Sometimes, I have the time to clean them out, but mostly, the scrap yard does all the clean outs.

this one is rotten too, not worth anything here, even as a parts car as nobody has one.

Great! My uncle had the Zephyr 6 version. It was a super old car. Went like the wind! Vacuum operated windscreen wipers.

@@jimbilton1956 The faster you drove the slower the wipers performed, is that correct? And vice versa. Those were the days

@@peterward3965 Yes, that's right! Going up hills, or on a wide throttle setting, the engine intake vacuum diminished, and the wipers almost came to a stand still! But go DOWN a hill, on a trailing throttle, the wipers were almost a blur on the screen! Several Fords of that era used vacuum operated wipers. Yes, those were the days of characterful cars..

I passed my drivers test and my first car was a MK1 Consul Convertible that I hand painted bright red. My next car was still a MK1 Zephyr Zodiac but It had a longer front clip with a 6 pot engine and very modern for its time, a push button starter. - lol The seats were more plush. I then bought the next generation of Zephyrs a MK2 Convertible that I ended up building into a hot rod. I wish now I still had any of my earlier years cars now..

The 100e was similar to the consul, which was the prefect and popular. The anglia was 105e .

Thanks. The dust cover got pulled off in one of the tight spots we were in. Replaced it and then found the old one.

With a lot of cleanups, we do the papers for these are long gone. These vehicles have been sitting for 40+ years.

@@redneckpensioners194 Has it a flat dashboard or does the speedo sit in a pod mounted to the facia? The grille badge looks to be the remains of the ones fitted to later Consuls. Actual flatdahs '51s are pretty rare cars.

The Zephyr was slightly longer…… Wiki says this, “The first of the Zephyr range was a lengthened version of the four-cylinder 1,508 cc (92 cu in) Consul, with a 2,262 cc (138 cu in) six-cylinder engine producing 68 bhp (51 kW). Like the Consul, the Zephyr came with a three-speed gearbox, controlled by a column-mounted lever (three-on-the-tree).”

The caravan was rotted out, but it seems that only the back seat floor on the Consul was rusted out. All body panels were in solid shape.
