What happened at the end was that the castling would transfer the damage to the rooks. The bullets didn’t just go between the king and bishop

It took this many episodes of Shotgun King for me to realize that white pieces can take you on ANY turn, not just when they're ready to move. Was under the impression that only white pieces that were preparing to move would be able to take your piece. I was very confused whenever Tyler would make a move to avoid dying to a piece that wasn't moving that turn.

14:40 Since final floor king is 2x2 big, castling doesn't actually swap rook's and king's places and instead rook takes all damage the king would take.

Your bullets didn’t miss the final boss, the damage just transferred to the castle like before, they just didn’t trade places like the small kings. Maybe it was because the castle was on the board edge or not trading places is how the final boss do.

Other KZfaqrs: Has an intro Aliensrock: I’ve just unlocked a really weird shotgun. I know technically has one but it’s usually straight to the point, and I don’t feel like I’m missing out that much when he doesn’t do one. I like this about Tyler and the way he makes his videos.

at 7:40 you might have been able to attack the king and force a castle so the rook is no longer checking you to perhaps save some souls

They changed knock back so that "knocked back" enemies can not kill you at all but you can still knock an enemy out of the way of another piece and it would harm you

Top tier intro, props to the editors

I'm loving the editing lately. They're adding a lot of visual clarity when you explain your moves and the intros are pure class.

At 0:34 the blunderbuss was worth it, as you had 3 power over 75°, which gives you one bullet/power per 25°. Buying blunderbuss would give you 5 power over 105°, which is 1 power/bullet per 21°, so making you more likely to hit an enemy. (Combined with other upgrades it might be different though )

I can’t wait to see when Tyler learns he can click to speed up the start and ending animations per floor.

I think this video was the most interesting of the Shotgun King ones so far for me. I really enjoyed that you weren't afraid to make the white pieces much stronger.

they actually changed the game btw, in the previous update, youd get killed for knocking an enemy in check, in the new update, you can ACTUALLY SAVE YOURSELf with a knockback, queens got you in check, just shoot it and it will be knocked back, and wont attack you even if your in its path Edit: @Aliensrock just letting you know for next time lol...

with this a 360 no scope gets a new meaning

7:40 While I don't have the full version yet I'm unsure how it behaves, but if you try to risk hitting the king instead of moving it would cause the king and the rook to swap places, and since they swap places you would no longer be in check.

There's a secret ending i saw on another channel where you kill all pieces except one bishop before you kill the king. It may require the theocracy upgrade though.

A little tip for the castle card, not only can it put you *in* a bad spot, but it can get you *out* of one as well. for example if a rook has you trapped, you could shoot the king and that would move the rook out of the way.

Love seeing these. Every great run is so different, it’s addicting

That was entertaining but not taking rats was hurting my soul, like the shotgun he had was literally clearing out like every piece before hitting the king. Rats would have done soooo much damage

You can strafe when using souls. It's a decent way to replace a soul with a higher level one as well

I can't confirm this myself as I don't have the game, but apparently there is a secret boss that you can fight if you beat the final boss with a single bishop remaining with the red book in play. It even changes the ending a little. Even more if your shotgun is still loaded after taking the final shot. I thought it was interesting and thought to mention it in case you never heard about it and wanted to try it.

Yo Aliensrock you HAVE to check out a game called The Last Spell, it's like into the breach x they are billions. I've never played a more unappreciated underreported game in my life. All characters are randomly generated with random starting traits, FULLY RANDOM SKILL TREES and you constantly unlock more variety as you go. Just as I was starting to think i've seen most of the skill tree options generate after 3 games I unlocked more skill trees generated on every hero and more skill trees i'd never seen before to generate random skills on.

You should do a maximum enemy synergy run after you've beaten everything.

Something about the card that alows the kind to castle is you can shoot the king to get the rook away from you

at 7:43 the best choice was to shoot the king bc it would have moved the rook into a more favorable position

U were wrong - the gift makes it so your first clip has the buff - meaning you would have had 9 damage for 3 shots. The ways it goes away are - SHOOT move (reloads one shell) and reload - meaning you could move all the way up to the pawn wall and BLAST 3 shells 9dm each

This update massively increased the difficulty because they added a lot of weaker black cards. Before almost every black card was a huge buff to you, but now many do next to nothing.

How do you acquire this gun? I checked my game, and as far as I can tell there are no updates, nor do any of the guns show that they have pierce built in.

Pieces can not be knocked back into checking and killing you according to the patch notes

While the physical act of castling does not affect the final boss, all damage that would affect the king is transferred to the rook. The bullets did not thread the needle, they just hit the king's shield. Who was not at all covering him. But still blocked every bullet. This makes no sense.
