Of the best explanation I seen for hitting a draw with irons. A follow up video for hitting draws with Driver/ fairway woods would be awesome.

Great video. I especially appreciate the very detailed explanation of the process of changing the setup to affect a desired result. Most importantly, you calmly and REPEATEDLY go over the steps necessary in order/ succession. To me, thats extremely important. It reinforces the process and doesn't make the lesson overwhelming to absorb. Great stuff, thank you.

This solely depends on the type of slice. If it's a pull slice you have a slightly closed face to target and a path that's very out to in. ( Easy fix would be drop the trail foot back)(Odds are will produce a duck hook until you find the matching foot alignment) If it's a straight slice meaning starting down the target line then veering off then odds are you are good with face control honestly but still a bad path( same as above foot alignment) If it's a push slice you're swinging as if you could draw the ball aka shallowing but you opened the face. ( Hood the face at address more and or stronger grip) It's not always a path issue and a face issue. You have to diagnose you have really 3 different slice patterns. If you hit to left and turns right it's a severe path issue If it's straight to right it's a path issue. If it's a right more right it's a face issue. I like your teaching but finding out it's 3 different styles makes it easier to fix it. A lot of people think they're face is square if it's square to target, that only works if you have a perfect path which isn't achievable 99 percent of the time. I really am an advocate for if you hit a straight slice or a straight draw you have great face control to what your intentions are. Best way I think to fix a slice is still play it, play a fade. I was a straight slice hitter for years now I hit a slight pull fade can hit both ways at times and I'm a 3.1 handicap and going down. Only thing I did was feel the toe addressing the ball a little turned down and slightly open stance I used to be very open. I aim the face at the left edge of the fairway in case it goes straight or if it does have a rare slight draw it's in the rough, grip the club set my feet recheck my target and expected landing area (2 different areas) and get through the ball

Firstly thank to for the detailed massage and your input here! Shows that you care about the game and content that is put on the web! I can’t say that I disagree with you on this. When the trail foot is back I believe the player can hit draws, straight shots and even fades. The alignment of the feet haven’t made a massive difference to the ball in my experience (unless the trail foot is to far forward or completely out of Blake being to far back). The skill set here is controlling the face to path relationship. The forearms are a huge driver for path and the pronation / supination has a lot to do with the face control. Thanks again for the detailed feedback and care here! Happy to discuss this with you anytime you’d like! My bio has a link to consultation call if you ever want to chat! Thanks, TS

@@tsgolf never ment to come off arrogant or anything because you've probably forgotten more about golf than I know tbh. But I'm just saying I've tried it all. And the best shots for me has been to really try to turn it into a pull fade. That and I know it's initial instruction to get an understanding. But watching a lot of coaches I tend to see a trend that a lot of us correlate well with detail we just don't know the details. Like athletic motion golf always says the guy did exactly what they say they're trying to do. And wasn't saying you were wrong by any means just helping to add more. It's kind of like slicing in general I think comes more from a bowed to flat lead wrist at address more than grip I'm a big component of a cupped lead wrist at address because your wrist has no chose but to flatten even if slightly and close the face. Would love to hear your feedback on this
@tsgolf

I understand completely what you are saying. So is this video when I say lead forearm points to 2 o’clock, that is strengthening the lead hand grip (more extension of cupping). When that is combo’d with the handle forward that does a lot of what you are saying. Where the grip handle sits in relation to the club head has a lot to do with swing direction (as well as forearm alignments), then combos with the face closed to the leading edge of the shaft, this builds in a draw pattern. If you are hitting a pull fade great, controlling what your ball is doing, keep it! I wouldn’t recommend to change anything unless the contact and ball pattern isn’t performing the way you like. Hope this helps! TS

Thanks for sharing. A very new concept. For driver, we just need to do the forearm rotation to 2 o'clock with Straight shaft, ball position to the left heel and weight 50-50. correct?
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 11 күн бұрын
Correct! The weight will be more neutral for most and align the ball position with low point (center of the lead shoulder). Hope this helps and thanks for the comment and feedback!

Thank you! In regards to setup in relation to a bad back I’d need to know where the back is injured and what your setup looks like as well as how you move. Face closed to the shaft is the part I can’t understand. Does this mean the leading edge of the Club is slightly closed to the target?
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 11 күн бұрын
When you look down at the leading edge of the shaft, this forms a straight line (this represents the players swing direction). When you look at the club face it has the ability to setup parallel to the shaft (square), open to the shaft (fade or slice) or closed to the shaft (draw or hook). To draw the ball the face will need to sit closed to the shaft. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

The pressure and rotation through impact would be different! Not as far forward as we aren’t trying to actually hit down on the ball. I’ll see if I can add a video for the future on driver regarding this! Thanks again for the comment and question! TS

essentially what im wondering is, is this setup in response to a slice? or is it just the correct setup regardless of a slice or not? Basically would forearms be like this in a normal correct golf setup, or a fix to counter a slice?
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 11 күн бұрын
Bottom part of lead forearm points to lead thigh (stronger grip), point the centers of your chest and pelvis at the ball or slightly behind it (closed) and feel like these stay more closed in the downswing!
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 11 күн бұрын
If you are hooking the ball or over drawing it this is not a necessity or something I would change it to. This is mainly for the player who is struggling with slices and fades.
