Taylor Mitchell was just 19 years old when she was brutally mauled to death and ripped into pieces by a pack of coyotes on the Skyline Trail in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just brutally honest... It's very difficult to watch these videos with the volume on... The way the narrator speaks in like nails on a chalk board, its not the sound of her voice which is actually pleasant but the way she speaks... Please, please, please stop narrating in this manner and go back to speaking more like the first 2-3 videos... You would most definitely get more views...

I've heard this story before. This only happened because this woman was small. She fought like hell but lost her life. One unarmed pissed off loud menacing man could have saved her. It's such a sad animal attack story because the circumstances are 1 in a million. She wasn't deep in the woods somewhere. It was in the open on a popular public trail. Idk about those Coyotes having wolf blood, but they where still smaller than a black lab or golden Retriever. 50 pounds max. The size of a large 5 year old. So sad. The average man could have sent these animals to their maker if it even escalated that far.

* The part of the story that ticked me off is that no one came to her defense. They heard her screams, but not one person was willing to go to her and help. There probably were limbs or rocks that anyone could have picked up along the way.

They looked big in the photo the couple took, and seemed heavier than a black lab. When a wild animal is riled up, it's the teeth that can take a person down, even a man, especially as there were two of them. The couple might've been too far away to help her. They tried to warn the girl about them, but it's a public trail and no doubt seemed safe. I read she fought the animals with a knife, but obviously lost. It's very sad, we're so fragile when out of our element.

I wish the woman that's narrating it the best as it must be pretty sad listening the her speak all the time, god help how negative an annoying she must sound especially when on her period or going through pregnancy! My god how could you not point that out too, but I suppose its meaningless an what is important is what she is speaking about. I'm only joking ( kind of ) Regarding this poor woman's I too feel awful an wish the best for them, as a father of 3 it sure makes you think the possibility of trauma this would endure. It destroys the lives of the whole family when something like that happens, each family member deal with it differently. Some people deal with it drink/drugs, some gets angry & some have the initiative to fight whatever circumstances took their loves one. I wish you a Merry Christmas, it gives you more fuel to think how lucky we are an how unlucky some are, I mean for example imagine losing them on a day like Christmas now that is heartbreaking...

They already warned her, but she dismissed it and headed that way on her own will and judgement. Smart people are not going to risk their lives over people making stupid decisions. When you try to fuck with wild animals with no weapons on hand, you are fighting a losing battle especially when there are more than one of them around.

I had two coyotes in my back yard, in a very urban area, late at night. They were about the size of a German Shepherd, a bit taller, and a bit less stocky., but close.

Wow that’s scary last week I had one approach me while walking. It was malnourished and was the only one so when it realized i wasn’t gonna be easy prey it ran off to stalk a man who was walking to other direction with his back to it. Sadly i was too far away to yell since they were both out of sight in a matter of seconds, hope that guy got home safe though.

What pisses me off is the cpl heard her screaming and called 911 instead of going to see if they could have helped her. They could called 911 and went to help. I don't blame them for not going back but damn. I couldn't have not went for her if i had heard her being attacked.

I wouldn't carry an ar15 to the zoo or the meat section of the grocery store; there is no need. I personally wouldn't be caught dead in a national forest without one. Bear, wolf, or pack of cyotoe are skilled lethal killers, i.e. apex and lesser predators. Carrying an ar15 with a 30 round mag, several backup mags, and a 10mm pistol is as usual and customary caution as wearing a seatbelt. Negligence masquerading as innocence is the misinformation some live by. Her life derserved more caution. Lest you think otherwise, rangers who respind to attacks like this carry shotguns and pistols. Why shouldn't you or I. You be the judge. The veey deepest of respect for her kost life, and the deep grievous painful loss to her mother, extended family, friends and fans. Ask not for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for thee.

Coyotes aren't so dangerous that you need a full load out. It's not like you are going to empty your primary and have to switch to your secondary in the heat of battle. Might as well carry a couple claymores just incase you cross the main coyote insurgency.

