One of the craziest ideas we've seen in a while is a PC case with its side panel switched out for a display. Does it actually work and more importantly, can we GAME on it? ;)

I like the display side panel. I ended up ripping apart an old dell monitor, bought some high density LED's and stuck all of it to the side of my current PC's tempered glass. Works great, most all of my components are white anyway so everything really pops. Upping the contrast and digital vibrance could help too. Its nice having wallpaper engine to display a graphic as well as rainmeter to show stats.

I picked up one on sale on Cyber Monday. The first thing in noticed is that my GPU was 10c higher than in the NZXT H500 I transplanted it from. I pulled out that stupid plastic grill, replaced the front fans and moved one of the old ones to be a top exhaust. That pretty much brought me back to where I was in the H500. It's a completely useless novelty, but it's pretty cool for what it is. I've spent way too much time in wallpaper engine playing with the display.

Might be interesting to apply some sort of translucent white frost on the inside of the glass... yes it would obscure trying to see through, but you'd be able to utilize the screen better, and depending on how translucent the frost is, you may not lose too much visibility of the components inside.

I built a white system in the Thermaltake V21, with a home-made LCD mod in the side panel. It connects to a usb header on the motherboard for power and video. The LCD was sourced from a portable monitor I got for $40 used. Works perfect and is also in landscape for great viewing angles.

It is most handy to display your hardware monitoring at the bottom over the hardware shroud and just what ever cool active wall paper you want running for decoration. If you are the type to run a second monitor just for hardware monitoring this will cover you. However a second monitor has many other uses such as stream/monitoring/youtube/tv on the side that i ended up with 2 monitors anyway but still ran hardware monitors on the case. It is at least as good as just cramming RGB into a case if not better as it at least serves a function

I thought of making a laptop out of a case and found this video. If you think about it's just an all"in"one, but if we can install a better screen and have the option to switch between seethrough and black and also be able to flip the screen like a camera screen or a laptop, would be absolutley amazing. Just being able to turn on/off the screen like the LED's. This could be a game changer. Now you have a huge laptop where the money is well spent haha. You can either play horisontally or vertically.

The idea behind build-in tn panel is good, it is just that at the moment many many graphics cards have glitches when using multiple monitors that have different aspect ratios, resolutions and refresh times. If I would buy one I would hook up raspberry pi to this display and show some cool graphics and maybe some social media feed/email feed (though if not for above mentioned issues I would above all prefer cool graphics+system resources+notification icons like in android for new emails etc.)
