I love Rigid's prosumer woodworking products - have a Rigid table saw, jointer and planer that all work great even though I bought them used. DeWalt has a stupid amount of utility if you want every power hand tool you own to operate on the same battery platform. (Side note - I still have a 23 year old DW hammer/screw drill from the 18v system that works great.) Once I got on the 20v system I Got a DW chainsaw and weed wacker and holy shit why did I bother with gas operated for so long lol. I get why pros use gas powered stuff but that's for doing landscaping contract work. For the average homeowner or beginning pro DW is hard to beat.

I have both. I got the Ryobi for my son to help me build some decks. There is no comparison. The Ridgid will flat out waste the Ryobi. The Ridgid will do almost twice as many 3" screws because it can do them faster and when the power gets low it can stay in high speed way longer than the Ryobi. So per motor rev it will do more and faster. So when we combined the higher rate of speed with fresh battery till low battery the ridgid does almost twice as much screws with a 4amp each.
