Just got two of these for $7.99 each with a coupon. Used one to siphon out the nasty ass water from a water fountain in my backyard. Love it!

These things are awesome for the price! I have probably around 400 gallons or so of gas / diesel on this one now and it still works great.

That was a great video. I actually have one of these Harbor Freight pumps that I saw at the store as well and was surprised at the performance. I use it to transfer water from 5 gallon water bottles to fresh water tank on my RV. I'm going to get another one to put on my Inflatable boat as a bilge pump

Thank you.I honestly didn't think this pump was going to hold up as well as it has. Since i've made this video i've pumped over 100 gallons of gasoline on top of what I did in this video and it's still working great! That's a really good idea to use as a bilge pump.

I'm going to be buying one of these and if needed I will just rig a hose at the end to reach the bottom. Thanks for the review otherwise I wouldn't realize until after trying to do something and then finding out it doesn't reach

You’re very welcome! It might work it might not depending on how long your suction line is. At the minimum if you could get a good siphon going the pump should do its job of maintaining it. So far my pump has worked great although a few others it seems are having mixed results.

I have a generator tank that has about two inches of fuel remaining. The pump is not drawing it out. Is the level of the fuel too low?
@reallifetested2605
@reallifetested2605 5 ай бұрын
Yes, if you look at the base it just has a small motor with an impeller. That has to be fully submerged. On my generator to fully drain it I usually have to disconnect the fuel hose, drain it the rest of the way, then run it dry. Hope that was able to help a little!

Can we siphon fluid out of the car,oil out of the lawn mowers etc?
@reallifetested2605
@reallifetested2605 5 ай бұрын
The tube on this is too large for that. This works by using a small electric motor with an impeller at the end of the tube. It has to be submerged in order to draw fluids.

You think this thing can pull on a garden hose to start a siphon to empty a pool?
@reallifetested2605
@reallifetested2605 10 ай бұрын
I would say no. It really doesn’t have enough power to lift much further than the length that it’s made. I will say that when we siphon our pool out for winter. (This is hard to explain in txt) but! If you put your hose completely in the water (while holding one end of course) let the hose fill completely with water. Put the end that you have in your hand under water until the bubbles stop coming out. Then put your thumb over it. You should be able to just pull the end out and it will self siphon. Don’t take your thumb off until it’s below the water level though or it won’t work. Hope that makes sense!

Hey does this work for transferring old gas out of car ?
@reallifetested2605
@reallifetested2605 Жыл бұрын
I don’t think this would work to good for that. You have to have the end of the pump submerged into the tank for it to pull the gasoline up through it. Even if you managed that by adding an extension hose I don’t believe the pump would have enough lift to be able to draw the gasoline out.

@reallifetested2605
@reallifetested2605 6 ай бұрын
I really looked into this a few years back. Some manufacturers recommend draining the tanks and running dry, while others recommend leaving tanks full and running stabilizer through everything. I think it depends on carb vs fuel injected, steel tank vs plastic tank etc.

thats a horrible pump. Walmart sells them as Hyper tough for $8. They seem to only work in syphon mode and can't lift liquid any more than 12 to 18" above the source level.

I've been using it a good bit and have been happy with it for my uses. You're right about it having bad lift though. It does lift ok when you have a set of fresh batteries in, but that's not for long.

@reallifetested2605

It definitely won’t on the suction side. On the outlet side it could if you had it below the container you were pulling from. gravity would help the weak pump.

Can you get a small hose in there and siphon it out? I had to do that on my dad’s truck to change his fuel pump. It takes forever to siphon it out because of the small hose but it’s better than taking that tank down. I just used my mouth to get the siphon going. Gas burns so be careful if you go that route.

@@reallifetested2605 I will just go through the bed and then weld it back up I think it will be way easier than dropping the tank I literally just put a full tank of gas in so I am not too keen on the syphon method to be honest I will just cut it with a grinder and then I’ll have access to the pump

@@reallifetested2605 There is no room here for a single error. Even if gas isn't entering the battery compartment fumes are. And fumes ignite instantly when the on/off switch is pressed. Not worth a risk. Also, I noticed that sellers of these pumps leave no company name, and no phone number. Contact e-mail they leave is bogus. These people can not be tracked down. They know they are selling dangerous product.
