In this video, I am taking you to the secret tent shack. This place is still going strong after being up for 5 years straight. There's a little wear and tear, but for the most part, it's in very good condition. I'm spending the day warming up, eating a massive burger, and shutting it down for the season.

I think a lot of us have to correct you on one point. We were watching when you put up that tent, when you put in the floors and the walls and all your struggles with different stoves and even cringed a bit when you'd go out and try to start that snowmobile in bitter cold. But it wasn't just about the tent and don't get me wrong, we love the tent but I was one of many who told you that getting the cabin was a good thing and it'll keep you safer and busier than just the tent alone. It was more about you than the tent....the time you brought Crystal up, the time that the propane wouldn't flow and the many times that you said "amazing" to some of the great food that you've prepared. Wherever you spend you're time, the cabin or tent, we'll be watching because it's not about the structure....it's the individual. Cheers.

Here here! We love seeing the evolution of Jay. As you've said, you started with the tent/steel frame, then the tent shack, and now you have a cabin. Jay, I have to say that I was sad to see the tent be shut down. It felt like an end of an era has come. Many good memories and growth have occurred within the tapestry of this little tent. She is worn now but she is trying to stay strong but the cabin is taking her place. My hope is that she will be incorporated into the cabin once she can’t stand anymore. Use her wood to make your cabin better. Take her along with you. I’m glad you explained where you’re at with the transition. Your faithful subscribers will follow you.

Jay you have turned freezing cold tent camping trips into pure art - I know without a doubt, whatever you choose to create content wise, we will all be here ready to enjoy it. Side note - I've never heard snow falling on a wood stove. This sound was so relaxing and intriguing. Little things like that, you probably have heard a million times but many of us who have rarely seen snow or maybe never have, get to experience this through your videos. Thank you!

Heh buddy please don’t forget it’s the “special moments” we share with you that make your channel so special. It’s the experience and not any one thing- other than your genuine personality. About the tent / cabin debate well my two cents worth is simply this; there’s a lot of folks in cabins. There’s sure as hell not many folks out in boonies in a tent at -40 bud. I see your perspective on the cabin keeping you moving forward and truth is I’ll watch wherever you are but please don’t forsake the tent. In the cold it’s special. Cheers.

Jay. I’ve been watching this channel for likely close to 3-4 years. I’ll keep watching even if you get rid of the tent. Progressing to a cabin is normal. Many people start camping in tents, then move to campers, then cabins, then bigger cabins. Your experience is no different. Just keep doing what you are doing and everything will work out as it should.

Jay, my friend, that tent will be a part of you for life. All the memories and the experiences that you've had over the years I have enjoyed along with you. The scenery and the beautiful sky at night is most memorable to me and I guess that's because I love nature. You have taught me so much by what you did with the tent. Till my dying day, when I think of you, I'll always think of you in the tent, standing at the doorway, drinking your hot beverage while looking out at the snow-covered beauty of your little piece of Paradise. On your new quest in the cabin in the woods, I am looking forward to new and just as memorable times ahead of you and us, your viewers. If at all possible, always keep the tent and revisit often. It's like being torn between two lovers...one is tried and true while the other is new and exciting. Thank you for giving this 67-year-old woman something to look forward to in her old age. The best is yet to come for you, Crystal and the "Pup".

I am obsessed with these camping out in freezing snow videos, but I like yours the best. You explain what’s going on and some of the others are ridiculous tome. They go into the forest, spend hours setting up the tent and stove, then getting wood., spending the night then the next day packing up and leaving. I’m thinking, stay a couple of days. Enjoy the view.

I appreciate the little details that you've worked on on your evolution through your journey on KZfaq, the drone footage, the panning shots of your surroundings, and i can see the effort you put into placing cameras and backtracking to get the perfect shots. Your videos only get better and better, and your woodworking is great for someone that's relatively new to it. The only thing i would suggest is increasing the torque setting on your drill slightly, so you don't get the drill hitting resistance until your screw is pretty much at its full travel. Awesome job with the cabin, it's turning into a great haven and it's looking good

Also I know you like the sawdust with old oil for starting fires but I saw another one last week where they used the cotton face pads, the little circle ones, and rubbed them in Vaseline stored them in a little circle tin pulled one out when they needed tossed it on top of the wood lit the lighter and it started immediately.

love the tent so much that I went out and bought me a 10X12. Haven't set it up yet but will. I have also come to really enjoy your cabin videos as well. I'd hate to see the tent videos stop, but know that we all have to do what we need to do. Just keep putting out your videos. Thanks for the enjoyment and entertainment. Vince

The tent's a beautiful portion of our lives too, Jay - you made it that way. But nobody's here to look at a pile of wood and canvas. It's what's inside...

Jay it's great to watch your videos. The tents been a great servant but I think it's time you put all your time &resources into getting the cabin to where you want it to be! After that maybe go back & reestablish the tent once everything is sorted & you have the time to spare! Good luck mate.

My husband got me in to watching you. We both now look forward to your videos. I love the videos you do at the cabin & when you talk. You have a lovely voice. We both love the snow, but in the UK we hardly get any. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to in the future.

We will take your tent over Jay lol. Your new camp is truly exciting, and amazing. You deserve what comes to you. Your my number 1 channel to fallow. Your so humble, willing to learn, admit when your wrong. Buffy, and Chrystal are just wonderful addition to your status.

Jay, I absolutely love your videos, they're not only stories I can dive into and just relax while fantasizing about what would it be like to be that far up north and have a place like that, but also you're a great inspiration for me to do things that connect us to our roots and pursue challenges out in nature. I am sad to see the tent go but I'm also extremely happy for you to see that you've found a way to challenge yourself and follow your heart. Lastly, as I was watching the video and writing this comment, I saw likes go up real time from 300 to 370 and they're still going... this just puts a huge smile on my face :) and evidently to many others seeking adventure! Thank you.

I watch the channel because I get bored if the wifi is down or the power goes out, so it's interesting to watch someone stay in a remote area, also it looks cozy in the winter.

I'm a relative newbie and have only been watching you for 2 years. But you've helped me through an incredibly difficult, and at times dark time, of my life. I like the tent but all things must pass and the cabin seems to be where your heart is now. Long live the cabin!

I think the fact that the is place still holds such a special place to yourself and to the Chanel having you come out and just relax, nothing to fix, nothing to work on, just cooking, chopping wood, making a fire would be a great video every other week or something, even doing some renovations or little fixes would be cool too, but overall I would love to see videos on the tent still, just being in the element is already hard enough, so it’s cool anyways

Hi Jay, love watching your channel. Whether it's from this tent, the Russian Bear tent or the cabin. I enjoy watching all aspects of your days there. I've gotten so many ideas of the food you cook. Love from Washington State USA. From this 66 yr old nana who absolutely loves to camp. Oh btw...love Montreal Steak seasoning on everything.

It's sorta sad to see tent season come to an end. But there is a lot to look forward to as you continue your renovation and expansion of the cabin. I think the sky's the limit for your channel. The good news is that winter will be back "really soon!" Take care until next time.

I enjoy the tent-cabin or the new cabin or just the tent you sometimes use. The cabin is currently my favorite as I like the bonus building part.

Hi Jay! Love your shows. I feel like the tent is more deep in your soul than the cabin. I love both but go back to the original music you played and do not give up on the tent. Love.
