The beautiful thing about the internet is that the Jews get to debate these Christian ideas on our own terms. We aren’t put in front of kangaroo courts where we have to hide what we believe in order for the Talmud not to get burned. This is a blessing.

Why is there a need to study in Hebrew? All the languages are created by God, so one can study whatever the language they know and come to know the truth which is YESHUA JESUS is the only Messiah, there's nobody at any time. In fact, Judaism is the un fulfilled religion whereas Judea Christianity is the fulfillment of Judaism. Isaiah 53 talks about YESHUA, which is physically provable by challenging the power of bullets based on Isaiah 54:17. YESHUA did back then and the same is repeated now in the 21st century. So, Judaism of Tovia Singer is absurd.

@@godevidence2834 All languages are created by God, but if you *really* want to understand and study, you read it in its original language, this is just common sense. Christian’s mistranslate and run with ideas from texts because they have no clue about the language. As a Muslim, I’ve seen Christian’s do this with my scriptures too, it’s totally embarrassing. All they care about is the Holy Spirit and the trinity.

@whitebird357 I know what you mean and I agree truth is most Christians don't study deeply into the bible. They will skip around and read certain passages, that's really as far as they go. If they do read a whole book or chapter whatever you want to call it they will read a gospel or a new testament book..😐 BUT!!!.... Pastors!.. have NO EXCUSE!! Unfortunately I believe those pastors used to be those Christians I just spoke about above 😬.. Because I was a super zealous Christian for the last 6 years, I had deep questions. I had multiple people always reaching out to me asking me to teach Bible classes. How is even asked to Pastor or start my own church 😮😂... And that was due to me knowing a lot of the scriptures and helping people find their faith. I never felt worthy enough to do that. But i had a couple questions of my own.. big questions. Well more than a couple. And after asking many pastors Christians you name it, and never getting an answer or being ignored or getting the whole roundabout.. I decided to look into it myself and speak to some Jews and rabbis that the pastors used to tell me to stay away from whatever you do don't talk to them because they hate the true God!... And now here I am😂... sure I can smile now a little bit but in the beginning the first two weeks I was devastated and in tears for most of the day.. Can't really see it any other way now. But I still question the Hebrew Bible if it's true or not. But that wasn't my point I was trying to see if the New Testament was credible

✝️ JESUS IS THE MESSIAH THAT DANIEL PROPHESIED ✝️ The Messiah had to have come in Daniel Week 69, that was in the days of Rome, for the Prince Messiah of Week 69 is also the Prince of the Covenant (who brought the New Covenant) of Daniel 11:22 and is the same Prince of Princes (the Son of Man of Daniel 7, who will reign over the kingdoms of the World) of Daniel 8, and the one against him is Rome, the same one described in Week 69 that would bring down the City and the Temple (70 A.D). Some want to say that these events did not occur at the time of Rome, and that he is talking about some Seleucid King, but Daniel 8:23 clearly explains that this character arises after the fall of the 4 Kingdoms of Greece (that is, he arises after the fall of the Seleucids, so he cannot be Antiochus)...this is Rome, who became an empire (27 BC) when the last Kingdom, the Ptolemies, was conquered by Rome. What does all this mean then?...that Jesus was the wounded Messiah prophesied by Daniel, and that anyone claiming to be the Messiah after that date can no longer be considered Messiah, for the prophetic time has already passed, it would be too late...only Jesus fulfilled that prophecy at the exact time, and then the City and the Temple fell as Daniel said Daniel's prophecy stopped when the City and Temple fell, this is because the prophecy of the 70 Weeks is for the People of Israel and the Holy City (Daniel 9:24), and at present Jerusalem is not fully theirs.... When the City is theirs, and the False Messiah appears, the revival of Rome with a New Herod posing as King of the Jews, making covenant with many, then the 70th Week will begin (the beginning of the events described in Daniel 11:23).... he in the middle of the Week will Reign for 3 and a half years, persecute the Understood of these prophecies, seek the removal of the New Covenant of the lamb from the hearts of those who are God's Temple, and bring Apostasy, exalting himself above all, as if he were God, thus bringing spiritual perdition, and will make alliance with 10 Kings...Egypt, Libya and Ethiopia will fall under his power...and he will return to Jerusalem with armies This False Messiah is the Little Horn of Daniel 7 and its 10 horns, coming out of the 4th Beast/Rome, and is also the feet of Iron mixed with clay (Iron/Rome, as the Iron of the Legs, resurfaces, making alliances with the 10 toes/Kings) But in those days of Great Tribulation will return the Nazarene, the True Messiah, from where he ascended, from the East, from the Mount of Olives, and will defeat those Kings of the False Messiah/Gog, when he is surrounding Jerusalem with his armies....for in the last days the sealed Book of Daniel will be opened, and the kingdoms of the World and Jerusalem will accept with lamentation the Pierced One and his New Covenant, because they will understand these prophecies of Daniel to be fulfilled, being cleansed, made white and Purified through the New Covenant....

