Love these cars, used to be a holden guy and hated how cheap the interiors looked and felt but after having a BA MK2 Turbo I completely fell in love with the B series chassis

Even as a Ford bloke I can admit N/A the Boss modular vs the LS GM engine is pretty weak in terms of horsepower, a tune V tune the LS is even better 🤦 But to supercharge the Boss and short diff gears really open up the modular motors, I personally think the Boss 260/290 is a great drivers car, at highway speeds and overtaking power they are really in their zone, compared to the equivalent HSV of the era after almost 20 years these BA XR8's are a true throwback to Aussie muscle cars in terms of basic trim, basic handling, basic luxury - there is a sweet charm to the stripped back essential components of the BA XR8'S - big motor, base model falcon ICC, nice seats for factory, I kinda enjoy driving my BA XR8 BOSS 260 over my supercharged FPV coyote/Miami FG GS, that probably sounds kinda stupid but with the insane power of the Miami it's fun, like I don't think I've ever been smoked from the traffic lights 🤣 But the noise, the brashness and basics of the BA XR8 has its charm, and once you've figured out to keep them in 2nd or 3rd with short diff gears they hit the torque rev range and are really cool to drive, if anything it's the effort it takes to get intune with the power range and engine feel is part of the love these modular motors give.

Best reaction literally starts at 0:10 proper feeling and loving every second of that xr8. Can’t beat a falcon they are the best but each to there own. driven like a car enthusiast by a car enthusiast the way it should be 🤙🏼

I love the BA series falcon. I had an 03 xr6 turbo. 850rwhp it was insane. But for some reason it would keep frying coil packs. No one could figure the problem out. Anyway its sold now but was a beautiful insane car.

There is one car you need to review Ross is a ba djr xr8 they were limited came in a 5 speed manual and a 4 speed auto 320kw alcon brakes front and rear koni suspension they would make a nice review 👍

Man, been shopping for an FG xr8 and they're so hard to find. Nobody wants to part with them it seems (i don't blame them). Even bf xr8's are hard to find, such beautiful cars. I'm a strange Aussie, i love the holden AND ford V8's.

10 out of 10 for noise. Love the factory under bonnet look. An extremely expensive and fuel intensive way to go slow (for 2022 standards)

Sounds fat! Has it got cams? Has more a 290+ tone too it than a 260 tone (the heads/cams setup on the 290/302/315 make them sound deeper than the 260) Love those stealth look under cover blowers. Such a factory finish style setup! My Toxic Green 260 6speed manual BF (completely unopened) has a CCW Capa V2-SQ Sidemount on about 6-7PSI, it pushed out 330rwkw with a just a catback (it did 710nm of torque so no doubt that thing is up in the 800's or more!), absolutely love it though, doesn't whine quite as much and has a little less torque down low (cause of the centri blower) but damn it pushes a shit tonne of power up top, really amplifies the stock power curve significantly! And nice and gentle to the stock motor too (feeding in the higher boost when it ups in the rev's and is hungry for air, no boost shock down low).

I sold my 05 6 speed about a year ago for $12k with only 160k on the clock in VGC. A year before that I put it up for only $8.5k and got laughed at and trolled until I removed the add. You look now and the prices have doubled at least for ones like mine. I wish I had kept it now. Not so much for the value but for how much I would have to spend to get a good one again. Hindsight is a wonderful thing I guess.

Isn't the stock motor (5.4L V8) under the hood the same as the one used for Ford Expedition (+ /- 15 years ago)? What a thirsty one as I struggle to get better than 13 MPG with 3 passengers, air condition full blast. Yes it weighed around 5600 lbs and with 27 gal tank I had to fill up every 4 hours.

How does it compare to the later Miami supercharged V8? I always found the 5.4 lacking as it needed lots of revs for anything to happen.
