This thing has a laser range finder IRL. But unsurprisingly, it's missing. And it's 7.0, higher than similiar, more flexible and mobile artillery. The way of the snail is kinda predictable.

If the g6 was used the way its used in real life, would be shooting almost from off the borders of the map.

Hey Odd, with regards to the artillery pieces in game, I was doing some testing and it seems like the HE-VT shell now actually works on pretty much any tank now. After testing it out in the Test Drive, I tried out the Bkan 1C with only VT shells and was 1 shotting every tank just by aiming above their vehicle and the shell reliably proxy-fusing over their roof. It used to be that the shell would proxy fuse above a tank's gun barrel and detonate early making it entirely useless, but it seems now that Gaijin fixed that. Also tried it out with the Russian 2S3M and it works fine there too! I took it into multiple games as well to make sure it was working outside of the Test Drive and it was. Was dinking roofs of players who thought they were fully reversed under cover. Good shit Edit: So I wanted to retest something, and the HE-VT shells only proxy fuse above an enemy tanks roof. So you can still use them at ANY range to directly hit the tank and not have to worry about the shell detonating early on the barrel or some other part of the tank. I feel there's probably no reason to take regular HE at this point as the HE-VT has the same pen + TNT & has the added bonus of the proxy fuse

I actually love the tank. For the first time in a while in War Thunder I'm having fun because of it. Being able to destroy both tanks and planes somewhat easily is satisfying too and sometimes on certain maps i can get into certain positions early with it

shooting the bumper shells shouldnt kill the rest of the crew. there are internal baffles and the length of where the shells are placed vs where the majority of the crew sits should make it treated as the abrams blowout panels. hell, all of the ammo racks on the turret are external ammo racks on purpose, to protect the crew.

It's surprisingly more fun to play than I suspected, tho I don't understand why it's 7.0 when the 4005 is 6.7 and the Akatsiya is 6.3.

Another "real life buff" is the fact that the front ammo storage is designed to cut through dense bush. So it essentially goes the same speed regardless of vegitation. Thise proxy rounds make the G6 an excellent AA.

I've been playing the tank maybe a little to much since like a week after it was released, and damn, it's absolutely great. The speed is pretty good, considering Gaijin is unable to make wheeled vehicles properly. The gun is the best you can find on an artilerry piece, with a 11,5 kg of explosive mass (for reference: 10,5kg for Akacija and 7,5kg for bkan) and ballistics that are very similar to solid shot 17pdr. The elevation angles and gun traverse speed is really fast, making quick shots after stopping and aiming at planes really easy. Horizontal traverse angles are somewhat limited but noticeably better than on bkan. The hull itself is pretty survivable, unless you find an autocannon. Overall, it's definitely the best artillery for killing tanks in the right possition and pretty comfortable for shooting planes, but the bkan can be much better at killing planes with some practice + the autoloader can be quite handy and the Akacija is much better for close quarters combat because of it's fully traversible turret. Also note: the mobility is in a weird spot, because you're fast until you find mud/water (which are for some reason in spots across every map, thx gaijin) and the turning speed is good, but you need a lot of space to turn, afterall it's the size of roughly 1,2 mauses. Overall 9/10 they could've put a fully traversible turret on there if they REALLY tried

i absolutly love the g6 and i have got some amazing kills with he-vt shells allowing you to defend your self from revenge cas to a degree with the turet speed.

I had loads of fun spading the G6. I ran main PF ammo with 5 regulars for odd situations since under 300m the PF just acts like the regular HE anyways and I play pretty aggressive with it. It is just loads of fun to be able to crush roofs from range, clap the revenge bomber, than pop an IS-6's turret off point blank by shooting him just below the cheek. Backed up with the FV4005 your lineup is just a free rage dispenser.

Imagine you hit a plane on the airfield with proxy, it would be the longest kill cam ever for the recipient.

This thing replaced air support at 50 km in the rear, in Angola. Able to do direct hit of tanks at beyond the 50 km distance!

I've been having so much fun with the G6 rhino and the fact that it exists in the same BR bracket with the Centurion Avre and the Fv4005 is just godly!

with any derp gun, this one performs better at that cold war armour-era BR 8.0-9.0, it's a shame wheeled vehicles have their mobility badly modeled though since this thing would be a little bit more speedy

It feels like War Thunder is long overdue for some kind of indirect fire mechanic. So many artillary vehicles in the tech trees that are abosolute jokes or memes.

I have a lot of fun in this, it does get frustrating true, but I only take vt rounds and it's pretty good basically top attack artillery haha. I just go Light tank hunting in it as well, as while the mobility isn't great the top speed is fun when you get going.

I've only played one game with it so far but it was pretty fun. Over pressuring Tiger 2s is therapeutic. Some long overdue justice for suffering against them in USA 5.7.

The HE-VT on this thing will also overpressure most heavily armoured tanks aswell in 1 shit if placed correctly. only thing it wont proxy kill is a MAUS or E100.

This "Tank" is pure pain - I mean the Rateal is pretty bad you would think this would be some improvement but its just as tall with a long reload

Mobility is Equal to Tracked simply because the ability to rockcrawl as armored Car vs trash Tracks being able to get into places were tanks cant wich is weighting heavy against tracks. also managed to get my first double kill and Air kill with it in one match still got no fuse round tho.

I don't know man, this thing slaps for me.

This vehicle always feels just that tiny bit not enough. It has a giant shell but not quite giant enough to knockout tanks from the front. It is fast but it turns too slow to react. It is pretty tough for its lack of armor, but never enough to survive a shot and retaliate. And its also 7.0 for some unholy reason

Just for FYI the speed and stats of the G6 is extremely off. and the round was kept separate to the explosive. the front was not used to store any boom boom material. Boom Boom was in the back.