As an Eastern Orthodox Christian I would like to say that I agree with Singer that there are issues with some of the ways that the 70 weeks are calculated. But one of the critiques you had was that the last week was separated from the 69 weeks, but how do Jews reconcile the 490 year prophecy with the first messiah of the first 7 weeks being Cyrus and the destruction of the Temple in 70AD? Wouldn’t that be well over 490 years? Wouldn’t the first 7 weeks, the 62 weeks and the last week need to be separated by gaps to make that work? I always favored Eusebius of Caesarea’s calculations, which I always assumed was the same as the Jews calculation as he understood the reference to messiah as the Highpriest. Eusebius seen the first 7 weeks(49 years) being from the decree of Cyrus his first year in 539BC to the death of Joshua the high priest in 490BC. Eusebius believed the 62 weeks were separated because the Temple remained unfinished until the 5th year of Darius which is when the 62 weeks begins, he then follows this up to the time King Herod killed Hycranus the Highpriest from the Hasmonean line. Herod then placed one of his sons in the office of Highpriest though Herod being an Edomite made this an illegitimate Highpriest which for Eusebius meant the Highpriest succession was cut off and had nothing, Eusebius saw Hycranus as this the messiah who was cut off and had nothing. As for the last week Eusebius believed this was Christ ministry where he preached for 3.5 years and made a covenant with many and was crucified in the middle of the last week, putting an end to the need for sacrifices. Obviously this wouldn’t be convincing to Jews, Though I heard another interpretation that the last week beginning with the death of Christ brother James in 63AD recorded by Josephus, to the destruction of the Temple 70AD, with the beginning of the war taking place in the middle around 66AD . Personally my view, as in Orthodox Christianity we believe in the concept of Microcosms, I believe the fact that there’s exactly 40 years between Christ death and the destruction of the Temple, 40 being a number of great significance as we see it all throughout the Tanakh, and the fact that Jesus said regarding his body, destroy this Temple and I’ll raise it up in 3 days, I feel the destruction of the Temple is a mirrored event of Christ death on the Cross as it was the Romans responsible for both. If anyone had the patience of reading this I’d be very interested in how the the 70 weeks is calculated in Judaism

It's an amazing thing that I have felt that the so called new testament was full of errors. A week or so ago I started having different thoughts piercing me to reread in scripture. As I did, I started realizing many errors. Then last week a friend of mind shared a video of yours along with Psalms 146:3. The Hebrew Bible has three sections, Torah, Prophets and Writings. Since Daniel is not a Prophet according to the Talmud he is included in the section of the Jewish Bible labeled "Writings". So if the Syrian priest is saying that the book of Daniel is not included in the Jewish Bible he is wrong. If he is trying to say that the book of Daniel is not included in the book of the Prophets he is correct.

