Lol what a nice surprise to be mentioned in your video 😂 Been waiting for this reaction!! I think the series finale elevates the show to a whole new level, it's perfect. It was a pleasure to watch your 12 monkeys reactions!! Thank you!

No worries. That car ride was epic! Now I've probably got to watch it all again, just to check up on a few things lol.

Hey Dunky, a bit of a mind-boggling thought, Deacon's death was not referenced in the Word of the Witness whatsoever because Deacon was paradoxed in 1491, along with the weapon. So Athan couldn't foresee anything that was paradoxed. Some other foreshadowing as well: And the Cassie we see her death at the CDC in 1x9 Tomorrow would most likely be our Cassie, if Jones didn't modify the primary code (v1.0. to 1.1 which is primary!) to include spitting Cole out at the very end, or prolly died earlier from splinter radiation before having her one last cig Cole (after rescued from Chechnya) mentions to Cassie also "The machine tried to erase me" (or something along those lines) which foreshadows his ultimate fate. Olivia's death was explicitly hinted by the elder Seer in 1491 "Byproduct thou art, waste of abomination of rotten flesh, slithering through the bowels of causality..."

Ooooh k... It always sort of bugged me that Deacon wasn't in the 'Word of The Witness' because he played such a pivotal role. That 'Elder Seer' sure haz razz! "Abomination of rotten flesh", I'm maybe more confused now than when I finished. Methinks I HAVE to rewatch and study peoples' facial expressions to see if there's anything hiding behind their eyes. Hmmm...

Oh man, this finale EXHAUSTS me because it makes me cry so much! (Including your reaction to it. Lol.) It’s soooo good. Oh, your comment about your only “ride or die” betraying you weeks later… yeah. Every so-called (platonic) Ride Or Die I’ve ever had abandoned me, generally without any closure. Grrrr. Just heard you talking about your Gran and of course I’m tearing up again! Last I remembered, she lived with you I think. She’s lucky to have you, you clearly appreciate her ❤

The car music scene was priceless lol! My grans in a home now but we visit her every day and she's going ok at 99 (her sister, 100, is there too so always has company). Cheers for the comment, best I've had in weeks!

It's all good. You were sure right about it just getting better and better! Will have to watch it again just to sort a few things out in my mind. That final car ride was bloody epic!

And here we are. This show doesn't look like much at first but the way it all comes together and these characters make it all work very well. Jennifer really took off these last 2 seasons but the whole cast did great. James Callis was a good guest star, and I agree, it would have been better if there was more for him to do here, he seems to be a great actor in everything I've seen of him, more recently on Blood & Treasure.
@dunkyvslife74472 ай бұрын
There's just sooo many great actors and so few shows. I see great performances in tons of shows and then never see the actor again. Even if you're top tier it still takes a bit of luck to score even one show.

I'm glad you went through all the emotions with this one, now you can see how much they nailed the story. The writers were told after season 2 that they had 20 episodes to wrap it up, so when we see the Future Asshole scene in s03e01 they knew exactly where they were going. That makes the scene so powerful, because it's the exact same as we see at the end, with the mentioning of Athan long before he showed up, the fact he has so much left to lose and that he's only halfway. Also, he has the scarf that Hannah wore, so we could have known something bad was gonna happen to her. Sorry not sorry for saying Deacon was dead :) But that made it all the much better, because I thought at the time we would never see him again. The amount of pure joy moments in this finale make it so f-ing good. I was also confused about how much Deacon knew, this is what showrunner Terry Matalas said in an interview with TVLine (it's a really good interview to look up) QUESTION: You brought Deacon into the fold at a much earlier point in his timeline. So the Deacon that we first met when the show began knew about time travel, and Cassie and Cole, and the whole shebang? ANSWER: No. We saw a first run of Deacon where he didn’t know. Then in Episode 407, when he’s in Titan, and he sees the West VII symbol, and he gets the idea of the West VII coming for a last battle at Titan, he has a bloody nose. At that moment, he becomes the Deacon who has lived through this cycle. And the same with Old Jennifer. You see Old Jennifer get a bloody nose in 407, too. Now she knows what she has to do. So in 408, when he gets his head cut off, a few scenes earlier, he says to Cole, “Things are coming to a head,” basically broadcasting that he knew what his fate was going to be and that this Deacon knows the end of the series. I could go on and on about this series, there are so many fun details to see on a rewatch. For example, if you go straight from the final scene of the series into the first scene, you hear Cole ask "Where are you right now? Somewhere warm? Safe? In the arms of someone you love? Now what if all of that was gone? And the only thing you could do is survive. You would right? You'd try. You'd do things. Horrible things. Until you lose that last thing you have left, yourself. But what if you could take it back, all of it? A reset switch. You'd hit it, right? You'd have to." We are told about THE RESET SWITCH!!! that Cassie pushes, RIGHT FROM THE GET GO. Cole is directly asking her to do it. Mind. Is. Blown. This show has the best callbacks in any piece of film I've ever seen. Up to Olivia ending up being the Corps in a display Box.....because she was always the "Monkey" in a box. If you ever do a rewatch, it's also great to do it alongside to listening to some excellent podcasts, like the official Talking Monkeys, or the 12 Monkeys Uncaged ones. Writers and showrunner regularly explain parts of the story and it makes the 2nd time watching just as good, or maybe even better. Thank you so much for watching this series and sharing your reaction, I loved every second of it!!!

