ForeverKing vs. CantStopDaTrain is what MK1 needs to be, it's actually insane. So many hype moments throughout.

Mostly disagree. After about the first 3-4 matches, once C4NTSTOP and FK adjusted to each other’s play-styles, this became the least interesting set i’ve seen in a minute. First, way too many timeouts in this set to be considered hype. There were more timeouts than sub zero combos in this set. Second, SZ’s only optimal play-style being BF2 and DF4 zoning coupled with single button staggers and the kameo ice vest to slow down the game further is not interesting at all, but its his only option due to trash strings and bad offensive options. (Even in the corner, C4NTSTOP would do 2 1 into ex clone due to having trash pressure options and to go back to full screen BF2 and DF4 zoning, whats hype about a train moving in reverse for an hour?) Third, ForeverKing being able to ignore getting punished for his mistakes by using Geras’ 1 bar time reversal that gives you back your health. What other fighting games allow you to completely negate getting punished while also giving you back the health you lost for your mistake? None, because punishes are a fundamental aspect of any fighting game. Its really disappointing how boring MK games have gotten, even MK11 didnt have this many timeouts.

Not only that, its a 1 bar breaker that gives you back the health you just lost. They give quan chi and havik 2 bar launchers, but give a character a 1 bar health restoring breaker.

@@angelstyle9677you guys are forgetting that he has to set it up. He hast to set up three hour glasses so that he could use that, and he’s wasting the potential of using other moves for that one bar breaker. It’s not as broken as it seems, and that’s coming from someone who does not play Geras.

Geras If you have 3 bars of special meter but your kameo is unavailable, can you still breaker? No** If you have kameo available but you don’t have 3 bars of special meter, can you still breaker? No** **Unless you’re Geras. Geras gets to ignore the rules that literally every other character has to follow in order to breaker in MK1. Not only does he get to ignore those rules, he gets to do it with less resources than any other character in the game. That is, by definition a broken ability.

@@angelstyle9677 i agree in two ways - yes, it is broken (which this game needs more of), and yes, Geras is the only one that can do it, but you forget about the hourglasses. That is a resource he not only has to build manually, but one that he also has to manage. It is broken, but you have to be skilled enough to know when and how to build up and manage your hourglasses - ANOTHER RESOURCE on top of Kameos and meter - thats a lot to keep track of. If you’re skilled enough, you get to make it work as long as youve put in the work.

A lot of Geras mains switched to Motaro before the Kung Lao patch. I know I did. I’m pretty sure Forever king did too but I’m not positive. Motaro is nuts with Geras!

I have to defend NR a little bit. I thought the last balance patch was great and over due. I will never understand this trendy argument that if a character is op we need to buff everyone else rather than just nerf that one character a little bit. It’s unrealistic. NRS could cure cancer and people would complain I really believe that. Nerfs are a part of balancing all competitive video games. They are a necessary tool to fine tune a game so it’s fair and balanced and therefore fun for EVERYONE not just the people that choose to play the broken top tiers.
