Because obviously the guys had loads of trouble even putting the "NetworkSync" tag on the player's position variable, how can you expect them to actually know how to do any actual client-server communication, which would be able to handle items in any way?

Half of these RP "games" would be time better spent making RP servers for GTAV, SA-MP/MTASA or Garry's mod, lol.

I called out this game a scam when I found it on kickstarter. The kickstarter was a copy of Identity RPG's kickstarter. They edited the bits to make it seem like a new game, but the bottom part about risks and stuff included the identity name :p poorly performed scam, luckily the kickstarter never completed. Strange how this ended up as EA though. Hopefully people will stay away

I just Googled CapitalGaming RP Studios and it is in fact a listed company in Australia, although the owner is listed as being someone named Tanner Jack Joseph Rozankovic. Also, if you check out their Google reviews they're sitting at a 4.7 with at least one review saying they have a "AAA feel". Hah. Hahah. Edit: I also just noticed that the company was first registered on May 4th of this year (2020).

I looked around and it seems like "CapitalGamingRP Studios" registered with ASIC *today* (May 4, 2020), even though he has been trading under the name "CapitalGamingRP Inc", which wasn't a registered company. The fact he registered now tells me our friend probably got a warning for committing fraud, lol.

I used to work for a company who was vetting Steam submission and the direction were clear : We only check if the store page description matches the game and nothing else... And we had to vet at least 30 games a day so most of the time we were just skimming through games...

This looks like the first game I ever made at my high school, we wanted a fighting game like World Deadest warrior and when we got the limb being cut off worked they just flick off and at times kill the other player because they were hit so hard!

Devs are focusing a lot on good graphics. Even a standalone GTA san andreas rp game with awesome mechanics would sell more than any of the new gen games.

they honestly need to learn how to do blocking out stages before ANYTHING ELSE! all these role playing games need to learn this shit if they want their shit to not be laughed at. they need to work on layouts of the map, blocking stage and then mechanics (( or mechanics first!)) for the players and workable coded menus implementing pretty to look at un-optimized assets they got off the market. graphics are not everything, but these indie RP game attempts all have the same issue, they try to make the game look pretty before it's even playable. kinda like star citizen, game looks amazing but it's not fucking worth looking at if it isnt playable. they would have better luck at creating a RP game if it was a over the top pixel game than what they currently have right here. games like GTA rp arma life etc. they work because they have already functioning tools that where then used by modders to establish other means. Build a good foundation first then you can make the game look pretty, not "Make the game look pretty, sell and then work on foundation" hell SOT did foundation first had nothing in the game but eventually put shit in it. games gorgeous from what it looked like pre-alpha, learn from that.

There is already a very well made Australian Army mod for Squad that will probably get added to the regular game by OWI like they have in the past for other mods. He can’t possibly think he can compete with that does he? I bet he will steal assets from it too.

if the game is as you said in the video labeled as not ready for full release, early access it sounds like they are using those people who paid for it as bugfinders and testers rather than actually paying for it. will be interesting to see if this thing continues to be a problem in the future. What I would consider to be a scam, running kickstarters, alpha/beta testing sold as a 'perk' of early access. As for the game, Down Under sounds like an interesting thing so that sucks, I'm a sucker for Augs and would love to play more realistic shooters that use bullet drop and similar. As for the phrasing in the Kickstarter, I could see that statement meaning they are licensing OWIcore but I agree it is fairly vague and is pretty questionable. I am fairly amused that you don't at any point refer to a currency that's value is know to the majority of the youtube community. As for the devs, I know a fair few people working on projects for nothing to get a portfolio/credit on a project whilst in university/using these projects as work credit type things, the industry is utterly predatory in that regard sadly. If he is running a kickstarter as a corporate entity it will be traceable and lead to a registered business. Dunno if that helps at all to screw him for shitty behaviour.

I worked with the main developer and project manager of this game on another project, i can tell you he's a good developer however demanded for more ownership over the project or he'd leave. Of course we let him leave.
