Күн бұрынThe Sea Vixen in War Thunder is equipped with enough ordinance to be a good ground pounder and fly close air support. With 2 Bullpup Missiles, 2 Bombs and 2 Red Tops it has potential to do a lot of damage to the enemy team.
The Sea Vixen FAW Mk2 is an extremely powerful aircraft with some serious thrust. Not only does it look cool, it's got the performance to make other planes at this BR look like they're standing still. It turns really well at altitude and high speeds and it's a great platform for dropping ATGM's from height.
The only criticism I have for the Sea Vixen is that obviously it doesn't have cannons. This is a huge let down when it comes to shooting down helicopters or destroying enemy light tanks or open tops. If you do manage to get yourself slow then you're in some serious danger to enemy aircraft. With your handling characteristics as well, you can also fall victim to AAM's.
Overall, it's pretty average and can really let you down depending on how Ground Realistic Battles go.

As someone who owns the warrior, it can be really good, its just most of the other ifvs are better and it would be nice if they added one of the later warrior modles because i know that there are plenty

I always try to catch an OddBawz video before I start rounds at the hospital. Kind of a new tradition. Some day I'll come across a patient playing WT or Watching Oddz and I can finally can talk shop about bouncing shots and rotating armor. lol. Keep up the vidz

The game freezing appears to be affecting a lot of people. Phly has had it happen on video, and I get stuttering almost every match. Probably something that needs to be fixed on gaijin’s side.

After the latest big patch (Red Skies?) I noticed a solid 30% drop in FPS. And while I have managed to make it run smoothly again, I've noticed that it eats more and more ram, the longer I'm playing. Memory leak somewhere?

Great vid'. This brings back memories. As a kid in the mid 1960s we lived near to the Royal Navy airstation at Yeovilton. On sunny days dad would drive us to the base perimeter, park up, and we'd watch the Sea Vixens (and other aircraft) taking off and landing. No one ever challenged what we were doing, some days there would be a few dozen people. There was no security fence in those days, just a low hedge with a five bar farm gate that we would sit on. Happy days.

They really need to add the burst mode to that 30mm cannon. So many people in the army who have operated the warrior and play the game say that gajin have butchered it!

The warrior can’t fire in burst? It’s repetition and fully auto. It just fires a little slower in game than in real life. You might be confusing the fact we fire in 3 round cycles cos of the way you load ammo into the breech.

Incorrect, the Vixen was designed at a time where it was believed guns where obsolete and missiles where the way to go. In the 1950´s a number of nations would develop such concept with the more famous being the U.S with the F-4 Phantom II, as such planes like the Vixen would only carry missiles for air combat. Of course these concept would prove to be rather unsucessfull during the Vietnam War as early missiles where rather unreliable and heavily limited in capabilities

As a warrior gunner irl, this thing gives me so much joy to play and I stuck a talisman on it right away. The rate of fire feels a little slower than real life but be grateful you don’t have to stiffen the cranks after every shot or squint at a tiny thermal tv to see your target.

I love the Warrior, it’s definitely not the best IFV, in fact it probably is the worst statistically, but the handicaps just make doing well that much more satisfying lol. My best is 8 kills, and 6 were with the cannon. One of the most fun things is sniping other IFVs with the 30mm, once got a BMP-3 at over 2km! Oh and since the addition of commander gunnery, I’ve been using the commander sight to aim the atgm, since it’s much closer to the launcher so easier to tell if you’re clear of terrain/obstacles.

I went to the 'de HAVILLAND' museum on Wednesday - I seen the Vampire, Venom and Vixen there. Very interesting place - the thing that surprised me most was the fact that the Mosquito carried a 4K Bomb which were dropped on factories over Germany during the war - but they are not in WT :P Happy days

Hey odd can you play any of the zeros in air rb, for whatever reason when I play it the Huns suck big time and the plane is a fireball before I even get looked at. Meaning good turn but bad everything else might be a fun plane

There is a variant called the desert warrior made for export. Different turret with a bushmaster and twin tow launchers.

Just a random idea. I saw in the intro your missile got destroyed. Then it hit me... we hate the g91 R3 for those missiles. Challenge! Be CIWS and play M163 and shoot down Missiles (mainly air to ground)

It's far from the best, but I like the warrior. I'd say it's a very capable IFV, it just can't go head on with an MBT like certain other ones. It's a scout, and should be played as one. Britain does need a better IFV though to compete with things like the dardo, BMP2 and Bradley. Maybe something like the desert warrior, which has a bushmaster and twin tow launchers. There's also the Verdi 2 which would be interesting, armed with a CTIA 40mm and the starstreak weapons system. Shame they fucked up the AJAX though, so we won't see that any time soon.

^this. if you play it like an IFV the lack of stab means nothing. the gen 2 thermals + Milans and 100mm sabot belt more than make up for its short comings.

@@ThatAusGamer Bigest mistake players make, they focus on the bad things like no stabilizer as if every vehicle needs it to be good or the awfull rate of fire and clip reload. They disregard the fact its highly mobile, gen 2 thermals, plenty of powerfull Milan 2 missiles. They also forget they have 100mm of full APDS belts, they can penetrate Leopard turrets frontally and take out breaches, from the side nothing is safe and you can usualy kill the gunner or turret ring in the first 2 or 3 shots

Warrior fires at every 0.75 sec (80 rounds/min is still horribly slow), 1.1 sec is the reload time for each clip.

I see it's got rocket capacity- how good are they at fire and break vs. AA? I've seen you put rocket pods to good use in defeating AA before.

@@OddBawZ Disappointing. I know the RL Sea Vixen could at least use HEAT rockets in its SNEB rocket pods, but the British used Microcell 51mm rockets instead. Why? The usual 68mm ones apparently had a tendency to self fire on the deck due to interference from ship carrier radars. Naval Harriers got the same JL351 pods for the same reason.

The RN pods fire vast quantities of 2 inch HE, can be used as a poor mans gun but no armor pen. Your other options are the HE and AP versions of RP3 that have been around since rank 2
