I'll still use merge blocks simply cause you can print the missiles directly onto your fighter

Yeah there are definitely still practical reasons to use merge and connector blocks instead of magnetic plates c= just showing that some automated stuff for missile launches can be done using mag plates now x3

will probably make drones more practical changing behavior on command, including RTB, could cut down on the number of drone printers so long as they have their own projectors and you map ou the launch/landing whenever you replace one

Even still using merge blocks for printing the new relay is useful as it simplifies grouping for launch actions.

Or use a sensor on the missile that detects if it gets away from the ship.

I've been using WHAM missiles you only need an antenna, camera, and the usual stuff to make the missiles. They're also a lot better than the stock AI missiles because you can enable randomized evasion patterns to dodge turrets. The new signal update is great though makes it so much easier to control fleets of drones without needing scripts.

Is that one of the missile scripts c= that sounds nice x3 and yeah scripted missiles can definitely be better than the stock AI missile xD I just like AI missiles better because they can always work even on servers with scripts disabled, but yeah where that isn't an issue scripted missiles can definitely be better c= x3 and ye u wu I like this new update x3 ♥

Imagine just making smart bombs... ones that aim at the planets center point and puts thrust to max. Not perfect, but it would still be much cheaper, needing a gyro, warhead, battery, and thruster... maybe even make it a hydrogen thruster... could make small grid ones... now I want to play space engineers again oof

I did try this when I was experimenting with bombs to get the Planetsphobia achievement. It doesn't help very much to simply accelerate down, since the speed cap is so low. Very quickly the thruster is running for no reason. Now, if it aimed at a grid, that would be different - and that's ultimately the design that worked, albeit when launched en masse from a point approximately directly overhead. >^.^
