Cutting it and exposing the guts like that is inviting peckers. You also likely to get bitten off without some steel

We can agree to disagree. We use 0.9mm ARATY, and don’t get bitten off- even on all the larger shad caught last year between 76-84cm. Yes, exposing the guts invites peckers- but when shad are thick, nothing else is around to give that bait a chance🤙🏻
