Today is a very exciting day where I get to install the new Front Runner Load Bars for EGR Rolltrac equipped vehicles. This is a great upgrade that allows me to carry my swag and cargo box with me camping which frees up the entire tray for my fridge and other pieces of equipment.

Looks great mate. I'm very keen to see how practical they are. Might have to grab some myself. Don't forget that Toyota make a retractable step that sits under your tub and attaches to your tow bar to give you easier access to the tub. Much safer than climbing up on your tyre and might help you reach gear on top of your new racks. Best of luck. Love your videos.

Hi Mark. Front Runner make awesome quality gear … which can be a bit on the pricey side but definitely built to last. I do know that they have a Black Friday sale each year where they offer a decent discount on their entire range. I bought a bunch of Front Runner gear for my Prado including a roof rack, slide under table, MaxTrax mounting brackets and a few other bolt on accessories for the roof rack. After eight months of use, everything is holding up perfectly. I know there are a few comments here already about the load rating of your load bar system and although it looks like you’ll be well and truly fine with your tray box and swag, it might be worth touching base with Toyota Australia to see what they have to say. That said, if they’re anything like they were when I asked the same question about the Prado, you probably won’t get a straight answer anyhow. In any case, it’d be a good idea to have that info in the back of your mind that is, if you can manage to track it down.

Great points Rich! Thanks for your comment. The bars are working well so far. They are limited to the rolltrac mounting which is 90kg I believe which like you said, is fine for my purposes but people who want a big rooftop tent and other gear might want to look elsewhere

Hi Mark, with the base of the front seats if you thread the tie off cable threw the top of the plastic side cover then under the seat and tuck the bottom of the seat cover into the plastic side piece makes for a neater fit

Thanks mate! I was thinking of adding some lights. Do a clean DIY setup with some budget lights. Just for a bit of extra light around the campsite too. Great idea 👍

Your Rouge is looking awesome Mark mate 👌 if weight was an issue on your tub racks you could run some Max Tracks, solar panel and some Stedi lights mounted on the rear legs to compliment your puddle lights in your mirrors 😎heaps of lights around it then for your camp site and 4x4 low speed stuff 😀👍

Thanks for the great videos! Appreciated. I like that some of them are based on a reasonable amount of ownership and use, as compared to someone borrowing a new car for a day and more or less just run through the items mentioned in the spec. Great work. I have a question about the shark skin seat covers. I've had a dealership telling me to not put covers on leather seats, something about the stitching digging into the leather, or putting the stitching under too much stress and causing damage. Anything you've come across? Have you removed any of your covers and noticed anything to back up this claim? Thanks! :)

Thank a lot mate. I also bought a 2023 Rogue in January. When it comes to finding aftermarket accessories is a pain in the ass. Can’t even find a suspension lift kit for the car.

Congrats on the purchase mate 👍 Aftermarket parts are difficult to find and at the point there aren’t dedicated kits for our vehicles for suspension but if you are willing to test out springs and other items from other kits, you might find something that works 🤷‍♂️

I chose a snorkel for this particular build due to raising the intake height for water crossings as I went to the cape in this 👍

Do you know if there are any bracing kits for the roller covers to increase the load rating?

Because I think there is a sticker on the roller cover roll that says Max load rating 90kgs. But I'm not sure if that's static or dynamic

Hi Jerome. I am not aware of any additional bracing for the roll trac. Do to this, I would recommend removing the roll trac system and bolt straight into the tub sheet metal. The weak point of the mounting will be the T slots that hold the bolts which in turn allow the fitment of various hardware. The only way around the load rating would be to remove the rolltrac. This is me just thinking out loud 👍

Hey mate, I want to put the Kings Universal Tub rack on my rogue. I was wondering if you know wether or not I need to drill into my tub for the install or if it can be done the same way you did yours

Hi mate. I don’t think it’ll work unless you fab up a bracket to allow install with the bolts facing upright. Those racks are designed as a sand which plate so it will require some modification to make it fit. This is my opinion as no one I know that has a rogue has fit a universal rack

Have you had any problems with your roller? Ive had nothing but problems with mine, every time i go off road it breaks and ive got to take it into toyota to have it repaired.

It has jammed up a few times already. I have service it regularly. Pretty sure the dealerships just do what I do here. There’s not many other functions to fix this besides replacing the whole unit

Hi mate. I wouldn’t say completely waterproof. It still has some water ingress but I haven’t had issues with it wetting my fridge and dust hasn’t been an issue. Some water creeps in and sits under the bed rug

What's the load rating? Can you throw a rooftop tent on?

Thank you for your question, it made me do some digging. I found 3 things. 1. It doesn’t mention it officially anywhere which is interesting. 2. I saw somewhere that it was 100kg load rated but I can’t confirm this 3. Front runner are renowned for making products that’s are mostly limited to the vehicles mounting capability (such as roof weight limits). Put it this way, I’m not concerned about loading this up with all my gear 👍

@North Oz I'm probably preaching to the converted here as I know this isn't your first 4X4 but be careful of your dynamic weight limits vs your static weight limits as well as your tub load rails corresponding limits. The new Next Gen Ranger needs J brackets to support the rails before installing tub racks. Just food for thought before you head out. You probably already know to check this but just in case. 😅

There is a yellow sticker on back of the roller shutter cover inside the tub which states not to put more than 90Kg
