Solving Three Handcrafted Puzzles from Japan

Today I'm taking a look at three different releases from the Karakuri creation group in Japan. "A doctor and his friend" by Kasho Osamu, "My place" by Kakuda Yoh and "6 co Stitch" by Kawashima Hideaki. All three puzzles were handcrafted.

The human mind amazes me. In a mere fraction of a second, upon first glance of the title, my mind misread "handcrafted" for "handcuffed". In that same fraction of a second, I instantly became excited, thinking Chris was performing an escape from some device. By the time that second ended, I was disappointed that my brain had gotten myself excited just to be disappointed 😆 Chris does amazing work nonetheless. I have always enjoyed his videos. Clean, crisp yet fluid, therapeutic, entertaining & informative, the list goes on.

As a leather worker I can tell you that those notebooks look hand stitched and that is some time to get that done. that with tooling done for the "1st" means this took some time and skill. They look great.

The way you combined the "usual" solving the puzzle parts with those cinematic and relaxing shots.. and of course, there's always something special about the Ramsay X Karakuri crossovers. Being outside for this video makes it that much better. Being able to enjoy nature while working on a puzzle or even just sketching in the book. It's being in your own world.

Absolutely gorgeous puzzles! 💜 There is something truly satisfying about Japanese woodworking... the craftsmanship is second to none & you just know that when you put the puzzle box back together it will look as immaculate as when you first opened it. That last one is so incredibly clever, though they were all beautiful in their own right... I have several puzzle boxes that I bought in Japan and there's just _something_ about the elegant simplicity in their design that's both intellectually stimulating & emotionally calming. Thanks so much for sharing!

The stitch box was a very unique and well made puzzle! I was thinking when you first started taking it apart that putting it back together would be harder. Just take it all apart and scramble the pieces and let someone try to put it back together. I bet that would be much harder. Very cool! Thanks!

Hey Chris, i really do love these wood puzzles, great work with the location of shooting it aswell. One thing i do know u do is linking to were we can buy all these puzzles, but i would really love if u did the same on ur short vids, please link in the comments so we can buy those puzzles, would be amazing, Love ur vids, keep up the awesome work bud. PS i miss the insane intros u made before, like the star wars themed one, please bring em back, i know they take alot of time making them, but imo i think its worth it 🥰🥰🥰

Love the format! Only thing on the 6Co Stitch, I don’t know if you put it back together in the original pattern with the colors of the stitches. I tried to compare when you took it out of the box, but couldn’t catch all the patterns.

Good early-thirty Chris..(meanng it's before the crack of dawn 😁) Here's something to think about...as an elder..71..and childless.. I'm in a unique position to wonder what to buy or even keep...as you have an extensive collection of magic and puzzles..have you thought what will become of them ?...do you anticipate handing them down to children or donate as a collection to a museum ?... As we get older these things must be considered... I hope you have or will dwell on this subject for unavoidably it is in your future... Wishing you a long and fruitful future... 🌿🌿🌿
