THIS PLACE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD - PERITO MORENO GLACIER TREKKING!
In this video we spend a few days exploring the incredible Los Glacieres National Park and seeing Perito Moreno glacier up close before getting to hike 9with crampons) on the glacier. The whole experience is incredible and as the title says, this place is out of this world! If you ever get the chance to visit the South of Argentina do yourself a favour and get yourself here, it is a sight that will stay with you forever and leave you in complete awe of natures ability, creativity and patience.
We hope we have been able to capture some of the magic of this place to share with you all here, enjoy!

Ahh the shades of blue in the glacier are incredible to see 💙 🥰 thank you for explaining why the shades vary...and why the glacier is blue, I really didn't know why. I would also be nervous trekking on the glacier...when you can hear parts of it crashing down 😳😬 Yeaaa for celebrating with whiskey and chocolate 🙌 what an unforgettable adventure!

We had no idea why it was blue until we went to the glacierium, it’s something I’d never thought about until I saw them in real life then read it. Glad I’m not the only one that would be nervous, the whiskey went down so well!🥃😄

The fall of the ice that is seen is not due to climate change, on the contrary it is due to a natural process that gives rise to a wonderful spectacle and occurs approximately every four years. The glacier in its growth reaches the peninsula of land forming as a dike Not being able to circulate, the water raises its level and begins to press against the wall of the glacier. Leaks begin to appear that erode this natural dam until that ice bridge that can be seen in the image is formed. Finally it collapses and the cycle starts again

Hello everybody! There's an excurtion the guys didn't do, and I think it's the best one to know the park, and in the same awesome and unforgetable scale of the treaking, and it's the navigation trough Lago Argentino. You get to see so many other glaciers, big and small, like Upsala, the biggest in Argentina, and Spegazzini, the tallest, and it reaches Perito Moreno too, so you can see the north face from the boat too. I did the treaking and the navigation in 2009, they are not cheap, but I would regret so much going there and not doing both, I was lucky I could afford it. So guys, you need to come back now!!!☺
@TideKnotTravellers
@TideKnotTravellers Жыл бұрын
We almost booked the navigation too but yes the trips are so expensive in El Calafate 😅 we need to come back as the border to Torres Del Paine was shut so we can do the navigation one day when we return to this part of the world 🌎

@@TideKnotTravellers Yes, it is expensive, even more for us argentines, because it seems they kept the prices on an international level… It was expensive in 2009, it is even more for us now, sadly. I hope you can return! Good luck.

That glacier is incredible! I didn't realize how big the national park is there and now I want to visit for sure. It does sound slightly expensive, but what an experience! I think we'd only do the 3 hour trek if my hubby would even be able to do that - but I think he'd want to try for sure. Craig was killing it with the quotes in this episode 😂 The blue colours are stunning. Loved the outtakes!

We're coming to El Calafate in November. What company was the trek on Perito Moreno book with? Is it worth booking it on the spot as opposed to online to get the cheaper price?
@TideKnotTravellers
@TideKnotTravellers 2 жыл бұрын
You will get it much cheaper by paying in cash because you can use the unofficial rate (see the prices we put at the bottom of the screen, huge difference!) but I would recommend booking with Hielo y Aventura the first day you arrive in El Calafate, they are right on the main high street with all the restaurants and tour places but they are the only company that operate the glacier trekking. The best advice I can give you is arrive in El Calafate with a lot of pesos on you already as there are only two WU’s to get cash and they have a small limit 60-80,000 pesos and often run out altogether.
