You CAN do planks up to 8 feet long. You just lock the blade in place in the centre and use the rip guide and pusher to push the plank through in one fell swoop.

I just used this for 600sf of LVP. Overall great tool. I liked easily moving it room to room. Hooked it up to the M12 vac. Used an oscillating tool for vent cutouts over a 5 gallon bucket for enhanced dust collection. My boards were 9” wide so some of the rips took multiple passes with the limited rip capacity. Saw should also have a light or laser. I also used this to install baseboards. Cut the 45 and rough length with miter saw in the freezing garage. Did the coping in the room and used the Ryobi to do final cut to length. Saw is light so it was easy to move from corner to corner in the room.

Nice review. Odd size blades often difficult to find. Stay with 7.5 blades that are common everywhere. A 7.5 mitre saw does most everything, not too heavy. For ripping, get a Roybi wet tile saw, put 7.5 circular saw blade on it in dry mode and you have a nice table saw to rip those flooring planks. Hope this helps someone.

A great tool. It looks like the saw would lock down, the saw could be turned on and locked for continuous running and you could feed a piece of flooring through it, using the push stick to rip it length wise for a shweet shweet full length cut. I have a big flooring job coming up in the fall and I’m going to get one of these bad boys as soon as they are available in Canada. Thanks for showing this.

That doesn’t mean anything because they all have different levels of quality that can pass the inspections Most of the tools in the USA made by the same companies. Just like glasses, there’s one company in China that makes over 90% of the frames, and companies pay them to make them. Ray ban, Oakley, Cartier, LouisVuitton, Gucci, Prada, Nike, adidas, Marc jacobs, saint laraunt, etc etc are all made in the same place by the same company but that doesn’t mean the quality is the same.

I really need this REEobi tool. We put laminate flooring in our kitchen last year. Then we put the kids, all our luggage, and a crap ton of tools, including my table saw and miter saw, in the mini van and drove 4 hours to my sister in law's house to install a bunch of laminate for her. This little saw would be so much easier to transport. If the miters are accurate, it could be useful in a wood shop, especially for a beginner. If you can't afford a table saw, and you're only building small projects, this might be a solution, depending on the price.

If you lock the saw in the middle of the slide fence it not only locks the saw in place it locks the saw in place for long length ripping in affect a rip saw table set up just use the side fence and run through the saw in one go including long lengths. You don’t need to keep moving the timber when ripping like you did, your welcome 👊👊👍👌😀

I just want to let you know that I have the same saw and it is a god send. I do want to let you know that if you lock the saw to the slide and then put on your rip fence. Then you can lock the saw in the on position and rip up to an 8 foot piece of material by pushing the material through the locked saw from the front to the back. Just use the push stick when you get towards the end of your piece of material.

You are a natural comedian and very good at it. Thanks for the great review and your honesty. Not all tools work as we would like them too. Still wondering why engineers can't make universal tools like saws for lefthanded people. Every try using a chop saw left handed? If not, good luck! I think the locking feature of the saw is also to run your piece like a table saw, that's why it has push stick for right?

A mini track saw on a fixed platform, Kreg has a system similar to this, but this is cute.

I hope the Home Depot starts selling it soon. Getting up and down off the floor at 68 years old is tiresome. I will just slide it along the floor as I move through the room like I do with my ceramic tile cutting board. I also would hook my cordless vacuum to it to keep work area clean. Thanks for the video.

When you lock the saw in the middle of the rail, it stands to reason that you could use the "lock" button on the trigger in operation, and feed material through for a rip cut using the push stick? Kinda like a radial arm saw, no?
@dand3975

That would be excellent for cutting vinyl siding.

Can you lock the saw in position and, then feed a piece of flooring through long ways like a table saw? Using the provided tool?
@mihaitha
@mihaitha 2 жыл бұрын
Looks to me more like that lock is also meant to fix the saw in place and use it like an upside down table saw for longways cuts. What do you think that push stick is for?

I have Festool HKC55. It has detent at 5 degrees increment. It looks like this one doesn’t have any detent. But it is a good attempt to make accurate cuts. And I know Ryobi is not going to break my bank.

Have yet to be disappointed by the Ryobi 18+ equip I have. I primarily have Milwaukee tools, but decided to go with Ryobi for the odds and ends. Low pricing, good quality.

So for cutting engineered hardwood, the short side cuts I prefer to use a mitre saw. But for long cuts, do you think a saw like this is better than a table saw?

It looks like it really works well. But you were cutting vinyl flooring only. What about laminate wood flooring? Is there any height adjustment for thicker flooring materials.

What is the max thickness it can cut? I have never used a 5 1/2" saw blade before. It seams limited like a tile saw is. Also, is there going to be a HP version with a brushless motor? Thanks for the review!
