The use of plastic explosives in WWII was widespread, given how easy they were to transport and form. Here, an OSS agent recounts a near-fatal attempt to make bread out of powdered Composition C.

I know this explosive... Its not actually poisonous.... Its just recommended not to eat it. It makes you throw up and the earlier formulation did it. Later it was improved upon so you wouldnt throw up. Part of this is actually because should you be stopped by nazis or Japanese soldiers you could actually eat it as a means of showing anyone inspecting it that it was edible. It's contain in the Ukrainian american chemist George Kistiakowsky notes that he intentionally made it so it was non toxic if ingested. I recall that the nazis had seized a bag of HMX as the allies were heading for normandy from partisans. They proceeded to cook the whole bag into pancakes and took a bite before declaring the bag of flour as the worst bag of flour they had ever eaten. Other partisans had bags as well and were successful in blowing up a supply rail that could of been used to move troops and supplies to fight back against the D day landing.

People still see the oss and cia as like a shady conspiratorial entity. It’ll cause a lot of social unrest especially among the youth and make people become radical. Vast majority of people don’t bother to search for a clearly unbiased truth. They are influenced by their own emotions and own experiencies instead of using others perspectives which is all that matters.

People like you fascinate me, armed with the knowledge acquired watching 'wile e coyote' and/or hollywood movies and blessed with that rare combination of stupidity+arrogance . You' not only anointed yourself an 'explosives expert' but were delusional enough to share your opinion publically. *LMFAO* There's a reason plastic explosives use 'blasting caps' to initiate detonation vs say....a super long match lol. For detonation to occur they need to reach a specific thermal constant with a very short time window. Industry standard for explosives like 'Composition C' (forefather of c-4) is *No.8 B lasting Cap* _just google that for the technical specs_ *LMFAO* I know you won't, your intellectual curiosity level is..well challenged I'm know cook, but unless this guy was cooking buns at 290c/550f the explosive as proven will not be affected.....at that temperature...it starts to decompose...no *BOOM* ...just becomes useless Given this mixture was specifically formulated for this method of delivery...I'm sure they boosted the thermal limit....just in case Did you really think the Smithsonian, will upload bullsh88 that will end up destroying their brand, with everyone questioning authenticity of all uploads and items in the museum