Rabbi Singer's position is interesting but, with respect, it appears to have loose ends. The rabbi says that the rebuild of the second temple was commanded by Cyrus in BC538 - BC537 [Ezra 1:1-3; 5:13]. This was a religious permit. Historically, the second temple foundations were laid in BC537 [i.e. say +1 year since Cyrus’ dabar], and this temple was completed in BC516 [i.e. say 20 years since Cyrus’ dabar]. The 70 weeks in the Dan. 9 prophecy is expressly broken into 7 + 62 + 1 weeks. There must be some deliberate sense in this division. The angel specifies that, at the end of the 7 years from "the dabar [word, edict, commandment] to restore and build Jerusalem, “the street and wall are rebuilt, even in troublous times". This specification & dabar appears to be more military than religious and to have nothing directly to do with the second temple. Further, it is difficult to see how Cyrus could be the Anointed One required under Dan. 19:24, even if only for the first 7 ‘weeks’ [49 years], when (a) he died in BC530 [seven solar years after his dabar], (b) his dabar was limited to a religious (not military) permit, so was outside the angel’s definition and (c), the specified finality (rebuilding walls etc.) was completed in 20 (not 49) years. Distinctly, the rebuilding of the walls, which was a military permit, appears to have been specifically commanded by Artaxerxes on 13-05-BC445 [Neh. 2:1, 5, 8, 13, 17], albeit by an iggereth not a dabar, and [according to Neh. 6:15 & Wikipedia], despite harassment by the local Samaritans, the new walls were completed within 52 days that same year [i.e. say +92 years since Cyrus’ dabar (re a temple, which seems to be irrelevant), and a maximum one year from Artaxerxes’ iggereth]. Whichever of these start dates one selects, and whether one goes by solar years of 365.25 days or prophetic years of 360 days, it is hard to square any of this specified historic feat being performed within seven prophetic weeks = 49 years. Further, Rabbi Singer declares that the destruction of the second temple, by the Romans in 70AD, occurred in the middle of the 70th week, but (unless I missed something), he is silent on what became of the missing 3.5 years. Incidentally, if the magic end date is the destruction of the second temple in 70AD, which is 69 years since the end of BC [AD began immediately at year 1, with no year 0), and if the start date was BC537, then that is a gap of 606 solar years. If the start date is Artaxerxes’ iggereth in BC445 then that is a gap of 515 solar years. If we adopt prophetic years of 360 days, as probably we must do*, then that is 185,400 days or 508 solar years. None of this fits. * The "Rosetta stone" comparing the month duration in Rev 11:2 & 13:5 with the day duration in Rev. 11:3 & 12:6 shows this simple equation. This appears to be confirmed in Genesis where the flood began on the 17th day of the second month [7:11] and ended on the 17th day of the 7th month [8:3,4], to a total of 150 days [7:24]. However, if the start date is Artaxerxes’ iggereth on 13-05-BC445 and the end date is Jesus’ crucifixion is 07-04-0030AD (which had a Passover full moon on a Friday night), then that is 173,030.25 days or 473.73 solar years. This is too short. If we extend the end date to destruction of the temple by adding forty years, that is way too long. I feel sure that Rabbi Singer, for whom I have great respect, can throw light on these perceived difficulties, and respectfully request that he address them (explaining the difference between a dabar and an iggereth), so that we can find reliable sense in this prophecy.

@@AndrewGiles688 Hashem is not, "our G-d". HE IS THE HASHEM OF THE UNIVERSE. Jesus is a dead man who thought he was a messiah figure. He gained followers just like former false messianic figures that came prior to this jesus. But if you read Tanakh, it will become so clear to you that jesus couldn't be moshiac. Hashem hates and forbids human sacrifices. Hashem says a son cannot die for his father Norbert can a father die for his son. Each man must die for his own sin meaning noone can die for you. There is no human atonement. Hashem strictly forbid drinking the blood, he said to pour it on the ground like water and cover it with the dust of the earth yet you belive in the liters drinking of jesus human blood for eternal life and eating his body. These are ancient pagan practices. Read Ezekiel 40-48, it speaks if the 3rd temple where the levites will be reinstituted along with sin, trespass, oblations offerings etc. Wait...sin offerings through animal sacrifices?? But christianity pushes the false claim that jesus is the final atonement for human sin. But hashem said "I am not a man that I should lie nor repent" He also said no man shall EVER see me and live". Jesus never fulfilled 1 messianic prophecy. Nation is still at war with nation. The whole world does not know and accept Torah for there are still many nations that know nothing of him and the whole world still practices their own religions not, The faith. The resurrection of the dead has not taken place yet. And to be clear, man does not worship moshiac, man worships Hashem and Hashem alone. The messiah will not be a god, he will be a man. I hope hashem will open your eyes and heart to the truth. I used to be aChristian, I was raised in it but Hashem called me home.

