You are so fortunate to be able to fish without another angler in sight. I used to fish one lake in the hills above Lake Castaic approximately 3600 feet elevation. Spring time was incredible for big rainbows and kokane that averaged 2 to 3 pounds. To be able to fish this lake from the shore and rarely see another angler, was unbelievabe considering the lake is in So. California. Sadly during a drought in the late 80s, the lake dried up. So much for my hidden jewel.

I’ve talked to some people from California and they’ve told me of some very remote lakes up in the sierra’s that don’t get visited all that much..

Those fish are beauties. They like they're salamanders in that pond. Wonder if smaller size soft plastic bass fishing salamanders would be clutch in there. I'd almost assume a rapala painted with a salamander pattern would be a good add to the tacklebox. Great video like always. Loved it.

Dynamic Lures are my go to but I just recently lost all my lures I had in a box. But that just means buying more. Fish on
@oldguyonacouch721610 ай бұрын
There are programs that can restore deleted files from SD cards. The actually work very well. I fly drones and have deleted videos I have made with my drone and used one of those programs to retrieve the files. Sometimes the videos are all mixed up but you still can salvage most of it. Also I find using bait that looks like what they feed on in a lake, river or pond will produce lots of fish.
@bassntroutfishing10 ай бұрын
Sigh. It’s whatever. I think it’s all gone now. Thank goodness it wasn’t a video where I caught a 10 pound tiger trout or something. I could probably remake the video pretty easily. Hopefully.

Same story for me man. I was a loyal Rapala guy myself. Went out with a buddy one day on a river, he used a dynamic and I used a Rapala. He caught 3× the amount of fish I did, and I was getting frustrated. Anyway, next time we went out I brought a dynamic with me.... haven't used a Rapala since.

When fishing the green river, you can tell if it's a brown or rainbow before you see it. Rainbows fight a lot harder and will come out of the water. Browns head for the bottom.

Not sure where you are at, but most places catching salamanders and using it for bait would be illegal. But I bet a zoom lizard will or something would get crushed out there. Hell I’d tip to see something like that. Haha
@Bass595 ай бұрын
Well what you can do is look it up and see your salamanders all legal to use if not go to one of those tackle shops like Dick's Sporting Goods and I think Galt might have them the little rubber salamanders they got a scent on them and especially different gulp that might do the trick

That would be truly GREAT unless you catch stocked trout in Iowa. I stopped eating them years ago meat is a mushy no flavor wash out, they're reared in hatcheries on pelts and they aren't worth eating unless you doctor them with so much spices that you can't even taste the fish it self

Still fat from the high protein pellets they're eating at the hatchery that why it's still tasty. I caught some hold over they loss their body fats and don't really taste that great.
