Floor was the lead singer when this song was recorded for the album on which it first appeared, so there's no comparison needed here.

Don't know if you noticed it, but at first the backdrop is at daytime. And before the solo it's more evening. And then it's night time with shooting stars. I have always loved their backdrops.

One of their quieter songs, beautiful. Nightwish has no bad songs only different :-)

This one should definitely be followed up (while this song is still fresh in your memory) with the Live at Tempere (with lyrics) version of The Greatest Show on Earth. The "We Were Here" theme reaches it's climax in that song and will really give you goosebumps and a feeling of joy.

Always a favourite. Back to back sounds like a good idea. WE WERE HERE cones before Greatest Show and is referenced in that song. Alpenglow references My Walden. Lots of cross references in Tuomas' music.

Floor does sing a lot of the songs before 2013, but Alpenglow is from the first album with her as lead singer.

This song has some of the most beautiful lyrics I have ever heard. I´m in awe of Tuomas´s ability to convey emotion through his compositions. Floor is the perfect medium for that emotion to come through.

WE WERE HERE. I am sure you will know the connection by now. Alpenglow is eternal, we are not. BUT, we were a part of this wonder.

Ha yeah it's unfortunate that there is the sniping back and forth with some people (although it IS a very small but vocal minority.) NW has had three singers but the only real fighting seems to be about Tarja and Floor, and not so much Anette Olzon. Essentially you have three camps-- those of us who appreciate both of them for their contributions and recognize they are entirely different, both wonderful singers, and from different eras for the band. There are people who can't get over Tarja having been gone for 16 YEARS and resent any replacement. And then there are those who only want to hear Floor which is a shame as it leaves out a significant part of NW history.

Don't compare with Tarja. Both are outstanding. And this song only exists with Floor 😊.

Check out the Mexico City performance of this one. Floor’s voice and the band absolutely soar in that performance. It has better sound and photography too.

back to back seems like a good idea to me :)

The one thing that most reactors miss is the two very long lines Floor sings after the solos, she sings with one breath each. That's just astounding. The back to back thing is entirely up to you. I am personally not that interested in hearing Tarjs'a versions of the songs - I've heard most of them and there are only a couple that I prefer her to Floor. As far as the Anette songs back to back, it would be her studio version vs. a live version because there are no studio versions of the older songs (from the Anette or Tarja eras) with Floor and very few live versions with Anette.
