Not really, they changed it really so you could get 2 points off the play not for the 1 or safety. That part of the rule is just in case they block a PAT or intercept the 2 point conversion, run all 100 yards to the other endzone, then fumble it and have the other team recover it in on the 1 then fall into their own endzone. That’s not gonna happen lol

There is an even rarer way to score in Football though where the defense takes it all the way to the offenses end zone on a 2pt conversion, fumbles it, and if the offense gets tackled in their own end zone the. it’s a 1 point safety for the defense. This is very different to the other play though as instead of the offense getting 7 points, the offense gets 6 and the defense 1.

@@churrokidd it is possible though. A long enough time and the sport will eventually have it. A few years back La Tech and Miss state were playing and the offense fumbled at thr 2yd line. One thing led to another, no one could catch it, and it ended up 3rd and 94yds to go

in the Bills-Dolphins game last week Allen fumbled the ball on a 2-pt try and it got bobbled all the way back to the 30 and I thought for a second I was witnessing history (also it didn't matter because he broke the plane first)

No it’s not, it’s similar but it’s not because this is still 7 points for the offense the TRUE dark arts are when it goes all the back to the OFFENSES end zone and they get tackled in their over 90 yards in the wrong direction and it’s then when the defense gets 1 point

The scorigami one is actually different. That’s an offensive safety to get a 6-1 score. This is a defensive safety which would result in a 7-0 score, as if the extra point were successful. At least that’s what I gather from this video.

@@liamgriffin218 It's called a Single- if a punt, a kickoff, or a missed field goal (because the uprights are on the goal line, and the end zone is 20 yards deep- there's always a player in the end zone on FG tries) either goes out of the back of the end zone, or the possessing player is downed in the end zone, it's a point for the Kicking Team. Essentially- there are no Touchbacks on kicks. The CFL is just odd- 12 players instead of 11, 110 yard field, only 3 Downs, pre-snap motion on Offense is allowed, deeper End Zones, Uprights are in a different position, Penalties are called Major Fouls... probably a few more differences I can't remember offhand. Kinda fun to watch- tho!

Yes I thought the same thing. I remember watching a CFL game and on the the kickoff after a touchdown, the kicker kicked it through the uprights and it was 1 point. I thought the NFL should adopt this option....

Fun fact another one point safety is if on a 2pt conversion the defense gets a pick,returns it all the way to the 1 yd line fumble it and the incense recovers in there defending end zone and get tackled,the defense gets 1 pt if that makes sense

The 1 point safety has always existed, but the odds of it happening are miniscule. If the team going for a 1 or 2 point conversation gets tackled in their own end zone, it's worth 1 point.

No, that’s a proper safety and the D team gets 2. He’s saying if the D gets tackled in their end zone whilst blocking a kick or a 2 point conversion then the D who gets tackled in it’s end zone gets 1 point.

@@teganwalker1597 No, the team who is playing defense gets the point. The team who was playing offense BOTCHED their two-point attempt. They wanted two points, but they lost the ball to the other team. They get NO points. SO LIKE ALL SAFETIES, the team that is playing DEFENSE scores. Safeties are NEVER scored by the offense. Are you blind? The offense wanted two points and got zero for their botched attempt. For stealing the ball and possessing it in the end zone, the DEFENSE did their job, so the DEFENSE gets the point. Just think about what a normal safety is! The defense pushes the offense all the way back into their end zone, and the defense gets 2 points. It's the same thing here, except that one point is involved. If you can't see this simple black and white concept, let a friend explain it to you because it's as plain as the nose on your face.

@@teganwalker1597 If you are correct, then this absolutely, positively CANNOT be called a safety, like this video keeps calling it, even though someone was tackled in the end zone. ONLY the defense can score a safety. If a scenario arises like the one that is described in the video, and the point really DOES go to the offense, it must be called a (one-point) EXTRA POINT. You can't call a play a safety, then award one point to the offense. If you're gonna call this a safety, the point has to go to the defense. An offense--for the 37th time--cannot score a safety.

I came up with an idea where kick offs and punts have to stay in the field of play. If it goes out of the end zone on the fly the receiving team gets a point if it goes out of bounds, it’s two points.

Technically the defense can also recieve a 1 point safety. Bocked PAT get run back and he fumbles the ball, offense player picks it up in the field of play and runs into his own end zone gets tackled and the defense receives 1 point.

I thought the 1-pt play was if the team lining up for the PAT (or going for 2) wound up somehow getting tackled in their own endzone -- so a 2-pt try that loses 98 yards. That's how you can end up with a score of 6-1.

If a team attempts a conversion after a touchdown and the kick is blocked or the pass intercepted or fumble recovered and run back it scores for the returning team. It is possible for a team to score 6 points and then GIVE UP 2 on the file PAT. AND have to kick to the team the 6 points were scored against. Seen it in college and CFL. Don't know if this is in the No Fun League rulebook.

Never understood why the nfl doesnt just use the rule the cfl has, that if the ball is kicked through the back of the endzone on a punt/missed PAT/kickoff it should be a single point. Makes it more technical, but also gives an opportunity for a score.
