i know its a late asking, but hope you can help me, i recently make abuild with that M.2 as principal storage, after 2 weeks the M.2 failed get on bios loop and the mobo stops recognize it at all. just now i saw that the predator plastic label it can remove (or should remove), my question is if you have to do that, in the video don't show it 3:10. Do you have any problems with the disk?

It might be ok to get a better heatsink but honestly I haven’t had any issues yet using this thing stock. Time will tell!

For some reason my PlayStation screw just barley doesn't fit is it necessary to have it in? Plus i kinda lost it

I’m pretty sure it’s at least recommended. I imagine it could wiggle loose, especially if you keep it in vertical mode. If you keep it horizontal then maybe give it a shot?

I just installed mine but now my ps5 is making this faint knocking noise? Did I install it wrong? Im worried I broke it

Hmm I haven’t heard of that. May just want it unplug the power, check again that everything is screwed correctly and the panels are properly seated back in place

An ssd has no moving parts so there shouldn't be any noise as a result of the ssd. Check your face cover on the ps5. Sometimes people snap off on of the plastic joints when putting it back on. Its possible that a small plastic bit may have fallen into the PS5

No issues yet? I see it has a heat spreader instead of heat sink, does that not effect anything at all?

*At least on the 4tb version I am looking at it says ceramic heat spreader

The 2tb has a graphene laced foam pad and so far I haven’t had any issues without a heatsink. Your mileage may vary depending on how often you play games off of the SSD itself. I rotate frequently between which system I play on so my use may not be as heavy as someone who mostly uses a PS5 with this SSD. But honestly this thing is still great. Just a couple days ago I moved 170gb onto the SSD from the main storage and it took under a minute or so and I’m still blown away

How's the SSD holding up for you? I wanted to get it too for my Predator Helios Neo 16 but then I saw plenty of people reporting the drive going bad since it's using the Innogrit IG5236. Apparently it's prerry faulty and causes severe memory loss.

@@KazumaKiryu-0 After doing some digging, I've noticed that the problems only seem to be present for people who use the SSD for intensive read/write tasks and as a boot drive. Seems like it works perfectly fine if you use it purely for gaming. Still, we really can't tell as I've seen quite a few cases of reputable branded SSDs also fail in a few months or so lol.

@jaimiranda8563 yea, im doing transfers to it right now, about 3tb of off and on writing and the ps5 gets spinning after the games are transferred. After the writing is done though it seems to calm down. Why did they have to make transferring games from 1 m2 drive to another so complicated 😫

I'll stick with my recently purchased WD_BLACK SN850X, the updated SN850, which is faster (6541 on that format screen) and comes with a *full pre-installed heatsink* on the 2TB model. Don't fall for the boxed "PS5 recommended version" of the SN850 which is the older model with a *marked up price.* Shop around for the best prices always.
