During the pandemic I ran into someone VERY similar. He was selling a 10x15 storage unit filled literally ROOF to floor of what used to be his father's Baseball card store. I did 6 trips out to this unit which was an hour away taking truck load after truckload paying cash daily. This person and I got to know each other fairly well and I quickly learned he had a serious heroin addiction he was feeding daily. It got so bad that he would txt me putting "lots" together asking to get paid in advance. Me being the kind soul I am agreed to it and was able to procure my stuff the next day. This went on for a week or so and after discovering what he was doing, I had a heart to heart with him. He thanked me and I told him you have a friend if you want to call me but I cannot do this any longer. About a month later during peak pandemic I got a txt from his mother. She had his phone and we met several times while there. She let me know he died and was wanting to sell what was left so she could move back to NJ to be with family. Moral of this story is everyone deals with something big in their lives. Be compassionate but also dont contribute to someone's downfall.

I just discovered this channel yesterday, and I've been binge watching you bud. This video really got me. I have been struggling with loss of my own father, then losing direction leading to addiction upon other bad situations. The fact that you treated him with respect, and as a person is absolutely very impressive. There is plenty of people who would've mistreated, and taken advantage of this guy. So for your actions in this particular video shows just exactly how much of a great human being you really are. I am praying for this man, and I hope he is doing better.

I feel bad for him, he said his whole family is dead and he’s clearly having an incredibly hard time. Poor dude, good on you for being kind letting him talk and meeting him at a generous price. I hope he finds a little help, some therapy is a good start.

I think, (from the experience of watching a loved one struggle with it), that this guy was very likely, "wired" on Heroin! That stuff really puts a person's mouth "in gear" a lot of the time! I second that. I've met plenty of people like that guy. Hard part is looking for an exit queue out of the endless rambling, otherwise you'll be trapped there all day. This guy is definitely lonely, and also displaying borderline drug addict behavior. You kinda wanna stand there and empathize for the person but also not at the same time.

I've made a few buys in situations like this - but it's WORK. In the first few minutes he divulged that dad had money and with dad gone, this locker is the main thing standing between him and having to deal with his problems and grow up. Zeroing in on what you really wanted early and getting him to commit to a price was a great strategy. Also, NOT letting on that you had in-depth knowledge of prices was a plus, as well as not reacting to his language. There's no hope of changing the behavior of someone like this in a short transaction, so you just have to make the best of a less-than-ideal situation - - and decide for yourself whether you choose to do it again when a similar opportunity comes along. Great video!

Watching old froggy videos on labor day! This one is tough but mostly I just feel bad for the guy. He's probably on uppers, but he also seems deeply sad and lonely. @@pineapplepicker2960 Bought a pallet, the guy said that he wanted to pull something out he'd seen I said I wanted to pull something out of a different pallet as compensation he said fine, he pulled out these rubber pants, I went thru the other pallets and pulled out a brand new in box sealed microdermabrasion machine that sells for well over 200$. He asked what it was, I told him I didn't know but I knew lol. thats what he got for cherry picking thru my pallet!

I've been binging a lot of your videos dating back to learn more for personal experience and one thing I can definitely say is that you have an amazing temperament and you must be an awesome person in general. I can't tolerate over bearing people like this, he even tried controlling every small action as if it was a narration. He would benefit from being advised that if there's family stuff that *really* means a lot to him, take them off the table and don't even consider selling them. Plus, if he's got that much free time and he wants top dollar, he should be selling it himself - selling to a reseller is a way of avoiding the work at the cost of a lower profit.

My hat is off to you for seeing this out to the end. This locker would be my honey hole to go through. However that seller is a nightmare. 2 minutes into the video I had a headache. Thanks too for not editing it down. People wanting to be buyers need to know that these are the situations you do find yourself in and you handled it beautifully.

Run into people who love to quote Ebay prices all the time...but 90% of the time they are quoting ASKING prices. They'll be like oh this thingamabob well I saw one on Ebay they go for $5,000 if you want it I'll let you have it for $800 and I'm like 🤯 no way is a freaking big mouth Billy bass selling for $5,000😠...and then you have to explain asking ain't getting, which they will disagree with you and act like you are trying to swindle them.🤦

I had a vintage metal tonka or something bulldozer, even had the original rubber tracks intact...It was priced as a $25 collectible toy. I look over and see a kid pushing it hard in the dirt with all his weight on it and making turns. I see the grandmother and say ,that's a collectible toy,if he breaks the tracks your gonna have to buy it . She didn't flinch and let him continue being rough on it...sure enough, the treads busted... SOLD!!!

My friends and I recently cleaned out a house of an older couple who were like this guy. They were nice as can be but the lady talked and talked and had a story for everything we packed away to take. It took 5 times longer to finish the job than it needed to. At the end of the day as you drove home, you did it in complete silence, no radio, because you needed to de-compress.

Wow! This was painful to watch and a good lesson when buying from a storage unit. He’s clearly not prepared to sell his stuff, has too many emotional attachments, didn’t remove things he’s interested in keeping, and hasn’t determined value of most things ahead. It’s very difficult to make a deal on “I’ll take out what I want first, and it’s $###. I mean, how do you determine value when you don’t know what he’s going to keep? Your patience is amazing Froggy.
