this game has such a learning curve but when you finally understand it it is so fire also that triple finish at the end was funny as hell

The moment i saw bro pick my boy Battle Kukku, i new he was gonna have a bad time.Hes legendary at keeping his top speed while drifting, but he drives like he got soap for wheels. Took me hours to understand his drift patterns.

Heads up, if you have a deployable item, like bananas, or a drop target, don't drag them behind you, for long, they'll slow you down to the point where you might as well be driving off road. Also, when you do a trick off of a trick panel, if you fast fall back onto the track, you get a rather nice boost. I saw it happen once or twice, but it looked unintentional.

You guys have GOT to try the battle mode. They turned it into a whole fighting game!

ay the game's been updated to v2.2- looks like you're on 2.1 here, there's a buncha gameplay changes in 2.2; they also released an instruction manual on the website

Something I feel as if I need to mention: Sliptiding and Wavedashing is an entire mechanic that the tutorial just _doesn't_ mention. (The tutorial is hot ass and you're better off reading through the manual in the Extras menu) The bottom line of Sliptiding is that whenever you're boosting or using an invincible item (Invincible or Grow) if you tap drift *and then let go of it* during a turn, you get a really tight turn (called Sliptiding) that builds up a vortex behind you. Once you're no longer Sliptiding, the vortex is used up to boost you forwards, which is what is called a Wavedash. Your Wavedash vortex can also be kept if you Sliptide for long enough, but this requires you to be boosting or drifting for as long as you want to keep it, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a racing line planned out or you're playing Weiss Waterway.

The Dolphin is actually Echo, one of SEGA's more well known game characters (that aren't Sonic ofc)

So... your friends were probably having a hard time at their turning because they were using heavy characters, the ones at the bottom part of the character select screen. Their turning is very wide and kinda hard to play for beginners. I mean, in Hydro City, your friend in the bottom left screen was litteraly playing as the character called "Heavy". True to his name, he has the highest weight stat and the lowest top speed stat. The pros of being heavy and slow is that your drift boost is stronger and you have the best acceleration... You know, this comment is already too long, I really suggest you read the manual *TL;DR* : Every character in the game has different stats, but they're *ALL VIABLE* . You just need to find ONE that *clicks with you*
