I've had two new VR6 GTI's as dailys until recently and then ponied way up for a MK8 R. But I have always loved the GTI hatchback for all the same reasons you mentioned! Great choice and you have me 0 to 60 by .8 seconds!! Loved the video and the car! Thanks for sharing!

how come the dsg sounds like the 7 speed. Meaning that it doesnt fart but has the agressive bang between shifts.

Great video. Are those wheels 18x9? And I love the chunkier profile tire, any chance you know the measurements on them? Thanks! I had Michelin PS4s on my MK7 GTI, but have a MK7.5 R now with stock 19s, but definitely want to drop back down once I get some aftermarkets on there.

Love my golf R preparing for stage 2 but there's a company that can get the standard engine to 700bhp+ safely in the UK (I can dream 😂) I love the rs3 5 cylinder sound but I want to keep mine 4 cylinder the engine that came with the car and also it's a rare 2016 manual just fitted a short shifter which is 💯. Great platform in my opinion and comfortable.

Looks like a heck of a daily. I’m really curious how a manual R with similar mods compares to a similarly tuned RS. A good 93 tune should have the RS at around 350 whp, which is around 400+ crank so it’s similar in power.

Depends on what state you live in, we’re in the US! The state we live in, I have no idea what the actual law is, noise doesn’t really matter lol!

I am surprised how cheap Golf Rs are in the US. Don't think I'd get the same model here with low milage for less than 25 to 30k Euros.
