These replicas are getting too close for comfort. As a watchmaker l have found only one simple way to spot a fake Patek or Rolex. Ok you need to open the watch.... so maybe its not so simple. The balance wheel is regulated by small weights on the balance wheel. It's called a free sprung balance wheel and is very difficult to make and adjust. Most balance wheels are simply adjusted by changing the length of the spring using an extra arm that pinches the spring. All fakes use this method!! I know that sounds complicated but a two minute search with photos will give you all the Information you need and you will be able to spot a fake easily. It's not difficult. If the fakers learn to copy this too then lm giving up and going to sell straw hats and coconuts on a beach somewhere.

The clone is so good that I cannot quite figure out why the people who made it couldn't accurately match the original 5711's dial colour.

I know a guy who purchased multiple super fakes of his favorite watches so he can wear them around 24/7 without worrying about them getting stolen or damaged. He keeps the real ones in a safe back at home, so they don't collect wear and tear. He goes to a lot of parties and fundraisers and hasn't ever had a single person ask him if his watch was fake or imply that it might be fake. And he told me that he got the idea from a friend of his who was a watch collector who did the same exact thing. And if you're ultimate goal is to pass the watch off as authentic to a perspective buyer you can even pay extra and get them to use a real cloned serial #, invoice & paperwork showing the watch was privately sold to you from the original owner that the watch was officially sold too and is probably still in possession of the real one. With this type of provenance rarely will a watch maker even open the watch unless they're a red flag like the weight being off or the material being the wrong type which both are taken care of with super fakes now. Heck, even the CNC machines they use to make the watch parts can produce a surface finish that is similar to a human manually lapping the parts and even leave patterns that look like the part was hand finished. Also, this isn't just happening with watches. This is also happening with designer clothing, bags, jewelry, shoes, etc. You name it and super fakes are being manufacture right that rival the real thing for quality of materials and construction. This has also been a huge problem for electronics lately. People have been selling Air pods Max super clones on Facebook for $300 that they buy for $150 that look, feel and weigh the same as real air pods max and even have interchangeable magnetic ear pads, proper markings and even register with the device as a proper air pods max but the sound quality isn't quite as good (it's good enough to fool anyone that hasn't listened to a real pair though). I even had a friend who picked up a pair for $300 and I told them they were probably fake when they said they got them from Facebook. The giveaway ended up being how the band adjusted and how it wasn't smooth as the real thing. But the packaging was perfect and it was shrink-wrapped when they purchased it. They fakes are so good now that even the Apple Store checks every single headset being returned to make sure the serial # on it matches a sale to the same person in their database and it matches between the packaging and the headset because they have been burned since even their employees can't tell them apart without pairing them and doing A-B testing.
