Magneto warned Jubilee that it was time to grow up in episode 4. : ( I think that was the writers' way of letting us know that X-men - the children's cartoon has officially ended. Banshee was the one who was dusted in the air with Marrow. : ( This episode gut punched us all. In the final episode of the OG show, Xavier's last words to Gambit were: "How often must the scoundrel prove himself a hero, before he believes it himself?" The Cajun just couldn't help going out like he lived: with style.

14:50 Fun Fact - one of Leech's abilities is to make his foes weaker or dampen their abilities the closer he is to them. The fact Magneto was able to do all of that while Leech was literally on him smh that's what an Omega level mutant look like.

The eyes changed from the Omega targetting green to basic red when Gambit charged. He succeeded because he was underestimated. And he CHOSE not to be an Omega. His humility defeated the Wyld Sentinel.

This is the episode I was particularly looking forward to a reaction for. The first four episodes are good but basically just laying the groundwork. Episode 5 left my jaw dropped. Like this is where it really picks up. And every single episode after just keeps up the pace or even pushes it further. It gets so good.

Oh man, that really threw you guys for a loop. The fact you didn't even really process the implication of Cable showing up before everything went to hell probably made it hit even harder. I'm sure it made this episode a hard watch, but it made it more fun for us to see your shocked reactions, so thanks for that lol P.s. Moira was one of the bodies we see laid out. And Banshee was very much vaporized, alongside Marrow. Yeah, they didn't pull any punches. Some people called this episode the Red Wedding of comic book shows, and you can see why.

There’s a LOT of garbage being released by the major companies now, but as weird as it sounds, the latest incarnation of the X-Men has been pretty solid, overall. **Well; it STARTED OFF strong. After the architect behind the new run left, the stories started veering off into some odd directions, but even then, there was some solid character development and some cool storylines mixed in with the oddness. 😅

You actually saw Banshee being vaporized as he was trying to fly away. Moira is seen as one of the dead bodies as well, she's also later revealed as a mutant in the comics too As for Madelyne she was shown as one of the dead bodies. When I originally watched this episode, after it ended I just stared at the TV...jaw dropped. I couldn't believe what I watched 😂

I watched it and it was a very very long time ago a movie or tv episode made me feel this strongly and invested. And it was hit after hit. And then rogues last line sealed it. 😢

This episode was the biggest gut punch ever. It was so incredibly well done, but I never expected them to pull a Red Wedding on us. And apparently yes, Maddy was confirmed dead. She is seen on the roof around the time they pan over to Calisto. 😢

I wonder if xmen97 is hitting adults harder than kids. Like would preteens even get the impact beyond just character death. Rogues pain in her relationship jean scott and madelyn drama. Magneto trying hard to go the high road and getting kicked in the face for it. Him having to break the promise to leech. The flashes of his life of injustice done to him and mutankind up to the last and earliest.the holocaust. Magneto was so well written. I dont like exactly how he handled his revenge... since he basically said. Well fuck all humans and mutants except 3. But yeah. I hope this ep gets its Emmy. It is well deserving. Xmen97 was the best tv show in years. Including live action

Please know the writer, a gay man of color from Florida, wrote this episode with 9/11 and the Pulse queer nightclub shooting in mind. So there are many layers of meaning here. He also pitched the entire season centered around this episode.