They who have ears to hear, let them hear: Through the Holy Spirit, God has put it on me to preach to those lost in the devil's deceit! I tell ye, truly, Jesus of Nazareth is the propitiation for the whole world's sins. He is the anointed one, for he is, Jesus Christ. God the Father has raised him from the dead; who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God! Angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life: no one comes to the Father, but by him. They who believe and are baptized with the Holy Spirit shall be saved; but they who believe not shall be damned. For they who believe not on him, shall die in their sins! I tell ye now to repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and you'll receive the gift of the Holy Spirit upon asking the Father! There are *NO* sub-divisions of Christianity. You're either a disciple of Christ or not. A Christian is someone who follows God's word, not a religion. Who obey the Father and follow his will; not man's nor their own heart's. Unless you keep Jesus' commandments, think not the Holy Spirit will dwell within you! They who heed this message and did what was stated with an open heart to God... Read the Holy Bible (KJV) daily and every time before you read, pray to the Father and ask: "Lord I ask that you give me understanding of your word, that I interpret it the way you want me to, and none of my own. I ask you in Jesus' name, amen." 1 John 2:2 KJV 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. Acts 2:38 KJV 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Luke 11:13 KJV 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? John 14:21-24 KJV 21 *He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.* 22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, *If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.* 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and *the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.*

That is preposterous that there are groups out there that believe that Jews hid the book of Daniel or Isaiah 53 because they think those ancient Jews knew that Jesus was who he said he was, etc. However, those Jews who did not accept Christ as the Messiah were taught by their Rabbis for many centuries and even some to date that the book of Daniel the prophet was unreliable concerning the prophecy of Messiah the Prince which pinpointed the time period when the Messiah would take the stage in the land of Israel. They reinterpret it to mean something in regard to the Jewish temple structure. Daniel 9:24-27 has its central character as "the Messiah the Prince" as found in Daniel 9:25 so there is no way to deny what this is about. It's about God establishing redemption through HIs Son, "Messiah the Prince", not only to the Jewish people, but for the Jews to have the great privilege to bring this good news of a redemptive covenant to the gentile world. This was Jehovah's intention for the Jews from the beginning. But the Jewish leadership was very egocentric and thus exclusive to everyone about this covenant of salvation. Even among their own community they were exclusive to some. Who is my neighbor? Do I need to give to the poor? They are cursed of God! Many Jewish traditions of the time excused them for caring for others, especially those unclean gentiles. Daniel 9:26 does not say that the prince that shall come to destroy the sanctuary and the city comes during the 70th week. That time period is pertaining to Messiah the Prince. That is what happens during the desolations occurring after the 70 weeks and it does not tell us when that is going to happen except that it will be after the 70 weeks when the Messiah does His work for Daniel's people or "thy people". (Daniel 9:24) The presenter is not taking this time prophecy totally in context. He is using words in the Hebrew to dictate context of this great work of God for the Jewish people which will effect every nation upon the earth. This is pointing to His ultimate work to establish His covenant with His people forever, if they will accept this fulfillment of His promise. This will require the atoning sacrifice to become literally fulfilled so that the oblation and sacrifice of animals will never have to be symbolically or ceremonially performed again. The Syrian priest made some linguistic gaffs, I must confess. The biggest one was at the end when he talked about pushing the fulfillment of the seventieth week to the time of the end because supposedly time had stopped. I can understand the Rabbi's exasperation here as there is nothing in this prophecy or any other throughout the Bible that does this. This comes from dispensational futuristic eschatology which comes from Jesuit counter reformation theology.

