Galactus plays but for you to counter an Alioth play you either have to setup for it by placing a pre-emptive Armor or Cosmo (and get them to play there) or to have priority by turn 5-6. He's not an OP card or anything but I'd say he's pretty strong as a sort of pocket Galactus or a wider hitting Negasonic where you get to keep the 5 power but costs 6 to play. The point of Alioth unlike Galactus is that it better secures the game in decks that restrict location placement but isn't really a win condition on it's own as you need to already be winning while Galactus can be that key for a surprise win. Their similarities would be that they both work better if you have prio. Alioth definitely needs some cards to pair for him to be really good though like in a ProfX lockdown or like this Jean deck. It's strongest when you can better predict the opponents placement because if you play him hoping to hit something, at worst it's a 6/5 and that's not a great turn 6 drop.
