Basically, it would be good if the missiles weren't superelevated and if you could uncage the seeker. Right now it doesn't work against anything flying towards you or maneuvering in the slightest, and can't lock helicopters unless they are around 2-3km away. The York is just better. Also the MBT-70's round is, unfortunately, correct as it is now. However the meme still applies because XM885 is still missing like 40% of its penetration :)

Apparently the reason why the MIM-72C's are elevated like that is on the real system if the target is under 17 degrees it automatically elevates like that to loft the missile but will direct fire from above 17 degrees, however, gaijin couldnt get that system working so they just decided to make it always elevated

I think the Gajin paradox happens to you because it’s *you* killing so many ground targets that a large number come back in planes, hence you getting bombed

I think the reason why IR missiles track so bad in this game is that Gaijin is considering them tracking the hot nozzle of the engine, that's why they also have huge problem locking onto the helicopters at all, but irl there's also a giant cloud of hot air right behind it, not visible to the human eye, but still visible to the missile, and unlike the jet that can be easily obscured by the plane, the hot air around it is much more visible to a real missile which just isn't a thing in the game unfortunately.

What I don't get is why they gave US "improvised" Chaparral, but not Mauler. Sergeant York is in the game in usable condition, Yak-141 is in the game too with armaments and avionics it COULD have gotten. Not to mention many other "what if" vehicles. So why not Mauler?

Just wanted to say it's somewhat realistic that the heli would keep going after losing the tail. The tail rotor is just there to stop counter rotation from the main blades, but if the heli is already moving forwards, if there is enough air moving over the airframe, it would keep it straight(ish) by aerodynamics alone. Belly slide landing would be required, but I would want to be given the chance to try instead of it just being counted dead as soon as the tail rips of. I've had flying-wing style aircraft lose the tips of the wings and count the plane as dead, but enough of the control surfaces are still intact that I can still manuver the plane well enough to land if not well enough to still fight. I would love a system where the player has to decide by ejecting or not if the vheicle is recoverable instead of the game deciding it for the player.

For video recommendations I would recommend the Strv 103 (feels like that vehicle should have a video) and the Pbv 302 (BILL) if you're feeling like using a ATGM carrier. Both are fairly fun vehicles.

I had a micromachine of this thing when I was little and I've gotta say, it looked a lot more impressive in miniature.

The rocket sees the heat signature of the jet, it is very hot, and this trail is easy to detect even from a great distance. Helicopters do not have a jet trail, but only exhaust gases, like a car, and the exhaust gases are much colder. Therefore, it is more difficult to target a helicopter than a plane.
