They didn't recieve some new support in POTE that would've made them broken if they had gotten it earlier, the reason Runick is so strong in MD is because a best of 1 ladder format favors them greatly, plus lots of strong floodgates are legal that they can take advantage of

And every time I hear about Chronomaly involving something that isn't an FTK, I'm reminded of the TCG dragging their feet when it came to releasing Nebra Disk, ensuring it'd never be as playable as it was in the OCG. Today's History of Jank was a good example of that, getting to bully another attempt at Slifer Turbo to help make amends of the TCG's unforgivable sins.

The no one plays rank 4 salad XYZ was in master duel before we got it in print. (In fact, the card didn’t have any text on it when the game launched in English) It was in the OCG for years before we finally got it. I don’t know why. It isn’t even good.

@@haxmode6935 and then everyone played main/side deck out to it and it never was a threat again. Hell my cynet conflict version hoses mine since negating the mine with conflict means you can’t use mine till the end of the next turn.

What happened was some sky striker player won a ycs with mine, next event everyone had backrow removal and it then didnt top, then we had shit like beatcop and solemon invalidaing the outs and mine winning a few nats, and the the next set came in and tear 0 format

@@haxmode6935 ok you say that, and while it’s true I am citing Mbt for that, you literally just said the same thing as well. A deck with mine topped, people freaked out and played removal which got it out of the meta game, which resulted in no tops at all from it, then since it wasn’t getting tops people started to stop playing backrow removal, then it started coming back due to this, then it was banned. So I fail to see the difference between Mbt said and what you just said here. Also I don’t actually like this format. I feel like it’s been more or less solved at this point and since amazing defenders isn’t going to change anything up I’m not playing tcg right now and waiting for a banlist to solve the format.

@@Freebird1994 mmm no. People were still playing mine outs when mine was topping for the second time, look at the tourny that altergiest mine won. At least once per match in everyone at least post top 16 his oppent saw a mine out (lowball), but due to things like solemn and beatcop he had the outs to the outs. Also it wasnt mined being banned that stopped mine from being good, it was ishu cards being released. There was a reason the mine ban was called 3 months too late

Speaking objectively, yes, certain cards would be way less unbearable if they were designed around being limited at release. The problem is that in a physical format where scarcity is a thing, Konami makes all their money from people buying packs to get extra copies of powerful cards, whether it be to sell them or to actually play them, so there's no incentive for them to limit a card on release. In fact, an extremely broken card that requires 3 copies is a huge bonus for them because it means people have to buy tons of product to get their playset

kids don't know it but this is how it used to be back in the MD era. Cards were limited very close to release or on the same day even. Gorz for example was limited two weeks before his release

@@TimothyGod they knew they were broken, like they do now. They were also mostly anime and manga cards like Mirror force and the mentioned Gorz that were made byTakahashi himself. The thing was that they knew making a balanced game was paramount to keep selling cards and now they know they don't need to so they squeeze the playset of players lol but their playtest and design team are not incompetent, think of how much power level increases but we still don't get ftks outside of a couple of outliers, they know what they are doing and how bonkers the cards with maybe the exception of emergency banlists but even then they knew plushfire was bonkers

because it's been mathed out and unless you're running 16 hand traps, it isn't worth making heatsoul in pure

1 reason is the ability to protect I:P from getting impermed in the draw/standby phase and a 2-4 mat appolousa is a better way to disrupt the opponent than gambling with your draws. Don't get me wrong. I also play Heatsoul but as a secondary option if I got handtrapped in some way.

I found that he was sometimes my only path to win in one turn, but those situations were so few and far between that I ended up dropping him from my list :( Love Final Sugma Male and I'm sad he's not as good as Update + Access

Depends on what extenders you have in the deck, because circular will give you more room for unexpected final sigma strategies, like these ones, e.g: (1) You can finally replace one mathmech addition and subtraction with two copies of alpha, the beastmaster. Then get any 4 star tuner on the field, make final sigma, instead of three materials. After that you activate circular and send multiplication to grave. (2) You can play three black gardens field spells + any 1 star handtrap with with 4 star monster to search the field spell. This way you flood your opponents field with 800 atk tokens in atk position. In addition the atk of all special summon monster are halved. Depending on your follow up you activate laplacian, etc and finally sigma. (3) people also neglect the mathmech floodgate playstyle, like playing final sigma before activating skill drain, imperial iron wall, soul drain, etc.

They put runick in this game. There's no merciful god.

Imperm was negated by Alembertian to protect Accesscode. Diamater gives any Mathmech monster that used it as material a negate for that turn only and in this case, Alembertian did.

There's nothing inherently unfair about them. If you know how the deck works you can play around stuff.

It isn't a bad choice at all, but link plays often elevate the deck higher and Final Sigma doesn't do anything aside from having 3000 attack, something which is relatively easy to beat over unless you have Multiplication in grave to boost it to 6k and they don't have Called By or Avramax.

Sadly circular is already 1 card otk through accesscode so adding sigma into extra doesn't do much, i add him to my extra deck but never felt need to make it

Runick isn't a mill deck, its a control deck that can still kill you. Synchro runick will put up a bunch of beaters if uncontested, same with Invoked runick, floodgate runick can still summon vanities or majesties fiend. Also they dont need you to have cards to mill since a good portion of the deck is usable without opponents cards.

this is only true of Pure Runick.

Even pure Runick and kill you if you play nothing. Their searcher mills 3 they have a card the makes you draw that mills 4 and a card the discards from your hand if you draw that mills 3.

Maxx c has been more than just a ''little'' annoyance since like 2015. Either the game has to slow down to the point where losing 1 turn of combos doesn't lose you the game immediatly or it has to go.

@@gatocochino5594 the game also needs to have more than 5-6 cards matter total but i think complaining that resolved maxx c can end a game is pointless when resolved any one card in your opponent's hand can also end a game. EDIT: Especially a magnet for every form of common negation in the world. You don't just run 3 ash and 2 called by for Maxx C but those sure are helpful in cases where you run into it, and Crossout is still good, even at 1.

I'd replace it if Sky Strikers actually got a boss monster one of these days.