I just skipped through the video, so I want to apologize in case you have refuted what I am about to write. I have never seen anyone except for this priest who focused on the first 7 weeks. Instead, we add the 7 to the 62 and receive 69 prophetic weeks, which equals 483 years. The prophetic time starts with the decree to rebuild Jerusalem, which is the decree of Ezra 7. So the starting point is 457 and after 483 years, we arrive in 27 AD (note that our calender doesn't have a year 0). 27 AD is the 15th year of Cesar Tiberius in the old calender, and this is the year Yeshua was baptized and started his ministry. In the middle of the last week, which is the 70th, he was cut off. This was 3.5 years after his baptism, when he was crucified on the day of passover in the year 31 AD. By the way, isn't it a weird coincidence that the man, who is called "the lamb of God" died on the day of passover, which the Talmud confirms? And isn't it weird that Daniel 9,27 says that the Messiah will bring an end to all animal sacrifices? Weird coincidence. But when would the 70 week prophecy end? In 34 AD. What happened that year? The apostle Stephen was stoned to death by the Jews and Paul was chosen by God to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles. This was when the time of Israel as God's elect people ended. But is there still hope for the jewish people? Of course there is. For in Christ, there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither circumcised nor uncircumcised, for we are all one in Christ Jesus. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. No matter if you were Jewish or Muslim, Hindu or Atheist, Catholic or Orthodox, once you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, the Son of God who died for your sins, and put all your trust and faith in him, and love him with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength, and love your neighbour as yourself, you are no longer in darkness, you are no longer under the wrath of God, but as his children you are inheritors of eternal life.

Matthew 21:42 Jesus said to them: Have you never read in the scriptures: The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner? It was the Lord this is marvelous in our eyes! Then he left the temple Matthew 24:1 Then Jesus came out and departed from the temple, and his disciples came to show him the buildings of the temple The Lord Jesus speaks about what remains of Daniel's prophecy, because the first parts of Daniel's prophecy actually applied on Palm Sunday, and for this reason neither the disciples nor the Jews need to explain to them that it has been fulfilled, so they understand the visions of its fulfillment. But what is more important than this is what remains of the prophecy, especially the warnings. What remains is for Jesus to cut off Daniel 9:26 And this said that the Messiah will happen very soon after days Matthew 26:2 "You know that in two days it will be the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified." Matthew 26:24 The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born! Daniel chapter 9 uses the Hebrew word (שבעים ~ Shavuim) to represents a period of time multiplied by seven. For various reasons this word is translated as “weeks” and means a multiple of seven years rather than a multiple of seven days. a) We see a similar use in the verse, “You shall count~ שבע שבתת השנים) seven Shabbaths of years), seven years seven times… forty-nine years.” Leviticus 25:8 b) A Shabbath is a period of seven days and shares the same Hebrew root for the word c) Normally the plural of week would be (שבעות ~ Shavuot) in Daniel it uses the masculine “ים” ending for ( שבעים~ Shavuim) similar to (years ~ שנים) This indicates that (שבעים~ Shavuim) is referring to a multiple of seven years d) Both Jews and Christians agree that this is referring to a multiple of years. 1) In Ezra 1:1-4, King Cyrus issues a proclamation (קול ~ Kol) and writings (מכתב ~ Mechtav) granting the Jews permission to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple. 2) Ezra 6:12-13, King Darius issues a decree (טעם ~Taim) granting permission to rebuilt the Temple. 3) Ezra 7:11-16, Artaxerxex, issues a decree (טעם ~Taim) granting permission to rebuilt the Temple. (Artaxerxex is a Persian title of royalty and can refer to different leaders. This is similar to the way Pharaoh is the title of rulers of Egypt) 1) 70 years of subjugation (Jeremiah 25) 2) 70 years till they return to the Jerusalem (Jeremiah 29) 3) 70 years of the destruction of Jerusalem (Daniel 9). (שבועה~Shevuah) that means “week”. Therefore in Daniel chapter 9, each week is a period of seven years. Christian polemicists interpret these passages in the following way. These passages are being spoken by Daniel after the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem by the evil Babylonian empire. At some point after the destruction, there will be a “decree” issued to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. Starting from the issuing of that decree, 7 and 62 weeks totaling 69 weeks of years (483 years), will pass and then the Messiah will come and in that same 7 year period “week” he will be cut off, but not for himself, but for the sins of mankind. Then the city and sanctuary will be destroyed. Christian assert that their calculation proves that Jesus fulfilled this prophecy to the exact day. After the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem any Jews that survived the Babylonian slaughter were exiled from their land. Daniel, for example lived in Babylon. Eventually, the Babylonians were conquered by the Persian Empire. Christians claim that the decree mentioned in Daniel 9:25 was issued by the Persian King Artaxerxes in the year 444 BCE, based on Nehemiah 2:1-8. These passages speak about the king giving Nehemiah “letters” (אגרות ~ Iggrot) for safe passage and permission to rebuild the Temple. The building of Jerusalem was started and halted several times and there are actually three additional decrees mentioned earlier in the Bible. JewsforJudaism