Yeah, I think a rewatch is a must to fully comprehend it. I'll def be checking out a few of Deacon's scenes, just to see how he acts to certain scenarios. This is getting like homework lol. At least DARK had a website where you could check every episode against it's 'time backdrop?' etc, made everything semi-simpler but it wouldn't really work with how this show plays out. Mind blown? Hoiw many bloody times lol!?

Clicked on this so fast, I've been watching for it! Hehe we weren't trolling you earlier about Deacon, I didn't say anything that wasn't true lol I just made sure to leave out that he was coming back XD. Did you also notice that Olivia became the Origin? Wasn't sure if you caught that or not. She was "the thing in the box" and she never escaped it. I will always side with Jennifer getting more credit btw that's super valid. Some other random fun facts: --Deacon didn't know during the original loop everything, that changed when he was at Titan with Jones' and he gets the nosebleed when he sees the West VII carved into the wall. At that point he realizes that they need to take Titan with Jennifer and he knew from that point on the whole story. That's why the next episode when they're in the middle ages, he says "things are coming to a head" and gives Jennifer his knife. He knows at that point he's going to die and knows the loop from then on. --There's more on this in the reddit group, but Cassie is basically the witness. There's a lot of hints to it in the story, especially the monks in the middle ages called Olivia a pretender to the throne and says that they know the true witness to bring about the forest of red because she fears loneliness and then they say that James Cole is the only one of true importance. Because Titan is outside of causality, it's kind of like pandora's box in that the witness hasn't either brought it about or not brought it about until the moment we see her finally shut the machine off. She's also filmed in a lot of scenes hiding behind walls and "witnessing" conversations a lot in the final season, has seen the Word of the Witness (so knows what the witness would) and is both the beginning and the ending of all the loops in a way because she started everything with her message to Cole. --If you go back to S1 E9 where Cassie dies in the CDC, you'll see she has the white streak in her hair that she got from the monkey bell paradox in the middle ages. Also, Idk if you're done with reacting to anything 12 monkeys, but one thing that could be fun to react to and post up to KZfaq is some fanvids (I love seeing reactions to these). A few I think are really good: Green to Red, Cole and Cassie--all that matters is now, Don't you forget about me, Jennifer and Deacon--I forgive you. Thank you so much for reacting to this series! It's been such a fun journey to see you finish this and get to the end and I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much. It's seriously such a good, underrated tv show that just gets better on rewatches.
@dunkyvslife74472 ай бұрын
I knew Olivia was the origin as soon as she became a skeleton and ended up in a box (pity she was dead and couldn't actually enjoy it lol) I saw some of the 'Don't you forget about me' video a few hours agou but skipped through it because I was just looking for the actual car scene with Cole and Ramsey, I'll have to check out the whole thing. I do remember Cass overhearing a lot of scenes while behind walls but never thought of her as 'The Witness' ... does that have anything to do with the leaf at the end? Great, now I'm all fucked up again! I'll check out those fanvids, maybe just do a compilation of them all at once... may as well before I start a new show. Thanks for coming along with me!
@Creativedough2 ай бұрын
@@dunkyvslife7447 Yeah, the leaf at the end does have something to do with that because each of the showrunners had different ideas for the ending. One thought that Cassie pushed the button, and the other wrote it as if she didn't. There is a bit of ambiguity left to the watchers whether or not what we see is a product of the red forest or not. Edit: This info comes from the 12 monkeys podcasts with Sean Tretta, I believe? I've only listened to a bit of them, not all.
@dunkyvslife74472 ай бұрын
@@Creativedough Also, I just thought... it seemed a bit weird thst Cole could get up the tower as quickly as he did (like in 20 seconds or something), who's to say that time didn't actually deliberately somehow bend around him so he could make it so quickly ( everyone says time 'owes' him, so maybe it helped where it could).
