Probably the most influential but underrated artist of all time! You can even call him a pillar or one of the foundations of alternative music! Bob was a music genius other than living in Bikini Bottom serving crabby patties! 😁 Jokes aside Bob Mould really was one force to be reckoned with in Alternative music! Oh did I tell you he was also in Husker Dü and is a very well known music producer for rock and alternative bands. After calling it a day with Husker Dü, Bob created Sugar a Pop Rock band that's still very punk-ish like Husker Dü. Although it's a lot more mature and pop punk sounding, Sugar was able to win new fans when they came out in the 90's. I remember as a young kid hearing Helpless for the first time I was amazed how well the guitars were balanced in the sense it was distorted but still was very pleasant to the ears and very melodic. This became a formula for modern alternative music as we know it.
*The song "Helpless" is originally played in standard tuning EADGBE with a capo on the 5th fret. I wanted to play it without the capo so I had to alter the melody lead lines a little bit. Added a little of my flavor also replacing open chords with power chords. To my surprise it sounded ok! Well at least it wasn't brutally butchered. 😁 I hope you guys like it! It's really not that bad! 🤣 ✌️
