Just finished 27 new doors for my kitchen remodel...was able to sand the doors to perfection. After sanding all the doors on four sides, I still am using the original sanding disc.

@@donaldpyles2891 Donald, that is really great to hear. Cleaning up the edges of doors has always been a challenge. That is one of my favorite uses for this disc.

I just ordered mine and am anxiously awaiting delivery! I came back here today to see if anybody has posted any specs on the throat plate opening, but I guess I'm out of luck. I will post the specs for mine when finished.

Timing is funny. I saw that video as well, I don't know if it will hurt or help the performance of this video. That idea wasn't original to John. Look up Final Cut Saw blades. I used to have one about 10 years ago. I used it on my chop saw for installing crown.

I saw Mike Farrington use this blade/sander before I John Heisz made that video. So since Johns video has over a million views hopefully this will be recommended by YT and help mike out 👌🏼

@@JoniAntonio John has a really big channel and puts out very good videos, when his do really well, its not a surprise to me. Time will tell if it helps me or not.

I also saw you using the edgetech awhile back as well and I thought it was very interesting. I even left a comment on John's video saying I had seen Mike using something similar on multiple videos and I believe I gave the Mike Farrington channel name for anybody that was interested. That is part of my reasoning for the 2 degrees. That particular disc was what I recommended for a while. After a couple months I had a bunch of people email me stating the disc wasn't or wouldn't stay flat. I don't think its thick enough or machined well enough. Fortunately its cheap enough to where its not a huge loss.

Mike Farrington absolutely. Worth the money in my opinion as an experiment to find what features I would like to see. Yours nails it.

@@MikeFarrington the disk showed up today. I couldn't get a full 2° negative tilt on my sawstop but I'll look into that tomorrow. Set up the fence on the left side of the blade and ran about 200lf of mdf through it and I gotta say I am very impressed with the result. This is going to save me a massive amount of time.

@@DarrenRashJr Try raising the blade height. That should create some clearance and allow for the full 2 degrees.

The reason it didn't take off is it needs a detailed presentation for people to fully get the what and why.

I found the same issue with my work. Especially the inside edges of doors and face frames.

@@MikeFarrington I had previously thought about emailing you and getting a 1-inch Arbor version for my 5hp cabinet saw, but I think putting this DT sander on the little 3hp unisaw will work out better.

@@frontlinefinishcarpentry4193 I have 1" arbor discs if you need one. I think though, being 10" diameter, it will mesh better with the unisaw.

It will do some help with in limits.

@@ShopTherapy623 I consider 150 to be fair relative to quality. The cheaper ones seem to have problems. I have recommended the cheaper version for a while, and I ended up with a ton of emails saying it wobbled.

@@ShopTherapy623 I'm currently doing a batch of items that takes right at 30 minutes to sand the pieces for each unit. I figure this disc will cut that down to 5 minutes. So saving 50 minutes per hour seems pretty cool to me. On the low end, at $30/hour shop charge, that's 6 hours of "not" sanding to pay for the disc. That would be 12 units in my case. I planned on cranking out 32 of these a week, and the sanding is definitely the bottleneck. 32 units are estimated at 44 hours. With the time savings this disc could save, those same 32 units will take an estimated 36 hours. I could make another 6-8 units per week which translates into $400-500 extra profit per week. So to sum up: 1. I can save about 2 hours per day by using this disc to sand. 2. I can pay for this disc after saving 6 hours of sanding which is only 3 days. 3. I can make up to an additional 8 units per week which will translate into up to $500 in profit per week. The first week there would actually only be a $350 profit. But subsequential weeks would be $500. 4. And you're supporting a small business instead of a name brand.

Jason Peltier I get that, and no doubt these are probably better than the cheaper ones and will end up making you money if you’re a professional woodworker. As a hobbyist, they’re just a little out of my price range.