When one predatory animal is out there targeting prey, so too are bigger more capable predators like, Bears, Wild Boars, who follow behind the less capable predatorial animals to take their kill. Clearly women very much need men. I've fought off a pack of 5 wild dogs in Cambodia. If her Mum was present she should've at least have suffered injuries herself in her all out attempt to save her daughter. If she was in her 70's or more fair enough. Otherwise it smacks of extreme cowardice. After all she was fit enough to go hiking with her daughter.

Dont get bent over facts, the wild is not rainbows & unicorns! She suffered a horrible mauling and was slowly being eaten alive! Her mom was aware of her demise and didnt want animals shot but they were! Wild coyotes and wolves do not wait until you're dead to eat! And these kids nowadays dont use common sense, so they need to be aware of consequences when it comes to wildlife, especially trying to pet wild animal - which many short video do show!

Usually coyotes are pretty small and poorly fed. One exception was how to place called wind wolves preserve in the southern San Joaquin Valley of california. And trying to find a way up a mountain I follow the tracks of what look like possibly 120 lb German Shepherd in order to follow some California elk I'd seen on top of the mountain earlier. Sure enough the tracks led me up the mountain but I started realized there were no human tracks at all. Entering some 3 ft tall grass I started making noise clapping so that I wouldn't get bitten again by a Western Diamondback snake, luckily I'm not allergic but it still has an effect on me when I get bitten. When suddenly at about 50 ft in front of me a coyote stood up. My instinct was because it was so large that it was a wolf but there were no wolves in California and there were no other wolves around and the color of the fur was brown. Then realizing it was a coyote I could see just this amazingly powerful build and it's front legs and chest. It was a beautiful animal but it stood making no noise just showing me it's teeth. Anyway I needed to make sure it knew I wasn't hunting it and that I also was not it's prey so it took a few minutes before I was able to continue up the mountain to seek out the California elk. This is the most beautiful coyote I've ever seen. I'm guessing it was somewhere between 120 to 140 lb. It was massive. As often as a height in that region, I never came across the coyote again.

The eastern coyote is also mix will Wolf and they are a lot bigger over this way and they’ve been attacking people by me in Jersey. Right down the street we had two attacks that are on animal planet on TV. But they’re all around and I see some giant ones that look like wolves. I remember when I was 16 years old and nobody seen any coyotes around here ever my father and my grandfather nobody ever .. while hunting all their life also .. and they had the military bring in coyotes for their fenced in areas that are hundreds of acres long and they got loose of course because most of those fence they didn’t fix. So nobody knows what the hell they were thinking but now we have a hybrid coyote’s in Jersey .. it’s even known the eastern coyote has Wolfblood it

Where in NJ do you live???? I grew up in Hardwick (Blairstown), my Dad used to hunt every Deer season until a tragic accident , which left me with PTSD and him as well, but yeah , they tried reintroducing the coyotes into North Western NJ, the Delaware Water Gap area, back in the late 70’s early 80’s!!!! I can remember hearing them while trying to go to sleep!!!! Although we had a small farm chickens a few cows and sheep they never bothered with them at all, but now I hear of pets being taken not just little ones either , so I’m very interested to know where they are attacking human beings, seriously, PLEASE, let me know , ok??? Thank you so much for the information !!!!!!

An animal that has killed and eaten a person will begin actively hunting humans for food. This is why they must be killed. At least that's the rationale.

Don't u know they r for target practice..duh..I remember when I was in my teens my buddies would play the dying rabbit tape over the radio it was at night, base of a mountain..and it would draw the pack in and you would here them..and yes we shoot them..was fun..that's what we did for fun..and yes it was fun....still do it when I get the chance...👍👍👍👍..

Coyotes mixed with wolves and Shepard or huskies will eat anything that smells edible. In packs they are like sharks after blood. As fall and winter set the food supply becomes less and they are more aggressive.

Hundreds of Coyotes live near my cabin hear on the Salt Fork of the Brazos River here in Texas. They start yapping, and singing every night. Ranchers around here shoot on sight.

When we go upstate from NYC and hear howls all.night, tine to get the guns or go inside. However we're always on the lookout in this rural area. We use basically the same skills we used growing up in New York City.