@@Hilare02 I don’t debate. I am not an expert on all thing Judaism (although I am an Orthodox Jew with a Jewish education)nor am I great at explaining things. Me leaving details out or being unable to formulate a response correctly doesn’t change what Judaism believes. I’m happy to provide you with a brief explanation of the Jewish understanding of the topics in question and then provide you with resources that explain it thoroughly. Rabbi singer does have a call in show on tenakh talk. It sounds like something you may be interested in.

@@Hilare02 i disagree. I need to know why I believe in what I do. And that is all. It doesn’t matter if you agree or disagree or if I can convince that I know what Judaism believes. my relationship with G-d is between me and him. Not one else. Only G-d can can judge. Besides I did not say I cannot defend my faith - I said I do not debate my faith. You can debate your faith if you wish to. However I do not see a need for my own relationship with G-d further more I explained to you before I do not see a point in a debate when the debate ends up being about outsmarting each other. Whether I can explain Judaism clearly and correctly in a conversation doesn’t change the religion. That’s is why I said if you have a specific point I can give you an answer and then direct you to resources that can explain is clearly that are an accurate description of what Orthodox Judaisms response to your point would be. You don’t seem to anyway have much respect for ppl who have different perspectives on religion than you. Even if you die think their religion will a wrong. I have seen that you have called rabbis liars. I am an Orthodox Jew like rabbi singer. What you call a rabbi is my father my brothers my uncles ect. if we are all liars in your eyes than there isn’t much point in talking anyway

Meaning they believed in G-d Lol then they wouldn’t be believers in Baal Also I don’t think you even have a vague understanding of what the Pharisees would have actually believed cuz that didn’t make an iota of sense 😂

You’re learning Hebrew. That’s great! It’s a little tough (I’m learning too) but stick to it. I know maybe fifty words or so. It takes a little time. But it matters to you, right? You’re here, aren’t you? That’s loving G-d. His word matters to you. Embrace that. Love Him. He gave us a Law. The Noahide Law. Seek it. Study it. Embrace it. That’s how to love Him. Read Psalms 119:155. Psalm 119 is all about the beauty of His Law. He wants to be close to you (Psalm 145:18).

The only priest speaking out against the lgbtq movement? Like have you not seen the Catholic and Orthodox doctrine on lgbtq issues? Have you not see the Mormon Church or Jehovas Witness? Or the whole Evangelical and Fundamentalists movement? Clearly he can't be the only priest in all of Christianity condemning lgbtq people to hell as if he were God himself.

Now the last part of Daniel 9 you seem to also NOT READ IN CONTEXT. " And He will confirm THE COVENANT". The phrase does SAY " THE" covenant. The phrase did nor say " A" Covenant" which means the only covenant not confirmed yet is Jeremiah 31:31. The Covenant means its and existing futuristic covenant that in the day of Daniel its already in existence but not CONFIRMED yet.
