The Japanese Type 99 is an artillery tank that was added in the most recent War Thunder update. It has high velocity shells and a pretty fast reload rate, making it extremely fun to play.

The reason the Type 99 appears to have double the ammo is because its like the early Soviet 122mms. That is to say, the shots are separated by shells and charges.

That is correct. You can see the actual shells on the bottom and the propellant charges on the top

3:40 it is not 18 rounds, but that is because the top two rows are 17x propellant (the cylinders with no pointy tip), and the bottom two rows are 17x rounds (cylinders with pointy tip). Plus 1 round and propellant in the gun makes 18 Also, please play the Strv m/42 EH

It's a real shame you didn't use the VT rounds. The velocity on them is still high so they are easy to aim, and they turn aircraft inside out. I figure power-bonking CAS would make you like the vehicle even more.

This little guy also has some of the best prox-HE shells for AA. They're so fast it's very easy to aim.

fun fact, every year at the 富士総合火力演習(just a big drill/ PR thing JSDF do every year), JSDF use type 99 to draw the shape of mt Fuji in the air with air burst ammo,you can find a lot of video of this on youtube, really cool trick

You should try bringing the m50 into 9.0 ish games. I've had a blast doing that and either get a ton of kills or die instantly. So basically the top tier experience.

Here's an idea for a possibly painful challenge. Play the Japanese I-Go Ko or the Chi-Ha. But you can only use the APHE round. Only having 21mm pen at point blank is certainly an experience.

The funny thing about this SPH is that it fires British 155 HE rounds, the L15A2 is one of the main rounds fired from the British AS90 SPH.

To my knowledge, L15A2 is also the standard 155mm HE-FRAG of the JGSDF alongside aging Type 75 and M107 stores.

I’ve been absolutely loving this thing, and I believe it has the highest HE filler of any 155mm in the game with the upgraded L15A2 shell having 14.8 kg of TNT equivalent.

Not counting premiums, america has 2~3, germany has 2, russia has 1, britain has 1, china has 2, japan has 4, italy has 2, france has 1, sweden has 0~1 (depends if you count heat-g). Only israel lacks a vehicle with heat-fs in that battle rating bracket.

I didn't notice a major difference in video quality, this is slightly better in my opinion but its really whatever is easier for you, for a video idea maybe some sprocket? If not then the black prince or Churchill NA75 would be nice to see. Thanks for the vids spooky :)

I honestly think that for the day of christmas you should do a special challenge of sorts, idk kinda like the "the tank the kills you, you play" kinda thing. Unless you have something planned ofc. But i would really appreciate that as a christmas gift :)

3:39 yeah I think its supposed to be 17+1 but they have the 17 rack twice due to two piece ammo. When zoomed you can see the shell (bottom rack) and charge (top rack) look different

Probably because it is one of those things where you think a "Tank destroyer" is gonna be for tanks subconsciously. It's kind of goofy still that Gajin continues to make them AAs by giving them all proxy rounds for no reason.

@HumanShisno I'm reading what Gajin tells me about their game. When they tell me it's the most realistic military vehicle game. Though the game is far from any semblance of it. Russia gets all sorts of overpowered vehicles and equipment on their vehicles that doesn't exist. Sweden had most of their top tier planes added without tracking radars and no tracers. America has most of their stuff needlessly uptiered and nerfed constantly. AP and APHE are both modeled completely wrong. I'm not looking too much into it. I'm looking at what I'm told Gajin thinks is "realistic"

3:37 The reason the shells look like they are twice the amount Spookston brought here is because the shells are separated between the actual shell and the shell head (AKA the slug or the projectile). So it looked like he brought 36 shells when he actually did bring 18, they were just in two parts. The same situation occurs with multiple other self-propelled howitzers, and the KV-2 as well.

Half expecting spookston to start singing burn down the rainforest from South Park at this rate. Also you can kill the Jagtiger from the front, by shooting the inside edge of the tracks, as gaijin in their infinite wisdom have given it a 10mm joint underneath the tanks sides.

Please play the JaPzK A2, autoloader, good APFSDS, gen 2 thermals, good mobility and a laser rangefinder all at 8.7 really make this a hidden gem in the german and french tech tree (french one is SK 105 A2)

You should play the sd.kfz.6/2. It is a german rank 2 AA with a 37mm cannon with APHE and 49mm of pen at 1.7

the proxy round on this thing makes it a more effective AA gun than some SPAA's, the high muzzle velocity and the fact it's a 155 HE proxy round makes it quite easy to actually shoot down planes

Whenever I see the railed off section in the back of the turret, I think its for little tiny men to stand in like a balcony and then there's that raised section that's a door to get back into the tank
