In part 7 of the truck camping road trip, I'll show you exactly what I used to find a remote stream and then I'll fish it for the first time. This is a sight unseen, real life walk thru...you'll see me fish it for the first time.

One of my favorite fishing experiences is finding good fish in a tiny stream, especially if it’s so small most people never bother to fish it. You’re living the life, Drew. Thanks for sharing.

I've said it before on here, but the app (trout routes) is top notch. No silly social media aspect to it at all. Just overviews of water, classes, private and public lands, even parking in some areas. I like your style brother. Keep killing it. Love your videos. You are teaching me tons every week. Thank you.

I started watching your channel recently and really enjoy the content. I love the small streams. My saltwater buddies sometimes point out their baits can be larger than the fish I catch there but inches and pounds have nothing to do with the fun of the overall experience. Unfortunately, on one of my favorites, people would leave so much trash, including balls of tangled monofilament line, that the owners of the property, very nice people, finally had to post it.

My kinda stream. Love those Cutties. Where I fish, it can get pretty frustrating by mid-summer as most of the non-pastured streams will canopy with weeds and brush, similar to what you found here. If a thunderstorm dumps enough rain there will be a gully washer that will knock the weeds down for a day or so giving you a short window of opportunity. Another great video Drew. Thanks!

Nice video. I've fished that creek a number of times and it never disappoints. The water does get low late in the summer and the large browns head down stream. The lady at the ranch is very nice, as long as you close their gates and respect their land, as you did. Nice job.

I use a similar approach and I swear getting my little garmin to send a message home to the wife and ping my location also opened up a ton of opportunities with the garmin maps online, between pinging spots, maps still working with gps with no data, and the multiple layers and trail maps that you can download. It was a blue line national forest smorgasbord!

I don't know what you just said in your post. But it sounds very interesting! I wish you could "decode" it for me? I know this - all land is owned by someone. So-called "public land" is land owned by a government. I have had many decades of experience with various types of government employees who believe it's THEIR land and they have no hesitancy in telling me what I can and cannot do on THEIR land. I've encountered game wardens, various fish and wild life biologists, federal marshals, BLM rangers, local police, county sheriffs deputies, private land owners, security guards, FBI, border patrol agents, DEA agents, DHS agents, and ATF agents. They all have the same thing in common: Badges and Guns. They will lie, cheat and steal you blind. They do whatever their political masters tell them. And they will do and say whatever they think they can get away with. These are all very REAL people. And they all think they own and control everything. Please prove me wrong. Thank you.

You shouldn't teach people how to find amazing places. They should figure it out on their own. Social media has destroyed many special places.
@LooknFishy
@LooknFishy Жыл бұрын
Actually social media hasn't destroyed anything...a few people have used it in a manner that some disagree with. I'd even argue social media has done more good than bad...help promote better handling, awareness, dam removals, best practices, catch poachers and other illegal activities, bring attention to companies that would pollute/destroy/etc our public lands, restrict access, intimidate and so forth. Just look at how many online petitions are circulated now to stop whatever mining or fill in the blank from being established on a stream. How many rehabilitation (people/stream) projects are done thru social media. Stream clean ups, monthly fly tying, club events, etc. All trying to create more advocates which is what I feel like I'm doing by teaching others how to find something special rather than name a stream. Those that want to burn a stream, aren't going to do the work when they can just get a name off socials. But there are others who after doing the work will protect what they find. There are tons of people who just want to get away and decompress without the crowds...most have zero interest in sharing what they find. I don't share streams but I'm not against helping others find what I find.
AMAZING CUTTHROAT fishery and EPIC stream side camping! P3
