This simple upgrade makes your mountain bike incredible - The 26" mullet setup was used by Brett Rheeder at Rampage where he took the win so I modify my MTB and try out this new setup, but is it actually any good?
The new norm in mountain biking is the Mullet setup with 29er on the front and 27'5 on the rear and the point of it is to give stability and smoothness up front but more maneuverability and clearance at the rear. For the Rampage event in Utah Brett Rheeder decided to try a new approach, he decided to run a 26" rear wheel with a 27'5 up front in order to keep the bike stable at speed but also make tailwhips and spins super easy. After finding out about his set up I ordered a 26" wheel from Halo to fit to the back end of my Slopeduro modified Enduro bike and the transformation was actually amazing! After some classic bike maintenance at home I then head to Woburn Bike Park and shred the bike to smithereens on the huge jumps and flowing MTB trails that wind through the woods.
