It’s also that actually OTPs can overcome a skillceiling. Ppl say oh Sion (or Garen)is such an easy champ, you are just braindead statchecking, while I would argue that in certain situations the Limitation of a champ (for Sion no mobility etc) is actually what makes that champ hard to play on a high level. Running away with a Sion (especially without ult) takes 100times more skill and knowledge than for example a Zed running away. Each champ just has a different set of skills that are required. And again OTPs tend to overcome most of their champs perceived weaknesses in the eyes of the community. Sure a Garen is easier for scoring a good kda initially than a Zed, but I‘d argue that it is actually harder for a Garen to score a good KDA (or to carry) than with a Zed once you have 60 games in. Depends on the player too though.

No because the top lane has less value than bot. I can sack top and not negatively imapct the map vs if I sack my adc it causes issues in the long run.

They dont get hate for being good, they get hate because their playstyles makes everyone but them or at least the whole enemy team suffer, do you remember some time back when sions were suiciding on inhibitor turrets before plates fell and the game was over by 25 minutes? Good or not that just isnt fun for most players in the loby

@@jackmcblowerdayan8070 That's how the character plays. Riot made a character whose passive procs when they die, and only has any effect when they die. Sion players have to be creative with their entire kit in order to get any advantage they can, just like every other champion in League. Akali players have these long combos maximizing the enhanced autos they get with their passive, Pyke players maximize their survivability in laning phase and beyond by holding onto as much of their passive health they can- Sion players have to use the fact that death is not the end of their fight to get something done. Inting sion strat was stupid, but it's gone, now. The character has no reason to get flak for doing cheese with his passive- that's the entire point of the passive. If it wasn't intended, they would have changed it. Karthus players go into teamfights trying to die so that they get free ability casts, too.

yes but why coin flip which bot lane gets the early lead when you can make it near full proof early lead by starting with a 3v2 . last season I met a twitch top main who had a respectable win rate using a gigachad roam cheese strat, he'd go ignite/exhaust like hes got no mobility issues start with the ap support item and his first time showing on map would be a lvl 1 gank on mid with Q ignite and exhaust, he was near 100% going to get mid's flash and force them to back or get a kill off it before going back to top to chill till 4. after lvl 4 he never saw top again and just roamed bot using twitch stealth to walk in the ganks! I don't think this is as good as the Sion cheese we see here but it proved a point still- causing chaos by not doing what is expected in it self puts the other team in a knowledge check on how to fix it (does top leave to try roam? or do they push since its free till 3rd turret while twitch is just perma pressuring the map?) also as always, these cheeses exploit human emotions a lot! Jungler isn't gonna like his top if hes being perma invaded by their top, when the blame game starts you have already half won
